Title The Wolf
I find most Chinese dramas easily dated and The Wolf, with the three years delay in airing, has not escaped this…
Ji Chong is an eagle - also well cast with Xiao Zhan's long neck and they styled him to look like one too. I think (but am not sure) that Xingér must be a butterfly.

I confess I thought he was a bit of a turd in the beginning but he definitely grew on me...

Well by some accounts Little Red Riding Hood was originally an adult folktale about a girl who has trysts in the woods with a rogue. The story was adapted into the current child appropriate form... kind of like c-dramas including The Wolf after emerging from censorship...

I'm unbelievably over the white foundation that's currently in use for just about every Asian drama. I love, love,…
LMAO... you mean to say the Trump tan is hopelessly outdated... and cheap by current standards! Taiwan and HK are very Western and their actors frequently sport natural tans. It doesn't actually look the least bit orange on my TV...

Wow honestly I found this show darkly riveting but not that sad... until I got to the mid-30s at best I teared up but wasn't bawling. But now, it just feels really, really heartbreaking...

I am only at 38, so far she has not married anyone but I believe she marries Ji Chong.

Ah... yes... it is really tough times, I totally feel you.

Unfortunately the negative aspects of this relationship are more like Ding Quan and Wenxi... I guess you could say Bo Wang in a different way is as much of a naive fool as Guo Jing but Xing'er is unfortunately not as smart as Huang Rong.

Like you, I agree that the three roles are well acted and I am someone who likes grey or controversial characters, who to me, both men are and I enjoy constructive conversations about all of them and the different views people have on them. That said, to be fair, I don't believe @ChineseDramaFan is specifically targeting anyone, she has been consistently commenting on Xiao Zhan fandom generally. I happen to know she herself is probably the biggest Xiao Zhan fan among us and she is one of the nicest viewers on this site. I don't think however, that it is fair or appropriate to repeatedly denigrate someone else's opinion by suggesting it is unworthy simply because they are blinded by lust over the actor which has obviously been done here repeatedly. Further, her comments on Bo Wang are just that, she does not take aim at anyone else specifically either, she is just expressing her liking for the character and her analysis of his actions. I don't agree with all of it either but in general, it is insightful and offers an interesting perspective that doesn't deserve to be silenced by such poor tactics.

Well it is that kind of fan behavior that got Xiao Zhan banned for a long time. So instead of helping him they hurt him. If anyone gets too out of line I just block them.

Tyvm my dear - I was very busy half working while watching the first part and I had to put it on hold for awhile. But I agree the nuances matter a lot I understand and mostly agree with you wrt what his intentions are but I am a bit fuzzy on the sequence of events in the early episodes.

Hi people, if you're just going to hate on Prince Bo or just any other character, make a discussion for it. I…
I don't mind the discussion to take place on the main thread even though I hate spoilers and I don't open them unless I know it relates to a part I have watched. The problem with what you suggest is that it would be a free for all spoiler conversation that someone like me cannot go on to without getting spoiled on parts I haven't watched. What I find very helpful is people either indicate the episode or the topic and then hide everything else in a spoiler. Then I can decide what to open and know what I can go back and open. What you suggest only works for people who are done watching and want to have an all out discussion of the drama.

Yes he is really the one with 狼心狗肺. Its amazing how it is possible to have a much more constructive and critical discussion of the characters with mainland viewers. People here forget that Xiao Zhan loves playing grey characters - Wei Wuxian is one of the most flawed fictional characters out there. Ji Chong is another one. He has done a great job with it btw so its again not knocking the actor at all.
