Am I the only one who's not confused about the drama, seems like haven't really gotten the grip of it
Not sure what you are asking - are you confused or not confused?

Did some people drop it or not? Honestly, I’m really hesitating. I just can’t get into it — it doesn’t…
ZYR was terrific in 12 Letters. I think he is pretty good here too but the director is overly fond of making idol dramas seems to be asking him angle his face down and glower into the camera a tad too much. It’s not the most natural camera angle and something this actor doesn’t usually do.

im just in ep two and i just love how they build up the romance of Cai Ping Shu. Also it differs from so many…
I was hesitant when I saw this was by the writer of LLTG. I found the story to be good but the FL to be selfish, spoilt and unlikable. I really like both the ML and FL in this story so much better.

Whenever I explore a potential new Cdrama I look to see if you wrote a review; I find them very helpful! No pressure…
Thank you for reading. I have been super busy and fallen behind but hopefully can catch up soon.😅

will this drama be added to the Iqiyi catalog? I saw a tweet saying it would, but it's not there.
I am watching on WeTV. iQiyi may only have joint China rights with Tencent.

Yes that is the case with all wuxias. It is a feature of the genre. You either like it or you don’t - not for…
As I posted earlier on, the subtitles are pretty poor. Writing can always be better but I don't find this that unclear and I don't mind the show not tell approach.🤷🏻‍♀️

The way this drama is set up in the early eps really reminds me of the Wuxias of the olden days of HK tv w/ Andy…
Yes - this is my wuxia fix! So good!

There are way too many characters, the mother/daughter relationship is unbearable, and I’m sorry but the brothers…
Yes that is the case with all wuxias. It is a feature of the genre. You either like it or you don’t - not for everyone.

Martial arts, but for fl she isnt there to train they have a rule to send the daughters away when they become…
Yes indeed Zhao already knows martial arts and is there for other reasons but OP was asking about sect members broadly.

What exactly are the sect members learning at the sect that the fl is currently at? I feel like I’ve never seen…
They should be learning martial arts. There were quite a few scenes where they were training, esp of Zhao’s friend Xiaolan struggling to balance on the wooden blocks.

In ep 3 zhou yi ran action sequence was rlly good and I dont know why people are saying the editing is bad?
There are some bad edits and odd cuts for sure but it doesn’t really inpact the storytelling. The dubbing hqwever is not timed well so even though the leads are probably dubbing themselves, their lines aren’t always synced to their lip movement. And I was confused by the many comments about following the story line so I checked out the subtitles and they aren’t good. I think a lot of detail in the dialogue was not well translated. Hopefully it’s cleaned up after the Chinese new year break. I did send feedback to WeTv about the quality of the subtitles and I encourage everyone else with a subscription to do the same.

Calling it now Yu Zhi about to turn evil
Seems to me if anyone turns bad it’s more likely Dai Fengchi. Yuzhi strikes me as a rock solid good guy who has had it with his bratty fiance.

Mid-4th ep (life gets in the way), this is surprisingly interesting. I haven't watched the ML or FL in anything…
Couldn't agree more! The story pulled me in from the start bc they dangled so many hooks that I kept watching even though I am not a binger. And if you pay attention, the storytelling is not confusing at all. Zhou Yiran is one of my favorite young actors - he is subtle where too many idol actors overact and over emote. And he is not overly obsessed with his camera angles. He was fantastic in Twelve Letters. And I love this pairing with Bao Shang'an. I like how she was sceptical of him and asks all the right questions.

i had a feeling you would like it with all the sect plot
So far it is a very solid mystery jianghu story, so far better than many I have watched recently. I am glad they zipped through all the characters/sects etc - as the backstory/sect set up is super standard for this genre. The real hook is the unraveling of the past grudges and conspiracy and the identity of the ML and his relationship to Chang Fort. He is quite grey and he has secrets. I can't wait to find out more.

After having watched more episodes, I tend to agree with everyone saying the editing is not great. For someone…
Ling Bo and her Song Yuzhi fiance should be maternal cousins, something they are only hinting at bc it was widespread practice in ancient times but illegal today. Yuzhi's maternal grandpa is the previous Qingque sect master Yin.

I believe the passage of time is mentioned in passing in the dialogue or its flashed onscreen. Its not the best way to do it for sure. The FL trained for 10 years in martial arts since she was a child by her aunt Cai Pingshu, who was a martial arts legend. Of course the sect can't teach her jack shit.

That's actually what I like about it. It's intriguing enough to make me want to know more.

Regardless both are actors I haven’t been able to watch since this train wreck so I think it’s more than just…
I only enjoyed Gong Jun ‘s acting in WOH but seems to me he was just being himself. As for Dilraba I think she is exquisite but her acting is very mediocre and she is very aloof - she doesn’t really connect with any of her costars. Even when she is smiling and acting all cutesy and lovey her eyes are detached. I have very low interest in making time for any of her coming dramas.

Regardless both are actors I haven’t been able to watch since this train wreck so I think it’s more than just Gong Jun doesn’t vibe with women. They are both very good looking but otherwise uninspired actors.
