If this drama feels crap to you, check out other political dramas set in similar periods, like the Advisor's Alliance,…
Thank you for sharing this link. I love watching historical dramas and researching the names of emperors, empresses and important figures (as well as important events during the period) featured in the drama (adds substance to what I'm watching). This article will be my future guide to watching period dramas. Just finished watching and researching Legend of Dugu - not totally crap but more poor editing , poor translations and annoying characters. The history was more interesting.
We will never know the truth of these allegations against her. This article starts out by referring to her as a person from a humble background (e.g. poor). She obviously is not powerful and probably has little political influence if any -- she can become a pawn on anyone's chess board. After watching a lot of Chinese historical portrayals of females you can only imagine the likelihood of the extent of her suffering and punishment. The NBA is suffering from one tweet by one person who only had an individual opinion out of 300 million Americans with no political clout.
Forgiven - definitely. I can not fathom a person with this much wealth not hiring others to manage her finances. Other than signing her name to papers and probably trusting others she should not be judged to the level of harshness given because she did not cause "bodily or emotional harm" to others. The fine must have hit her pocketbook hard and the oppressive handling of this matter is enough punishment for one person to handle in 1000 lifetimes of saying "I am sorry or apologizing". I say this earnestly because this is my belief - the reason God made erasures is that we will make mistakes. There is no one perfect in this world. It is time to move forward and allow her to stand tall and resume her acting career. I applaud anyone that fights for redemption and has the perseverance trait to overcome whatever obstacles life throws at you. God's grace and mercy to her.
I don't want to spoil it for you but you asked - no -- but worth watching because dramatic ending.
almost wrote Hua Jai sila on the first list. Loved it. I still haven't watched full house. Will try to watch within next two weeks. Started the other drama and looks interesting. Thanks. Have a great day.-- from Florida.
I don't want to spoil it for you but you asked - no -- but worth watching because dramatic ending.
You are welcomed. I checked your watchlist and saw you like Thai dramas So do I - just finished Tae Pang Kong and starting Margurat Sue Nam ... from your list. If you have any good Thai dramas share them as well. Watched quite a few this year and was becoming addicted.
I don't want to spoil it for you but you asked - no -- but worth watching because dramatic ending.
I don't know when you started watching Chinese/Tawainese dramas but I will give you my recent period favorites: Story of Yanxi Palace Ashes of Love (so good marathoned all night and next day) Oh My Emperor (cute) Eternal Love (low budget and cute romance) Ruyi's Royal Palace The Story of Min Yang (good chemistry) Princess Agents (action and romance) Legend of Fu Yao (didn't really like but most viewers loved it) The Flames Daughter (same leads but not as good Imperial Doctress (a little older - love my female characters) Oh My General (the female Mulan) The Princess Wei Young (also good)
If you like really good historical based dramas; Nirvana In Fire One and Two Battle of Changsha Rise of the Phoenix
I may have spelled some of the dramas wrong -- this is my short list (my memory is fading as I get older) - these dramas stuck to me after watching.
Hope this helps and my recommendations are ok. Try to ask others so you have second opinions and watch the ones that are chosen the most.
I did a weekend marathon of this drama (taking a break from all the Chinese dramas I am watching all week long). It was good -- at first hard to understand this reincarnation principle and spirit life after death in the drama but the concept really added to the progression of the storytelling Enjoyed all 21 episodes.
A long journey to complete but all 34 episodes have been subbed and available to view on YT. I loved the lead actress so I stuck with this drama. The story was a soft one but tolerable and if binge watching - now that all episodes of this 2017 drama have been subbed it is worth it. The volunteer subber interjects the funniest comments throughout and really adds to the entertainment value of the drama.
A good short comedy romance drama for a breather. The age-gap tag is almost an understatement. However, this did not undermine the issue of maturity -- the equalizer for this drama. I hope there is a second season because it was entertaining and addicting to watch. I gave it a 8.5 because the writer almost made it impossible for the viewer to condone the relationship because of the age gap.
She is so cute in Long Distance Relationship. Hope she gets more roles. A very capable actress and the reason a 2017 drama that has been finally translated in English episode by episode for over 2 months has a large following. The story is good but her acting and chemistry with lead are both exceptional.
Watched over the past 3 days - slow slow slow. It starts out very interesting then gets lost in unnecessary details and subplots to fill in the 48 episode quota set. A 16 or 24 segment episode stretched to the point that even fast forward won't help much. Actors okay but no chemistry at all and ending disappointing.
I'm so glad I found this drama. The potential for one of the best romantic drams was burdened by the acting and writer's concept of one female character that grated my nerves. and drained the effectiveness of this truly cute and entertaining drama. 45 episodes would have been better but the ending was so satisfying you have to give a pass The drama was 2/3rds mature and 1/3rd - well shall I say impossible to swallow. But the 2/3rd was so good the fast forward button saved me. Good watch and would recommend if looking for a good romance series.
Are you living in my head? These are my exact sentiments but I have been unable to articulate the feeling to anyone since I'm the only "addict" in my house. Can I say I am suffering from PTSD from Kdramas? The cliches, the overuse of music and sound effects and the lack of maturity or reality of most romances have just turned me into a monotonous emotionless viewer. To continue to watch dramas I have also turned to marathoning Chinese and Taiwanese dramas and they have had some refreshing storylines and excellent directing, editing, music, CGI, or cinematography. The stories always seem to move forward (although often sad) and there are enough characters (often 50 or more) to sustain a drama with more than 32 episodes. I have even started watching dramas from Thailand and some of them are really good and well done. Your article has a piercing reality check for me and I am burned out from watching Kdramas but like everything in life - change is good. Just needed to take a long break from them and I am doing that unless someone gives a 10 rating for a review (I'll check it out for a couple of episodes- but just drop if boring). Thank you for this excellent article.
Kim Soo Hyun is one of my favs and decided to check out some of his work. Stumbled on this movie. All I can say is "I needed to be on drugs" to watch or even begin to understand what was going on. Wish the writer would have been more audience directed in his storytelling. Could not follow the objectives or purpose. Good acting but a really bad script and director.
This drama could have been a 20 episode drama. The plot is simple amd less complicated.i started to love the first…
Less than 20. Characters for so immature I lived on the fast forward button. Last 2 episodes I just lingered for many days before finally finishing. Too unreal when dealing with the complications of relationships. However, I love cats -- so I watched.
The plot is honestly really unrealistic and every line is cliche. Female lead don't really have a character and…
Very good comment. You summed up my feelings completely. It seemed like a fantasy drama so many times I almost stopped watching.. But the male lead did lure me on to the finish. The FL was so irrevelant in this drama - more of a plastic doll figure. I wouldn't recommend for sensitive viewers but if you've basically seen it all - this one is a quick filler drama to watch.
One of these dramas that could be filmed and edited in one half the time. Wanted to finish since invested so much time in it - but had to do it at Fast forward speed. Age gap was a little disconcerting but not distractng. Gave 7 rating.
