dude I use that word asexually btw I just finished ep 13 and wrote a big reply to a review then looked at comments and here you are.
I started reading your S2 BTW and while I haven't gotten very far I just have to commend your attention to detail with the pics/graphics it's amazing. I dont have a clue bout putting together stuff like that but I was really Impressed well done. I'm going to paste my thoughts on this show below

very well written review. I'm on end ep 13 >!they have kissed!< and heres the thing it's this romance that's the weakest part. Their past selves had so much more chemistry. The whole FL moving on from her 1st love to the ML just wasn't really well done IMO. There wasn't enough from the FL to make it believable I blame direction not acting I live her. So I'll finish it but I'm more interested in the ghosts tbh and the shaman grandma granddaughter. The 2ML is unfortunately another punchbag character who just gets nothing positive. I don't like love triangles but this one is not angsty or even irritating its just not really believable. 2ML is perfectly good guy FL loves him then just doesn't. ML is not nice guy FL doesn't love him then just does. Make 2ML evil problem solved not really.
So yeah big fail on the rom big win on the com.

Yeah its a cool myth. The drama isnt bad the ML is a bitmeh but Hyeri is just so lovable and easy to watch she is just a brilliant comedic actress

I tried FOE but i couldnt get past 3 episodes . It was the ML I didnt find it believable he had such a lovely wife LOL . I Dont know anythi g about Mouse I must take a look

LOL I know i really loved lovely runner but i think thats a bit of recency bias. I didnt see Mouse but i found Happiness a mixed bag while the mains were just amazing to watch and the premise was good the story was slow and got a bit boring tbh.

Well given she was an innocent victim of Wanni gs scheme and Jiang Li was an innocent of step moms schemes wouldn't the physicians family be justified in seeki g revenge on Wanning and XFF also my issue was about the callous nature of XFF compketely not cari g about the innocent lives lost it does not in any way fit with her character up to that point. When she heard from Su that the princess had gotten rid of a physicin she smiled with satisfaction that was not how we are told she is.

Hey look its obvious you really love the drama but like im not sure why you chose to answer without actually addressing the issue I rose. And basing it on the drama and the character as opposed to "when is revenge ever not......" like what??.
The story up to that point had been explicit that XFF valued innocent life as she had learnt from her father. She was clear about seeking vengance on those who deserved it but clearly was deveststed by those lives lost in her cause. There are several scenes including one with Wanning and XFF where we are clearly told she is not like them . So ???

Yeah this is not a good take at all. You make it sound like her revenge is justification for innocent peoole being killed if its okay for innocent people to be killed as part of her schemes how is she any different than her fake step mom or sisters or fake dad. At least she needs to be regretful. If not she is no better. Its pretty obvious

Yes i get you but XFF when found out accepted it without con ern or remorse she didnt plan it that way but she was still partly responsible acted like she didnt care and that waz out of chara ter and puts him firmly in bracket of nit caring re innocemt lives lost. It was not cool

She is listed as Yang Chao Yue Jiang Li Ep 1 and 2. Her character waz sent away as a child and nobody has seen her in over 10 yrs hence the switch is believable as noone knows exactly what she looks like.

Yes all true but I did kinda feel she was a saint not in the holy sense but in the moral sense the righteous sense. So I just feel the writing here was not good as we had had a fair amouny scenes and dialogues up to this point including in the previous two episodes that were specifically explaining why XFF was different from those she was seeking revenge on but in this incident she is essentially acting the same as them i found it a really "WTF moment" . She states at times to Wanning Shurong and others that she is not like them. She specifically tells Duke Su and others at different points she can't take the thought of another person dying for her. She confronts Wanning and tells her that having terribly cruel life experiences is not an excuse for evil. Duke Su tells one of the villians she is not like you. And yes she learns her humanity from her father and forgets briefly because of her drive for revenge but recalling his words makes her stay and help the famine victims. She is never anything but righteous. Her violence to the Governer is revenge for her dad and her dads loyal servant who had an awful death. She really struggles with the deaths she's caused indirectly or more directly at times. Jiang Li her bros GF Tong'er her dad's Servant all died as a result of her pursuit of revenge. And so did the physician and his wife and son and her reaction is akin to Wanning thinking of people as ants. It just didn't fit and that it was never acknowledged was not at all satisfying.

LOL But then the question is would it or does it ruin the whole drama for you or at least make you feel like it totally diminishes the FL character and the whole story

Okay you explain it really well but I did understand why she gave the pill as you described. I also knew the Duke had no clue re plan so when he said to her that Wanning had killed a physician The FL immediately smiled to herself and then immediately they had the laughter filled cute moment of ML jealousy. My point is exactly that, in that moment she couldnt care less about the innocent physician or his wife and child, the laughter (regardless of why) proves that. So therefore she has become someone who is, willing to advance her plans, her games, her revenge at the expense of innocent lives. But isnt it a fact she was also an innocent life lost at the expense of Wannings game, and Jiang Li was an innocent life lost at the expense of step moms games. Isnt that what the whole story is about? Isnt that why the revenge is satisfying because you see how cruel needless and unfair the deaths were. You could argue that the step.mom didnt kill Jiang Li rather it was the boss of the convent. XFF didnt kill the Physician but she caused it to happen and her laughing immediately on hearing the news proves she didnt care.
Therefore isnt it feasible that if the physicians child somehow miraculously survived and grew up to avenge his parents wouldnt he be justified in getting revenge on XFF for playing with and devaluing his families lives, and ultimately causing their deaths. Wouldn't he be justified in accusing her of treating his parents as "pawns" that were crushed like "ants".
