Yeah I thought this was gonna be a short and sweet drama but now those 32 episodes seem to be very long... the jokes are unoriginal and not that funny.

Wow bravo for Dilraba - she is actually ugly crying and she managed to make me cry along with her! So many other actresses in her beauty category would never be caught dead doing it, they can't help themselves. She has really come a long way. Bravo!

The Douban rating is the highest compliment - it has won the high praise of the super picky, eagle eyed Chinese viewers. Even though it is disappointing the MDL rating is not higher, it is exactly the same as Douban (for once; MDL is usually much higher).

I don't understand why Haodu is hunting Changge like a rabid dog. This seems personal - why does he resent her so much? I don't think I can root for this character, I don't like him at all he is no better than Shuyu.

Ghost Valley is a refuge for people (usually criminals) to escape their past - they are supposed to drink the potion to let go of their past demons and start fresh.

I agree completely. To be honest, I was never that impressed with her she was just another pretty face. And a very pretty one at that. But her acting was not bad but it was not good either. Then along comes ELOD and my god, that was nauseating - especially the many retarded monologues. Everyone that survived those deserves a medal. I blacklisted her for awhile after that and I had serious reservations about her in this one but I love Wu Lei so I watched anyway. To my surprise, she has really improved and it is not fair to bash her for her past faults in this drama bc IMHO so far, she is killing it.

I am not having any issue whatsoever with the age difference in this drama - honestly no one will comment if they didn't know the ML/FL age. Idk why its a recurring topic but if that is all people have to complain about then it is a good thing.

There are a lot of undertones in the first 2 episodes that I hope they come back and tie up later. Like for example, the FL's mother seemed to know the coup was already going down when she sent her daughter away. Judging from history, Li Shimin was quite ruthless and the dynamics between him and his brother seem to be kill or be killed. I hope they don't whitewash his character here.
