someone spoil it for me, in the book, how does he save her from the core? does he absorb it himself? i feel a…
The book is drama-free. No core, no toxic stalker 2ML and 3ML, the Taoists and demons don't hate each other, no angst at all. They are happily married through most of the book. It's more of a slice of life romantic comedy. There are a few times they fight demons, but in the book the ML is so over-powered the fights are over in a paragraph.
Are we really entering amnesia arc? lolThough I don't like this trope generally, I don't hate it either. I'll…
I didn't see the preview, but in the book she drinks medicine that turns her into an eight-year-old with no memories of her adulthood. The poor husband has to take care of her, and she is a really mischievous kid.
But the book has no drama or breakup or crazy 2ML or 3ML and is just a cute comedy-romance about a free-spirited wife and a straight-laced husband. In the book the amnesia is done for comedic purposes to watch the uptight ML try to take care of an unruly child.
It is brief and only lasts like a chapter. Not sure how it will play out in the drama.
Novel reader, is in novel Wu Zhen ask for divorce too?
The novel is totally different. There is no angst, even when they discover each other's identity. The novel is pretty much dram-free. It's a super cute and funny love story. No love triangles, crazy stalker 2Ml and 3Ml, or even really antagonists to speak of.
On episode 28, MZY sets up a formation for the Sinister Fiend Infant. A black spirit emerges from the Demon Market…
I can't understand Chinese, so I don't know what they're saying, but to me in the Ep 29 trailer she looks possessed. It looked like they were fighting the thing together and then she suddenly turned on him.
The novel is totally different. The Taoists aren't at war with the demons in the novel, As long as the demons…
He's much weaker in the drama. In the book they frequently say he is the strongest Taoist, even stronger than the master. They made him weak in the drama, probably to add dramatic tension to the fights.

In the novel the ML masks his power making him look human to other Taoists and demons, but in the book he is *extremely* OP. Like he beats a demon god in a minute without getting hurt kind of OP.
To further demonstrate the non-issue of the "big reveal",, one of the things the FL does once she finds out her husband is a super powerful Taoist priest is she drags him to the demon market and asks him to unmask his power, because she thinks it will be funny watching all the demons freak out when this super powerful Taoist strolls through the city.
So that's what she does. After laughing and all the demons panicking, she then tells them it's okay, that he's her husband and is harmless.
Then the demons want to kiss up to her, so they shower the poor guy with gifts, and he ends up in the middle of the demon market looking like a Christmas tree with presents hung all over him.
After the identity reveal, what happened? any novel spoilers
The novel is totally different. The Taoists aren't at war with the demons in the novel, As long as the demons aren't killing people the Taoists don't care about them. The "big reveal" in the novel occurred after they battle a plague god, and neither the ML or FL really cared when they found out.
The book has almost no angst or drama. They are engaged before the first chapter, married less than a third through…

Not surprised who the benefactor of the cousin was. I watched some previews so...for those who read the novel,…
The book has almost no angst or drama. They are engaged before the first chapter, married less than a third through the book, and are sweet and in love throughout the whole story. No love triangles (no crazy stalker 2ML and 3ML), misunderstandings, breakups, etc.
The conversation following the big reveal of their identifies goes something like, "So you're a Taoist priest?" "Yes" "Cool, I'm the demon cat lord" "Okay" "Let's go home and eat dinner" "Sure"
The fights in the novel are finished in a paragraph. There are no crazy stalker 2ML and 3ML in the novel. The Daoist monks know about the demon market and don't hate demons (unless a demon kills a human). The main couple is engaged before the novel starts and married less than a third of the way through it.
Killing a "Plague god" takes a few paragraphs in the book, while events like "Let's go shopping in the market", "Lets host a dinner party" and "Let's go the Dragon Boat festival get an entire chapter or more. The novel is basically a slice of life that follows a super cute lovey dovey madly in love couple who happen to be a demon lord and the strongest Daoist monk in the word.
The "dramatic tension" in the novel, if you want to call it that, is from watching a super extroverted party animal wife married to a super socially awkward introverted husband. With a comedy and romance focus.
I really like the book. It's just totally different from the TV show (which I really like as well).
Bored waiting for new eps so I started reading the novel. I'm about 2/3 finished and wow, very different. Almost no angst. I would classify the novel as: romance, comedy and slice of life.
Yes. But it's a C-drama, so you have to have tropes. I'm bored, so let's list them.
Harem, reverse harem, CEO, Prince. Poor guy who is actually a CEO or a prince, ML being FL childhood friend, leads having met as children (but one somehow doesn't remember it), contract marriage, amnesia, falling off a cliff (usually paired with amnesia), time travel, reincarnation, girl tripping and falling into guys arms, guy slamming the wall next to girls face (this one is dated), misunderstandings (perpetuated by no one willing to communicate), college dorm room the size of an average house, full makeup and perfect hair when waking up, spitting up blood (any c-drama injury causes this. Step on someone’s foot - they spit up blood), parents who died in an accident, ML’s random allergy or phobia to show he’s “flawed” or vulnerable (Despite being handsome, rich, smart, best in the world at whatever his occupation is, speaking nine languages and having six Olympic gold medals), Simp ML, toxic 2FL, stalker 2ML, toxic mother, kind grandmother, kind but not very bright father, overbearing chairman father…what am I missing?

It's that impactful to their relationship.
