So your favourite is W two Worlds. I remember watching it and liking it a lot at times but I also remember being annoyed by some developments that occured. Im not sure why my rating is that id have to recheck. I rember i was new to Kdramas at that time and was following actors on Netflix so id watched Pinnochio and Romance is a Bonus Book and i remember thinking poor 2FL gonna lose out again. I thought the show waz really clever i remember wondering how are they gonna end this. I didnt write much about it so i dont know. I think there may have been something I thought was a bit silly maybe 🤔.

Thats true but it doesnt change the story. So in JI the story is of a gurl who likes a giy who doesnt like her and is an Ahole. So how do we get them together we see she meets a real nice guy and might be moving on so the 1st guy now realises he wants her or is jealous. We also make the guy friends with the 1st guy. Okay it has potential. So now we tell the story in a way that doesnt involve the ML earning the FL by character growth kearning sacrafice no we just have him decide to butt in on his friend and we have FL use the 2ML and then cheat on him. This is niw not a good story, so writer makes ML sympathetic by making him ill and 2ML unlikeable by making him clingy and so take the focus off the FL horrible behaviour. Like thats just not to me a clever inspired or impressive story telling. Its just blegh. Obviously a lot of people like it but i find it so unsatisfying.

Anyine yes i like nice characters but I also like complex andbad characters what i haye is chara ters doing shitty things with no negative consequences in JI The writer cheaply assassinated the 2ML and made the ML sick to smoith the OTP rather than actually have character development. The writer has every character tell the ML hes an Ahole so we know but then he gets the girl anyway. The FL and ML treat their supposed friend awfully but its not reckoned with or owned. Thats how it remains a bad story for me. Im not a writer but even to me that was just so obviously not skilled and bery unsatisfying

I cant get over how his wife is so nice but the FL is totally hiding the cheating from her while accepting her support and friendship (total shitty behaviour way to go girll) and aftervend Ep 6 obviously this guy is going to come after FL again you know the Jealousy Incarnate 101 I dont want her but noone else can heve her either and i predict the FL will waver because "she is calculating" The characters in this arent just flawed its a useless westernised style race to the bottom of shittiness lead by the FL and her ex so far

I hate fart jokes. For me as per Yumi I just want a good story. This was not a goid story because the FL and ML were shitty people doing shitty things and getting the reward. I just don't get how that's enjoyable. Sure there might be great dialogues acting or the ML is handsome so what?? isn't it a given we should have good dialogue but do we need to root for assholes 🤔 Not me. I've been glad to see some nice guys finish first type dramas creep in to the genre. I mean the whole here why the other guys better than you but I'm a bad person (I have lowself esteem) so I'm gonna kiss you hospital scene just made me hate the writer tbh. Another FL rewarding a guy for being an asshole but I suppose as SG writer if the girls lap it up let's make some money.

it might be interesting for you to rewatch in terms of what the story is because to me it's just simple tropey paint by numbers but she couldn't even make it enjoyable. And the deconstruction of the FL waz depressing.
I can see how she went for the money and let's face it's so popular because the girls adore the ML and the FL is someone they can relate to as she is petite boyish and not an insane supermodel type like the 2FL. I went into it with no expectations and everything about it just disappointed me.
I believe it got a writing award YIKES I haven't seen hospital playlist but if it's worse than this I'll eat my proverbial hat.

I think it was Ep 12 or 13 or something and he was at her house stalking her and she tries to just leave and he just grabs her and shouts in her face about how he us here chasing her home doesnt that show he likez her as if him liking her entitled him to her reciprocating I said ah here there's nor much time for character development here.

I think the writers hook or whatever was how can an ordinary woman turn down a beautiful rich man isn't that interesting but instead of him winning her over he just bullied her into submission. Terrible story but when you are just using tropes and visuals and gimmicks like a "gay" the story is secondary. I think the writer refused or was unable to write character development for ML.

Correct but it is just a visual representation of her deconstruction from a string willed kind ambitious stunt woman who wants to have a better life than her upbringing to a dolled up plus one generic cocktail dress on the arm of a chaebol. This is a pathetic show no joke

yeah i see a bit of a contrast in expectations here with viewers or at least what people are willing to focus on. it seems most are like yeah she's immature she's needy she can be a bit if a bitch she doesnt grow but it's so relatable this is life it was so lovely she fell in love but then broke up.it waz so realistic. I have an allergic reaction to the word realistic in Kdrama reviews LOL.
Anyway when you relegate the ML to a nice guy who cant speak in order to ensure your forced separation trope I am not impressed with the writing.
I like situations to be resolved I like bad behaviour to be acknowledged and learnt from highlighted in the outcomes so we learn something or at least are able to discern ah yes this is flawed behaviour but I see how it is portrayed and what the writer is showing us. When it's just basically a record of what happens to flawed people 🤔 🤷 that's 1 not really enjoyable and 2 a cop out.

so while some like the lines and the dialogue s and moments and can forgive the story fizzling out, I expect all that good stuff but also the writer to end the story not just cop out. Also the fact S2 uses that relationship that fizzled out as a plot device in S2 to provide a troped up love triangle and then chose to finally end it while over lapping with another less satisfying love story with zero character development of the FL just more of the record of her by now repetitive flaws chalkenges fears whatever is kinda boring unsatisfying and just leaves it a rom com with no ending.

I think writers (I'm not one) of limited series need to write good stories not just dialogues. I want insights and allegories symbols and senses ideas I can be interested in and enjoy thinking about not "reality". Reality is impossible to capture ever in a drama the word is not applicable.
That's probably why I always enjoy the supernatural time travel ghost story Sci fi alien transfiguration whatever because I know it's go be low on pretentious attempts to capture reality.

Interesting these shows HP and the replies get a lot of hype. I dropped 88 havent watched HP and dropped 97. I went hard because its awful abd its just cheap and crass. As you have probably noticed i cant get behind shows that forgive shitty behaviour or dont justify it and show character development. And thus to me takes the cake.

SOKP and LLTG are not good romances they are just overhyped because of the casts this is way better IMO
