On BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky Oct 18, 2020
Watched on Netflix and found this an intriguing expose' on the journey of these fantastic and very talented young ladies. Reviewers gave it a 10 and so did I. This film captures the difficulties of choosing a route in life that can be filled with perilous choices. The stamina and the dedication and the sacrifice they made to get to this level of stardom were highlighted. And the personal sacrifices they must make and have made to sustain the level of stardom they have obtained are also shared. Yes, I cried -- so young, so pretty and so talented and yes Coachella!!!! You have to watch this to understand why Blackpink became international superstars and how they attained something most trainees could only dream about.

Watched this drama and wish I had your article BEFORE watching. You have really made me want to watch again to enjoy the finer aspects of this story and character developments. What a great article. I loved it as well - wrote comments before after it ended. I love women characters that are women of substance in all aspects of the storytelling -- and not just objects. This drama was refreshing and along with you - I highly recommend it. It was awesome. Thanks for writing and sharing (wish I had your talent).

Got you -- very familiar with sloths . Looked up Zootopia and will check it out on Disney Channel when my grandkids are around. Fun talking to you.

of one accord - I never watched Zootopia - if it as slow as this drama I will not watch it.

MDL ratings dropped another 0.1...
I dropped my ratings because there is not an ounce of passion, understanding or foundation for a relationship - just a bunch of I'm sorry(s) over and over again. Both of the characters are portrayed as trees with no roots. I assume the actors are talking so slow so the drama can be translated - but in real life - even an angry outburst would have more cadence to the sentences. Slow as molasses is how I describe this one.

Thank you - I'm in. I used Soompi last time to get through the earlier released version.

Yes. I was debating whether it was the same Royal Nirvana I saw on Amazon Prime. Is this the new one? I am watching too many dramas right now (including re-watching Love and Redemption) -- will wait until 90% translated and finished if this is the new one. Thanks. I was negligent in checking.

Wow!! A great expose' on family relationships, dysfunctional family, family bonding, family healing, and the importance of non-biological relationships when growing up as well as the significant impact of biological relationships. I am so sorry that it ended - I want a part two. Warning: an emotional rollcoaster for the viewer. Highly recommend.

This drama is the reason I love MDL and its members. Bored and looking for something different I read an article - early in September - detailing the quality of this drama. I This was the best drama I've watched in September and for once - I feel there was a "complete and complicated drama" all within 8 episodes. Everything about this drama was perfect. Someone already said MASTERPIECE -- I will have to repeat the word. This drama viewing experience would have been totally missed -- except for the article. Thank you "jojo" and thank you MDL.

Wow! Thanks, didn't know about that one. I will search all the viewing cites to see whether any English translations. Much appreciated. Hopefully. Better than original and some freedom from heavy handed censorship. We are all adults now..gosh!

Actually I love the ending. I think it's brilliant. The writers have been playful with us.
And my husband argues that supports his thesis. But I am a suckered for happy in these turbulent times. I wish we had access to comments made by writers after filming. But it is hard just to get the dramas translated let alone post discussions. You stay safe. Today is watch sleepless princess and binge watch my episodes of love and redemption I've fallen behind on. Enjoyed the conversation.

You are unmoveable in your conclusions, and since we all love happiness in the end I truly want to agree with you. The legal standard would be beyond a reasonable doubt...HEA. but in this instance I think the directors and writers wanted to generate conversation, such as the ones we have been having. I used to gravitate to Chinese dramas because they avoided the HEA that Korean dramas always resort to without any logic. You die when you are suppose to die in C dramas. :)

All right neighbor - I've just finished my senior citizen Wal Mart . Just finished rewatching and yes you are so right. It took one word in the drama that I didn't pick up on -- the scene when he said "soon". It was the black and white imaging that really led me off track. This was the transitional scenes that led to the belief she had passed. My husband interpreted it as the 4th brother later joined her in the afterlife after finishing his mission. He rewatched the ending as well and did not change his argument. I am now in agreement with you. She is still alive - but was in hiding (which would have not been necessary since she was pardoned). Why his work colleagues and her family seemed not to include her in conversations during the 3 years and the family dinner is what led me down the path of confusion. A fairy tale.

It is after midnight here now -- but first thing tomorrow morning I am going to Rewatch the last episode and follow your hints. I am living the simplistic life so I only ask for simple things - like the obvious But I will scourer the dialogue and scenes tomorrow to find the fairy tale ending. Thanks for responding to me.

Your spoiler is so detailed. My problem. I did not have the same feelings regarding the conclusion (you have some historical background). For me I felt it was open-ended for the viewer to draw his or her conclusions. I would have enjoyed a straight forward ending -- did she die? What happened in the future sort of ending. Not me trying to speculate (or in my instance debating with my husband what happened). I still enjoyed it and felt it was a very well acted and produced drama. I need another -Serenade of Joy type production.

Extremely good. Action action action and the choreography of the fights and actors that executed the fights were truly exceptional. Enjoyed this immensely. There is the word nice in martial arts - loved the main leads character and his wife. a 9.5 at least.

A 9,0 for me. I really liked the evolution of storytelling and the ending. The entire drama was a tease of sorts and the characters did a good job portraying their prospective roles. I will say this drama was one of the few cross-dressing dramas that the female actress had the physical and emotional persona to make her "fit" into her role.

Why is it so hard for a good beginning and a well written middle finally leaves you empty in the end? I truly enjoyed most episodes. Had an hour debate about the ending with my hubby. I just wish I left the drama with a feeling of completeness and satisfaction. Just not there - but overall worth the time spent watching.
