Jojo has 3 dramas next year? I'm really worried now. I would prefer Peaceful Property director to do this job…
Me too! P'Oaf only does one show at a time and makes it a masterpiece. I'm glad he took Ticket To Heaven coz I like the theme a lot but I'm also sad that he's not working with TayNew. They have so much potential that only P'Oaf can utilize.
Idk if the director will be able to do justice because he's gonna have his hands full with 3 dramas next year but I trust my babies TayNew. They'll give it their best <3
P'Dome (the director) doesn't want to direct a bl. He said he doesn't know how to handle one.
No it's not about bl or straight show. He said he doesn't know how to direct romantic scenes. It does require good skills. He almost rejected PP cuz he thought it's a love story lol.
I don't know where you got this impression that Sheng Wang was supposed to be scared, shy and not likable - that…
Oh, my bad. I once read some news about them doing a movie together so when I saw Fandy I thought the other guy is also the lead from crossing the line haha

Yeah me too I won't be able watch it again. I agree with your thoughts about Go Young not getting enough character development. It felt like he was still going to make the same mistakes. Him going to Bangkok also didn't make any sense. I liked the flashback parts more. Maybe the Bangkok part was there to make him relive those moments with Gyu Ho.

Heyy, so I decided to get back to you after finishing Love in the Big City to share my views and you were so right! I feel emptier. The show started out on a somewhat lighter note but as it progressed and as Go Young grew older it got so gloomy. I know it isn't a regular bl with giggles & typical happy endings but still the climax left me feeling hollow.
The acting is too good. The lead actor is so brilliant that he managed to have chemistry with all of his partners. He was very convincing as a broke & lost queer guy who makes mistakes and deals with heartbreaks. Although I hated the fact that he let Gyu Ho go so easily when he was his one true love. He accepted him with all his flaws and even Kylie. Even Go Young wasn't as used to living with Kylie as much as Gyu Ho was. He was such a sweetheart. No matter how much Go Young tried to sabotage their relationship, Gyu Ho kept loving him & stayed optimistic. He could've atleast tried to contact him or something 😭 they were so perfectly imperfect together. They didn't deserve such a heartbreaking ending. I like how realistic the show is. There's no sugarcoating, no dreamy slo-mo sequences— just real life in it's original & raw form. It's rare to find such hard hitting queer shows these days. But then again watching it made me realise why I watch romance shows especially in bl genre in the first place. It's to escape the reality. As much as I like realistic and borderline angsty shows I don't think I'll tune in to another such show in the near future cuz I can't deal with this kind of emptiness again. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and one of the best lgbtq+ representions in recent media.
There's a limited series called Fellow Travelers that deals with similar struggles of the queer community. It's just as realistic & painful. The chemistry was too good though. I watched it earlier this year when it first came out. You can give it a try whenever you feel like breaking your own heart 🥲
Wang is not annoying. Every scenes of this drama is perfect. It's up to you but don't ask us why people gave this…
I literally mentioned that you're entitled to your opinion bruh 😂 why would I try to talk you into liking it? I just asked you not to judge other people based on your opinion on a show since you were talking about the bar being low. Others can say the same about your taste. I'm nowhere offended lol

Perfect analysis of Sheng Wang's character and very well put reviews on other aspects of the show. Eric ATEEE this character and left no crumbs! I still pause & rewind the episodes at random scenes while rewatching just to catch his expressions HE'S SO GOOD. Both Eric & Benjamin are hands down two of the best bl actors out there.
I've been feeling empty ever since The On1y One ended. It's hard to find shows that are at par with the level set by shows like this. After reading your comment I feel like giving Love in the Big City a shot. Thanks for mentioning it!

C'mon now no one can decide the bar for others. I could also judge you for rating Cutie Pie high when it was unbearable to sit through. Should I just assume you don't have standards? No, right? It's just that we have different tastes. If you don't like this show, it's fine that's your opinion and you're entitled to it but acting like you're above us comes across as rude. I for one have never watched a step bro trope because it didn't appeal me but The On1y One is much more than that. And I always knew that they won't ever become actual step bros as their parents aren't gonna get married so it's just a theme.
It's beautifully shot, the actors have great chemistry, the characters have depth. Yes there were some filler scenes here and there but does that really matter? So many others here have a preference for subtle & natural dynamics which provided by the leads in a very meaningful manner. I don't know what is people's obsession with always assuming that they have elite taste when they don't like something that others do. I never liked KinnPorsche but most of the viewers loved it you won't find me going around telling everyone that the bar is low for them. It's just a matter of preferences.
I do agree with what you wrote about people hyping shows that don't even deserve it. There are so many mid shows that get attention for doing the bare minimum. But I don't think this show is one of them. It has that warmth and wholesomeness that's rare to find in any kind of show these days. It deserves all the love. The ending was abrupt but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very heartfelt show. Really hope season 2 comes fast and fills the void that the ending left.
I don't like saying goodbyes. Have left last 2 episodes for now. If, and, whenever season 2 starts I'll start…
Oh you should definitely watch up until the first half of the 12th episode. It's really cute. It's focused more on Sheng Wang's pov and it's lovely to watch him discover himself.
