How could the Zhao King just trust Mao Sui so absolutely like that? I mean on what basis can Mao Sui promise to extract the CP from Qin? He has no means to deliver on such promise. Or was Zhao King just letting him go because he knew he had no choice?
Also what dirt did the Zhao Yan have on Mao Sui to be able to make him betray Zhao King and his principles like that? I just saw they got him drunk but not sure what else went down.
I get the impression she's fictional. Ying Zheng never had an empress or favourite lady or something.
Yeah he is definitely one messed up and fascinating character so I totally hear your initial reservations on the actor. I am still hoping that he can deliver later on on this truly interesting historical figure... Thankfully the surrounding characters so far are really amazing and can hold audience interest.

Yes to some extent Littlefinger but for the fact that the sum total of his best ideals can be contained in one little finger... The multiple POVs is what keeps it interesting. So far for example I am not really feeling Ying Zheng but it doesn't matter bc everyone else is so interesting.

I agree that whole are you my dad dialogue was just cringe. I can see an adolescent Ying Zeng asking the question but a 40 year old actor playing and adolescent having that completely unnecessary conversation is just not good. Having said that I get why they chose to have him debut so soon. Both he and Zichu look very alike both in stature and facial features but Zichu's expression is kinder while Ying Zheng's is more cruel. But in a very unspoken way it implies they are biological father and son. That came across vividly in the military parade / public hand over of power scene.
Airplay is fine if you are not trying to do anything else on the device you are watching from but during the week I am half working at night while I am watching so I keep getting kicked out of the airplay - its the same for Youku so even though I have the VIP, a lot of times I just wait for the episodes to get downloaded onto my internet box. But over X-mas break etc I usually use it anyway bc I have more time. iQiyi's ATV app is the best but its only international version is available.

I switched out of my local iQiyi VIP to the international bc the international has an ATV app. But since I used the same phone/cc/email, I can also access the local but I have to airplay from my ipad or computer which is just a pain. It doesn't work smoothly if I want to use my device at the same time so I usually don't bother but yes, I can indeed watch more episodes that way. It is also why I refuse to subscribe to WeTV until they have an ATV app I just don't want to have to aiprlay.

LOL, the Han army was definitely in purple. It is so unusual even I noticed it I don't believe I have ever seen a purple Chinese army before.
Hua Yang is a tough old bird. I don't know enough of the history of the palace schemes but her attempt to seize the throne is so daring I am impressed. Zhuchi is too nice, he is a wise but weak king.
