I have mixed reactions about the ending... Keeping in mind how the entire drama was rooted in Realism..this ending makes sense, there would be no way a sinister villian who would use a child to get details on convoy on kill them would divulge the antidote..
What doesnt make sense is why the whole poison arc? It doesnt really add anything to the plot...he not being poisoned would make more sense

Part of Grief Reaction ..usually in Anger Phase of acute grief...just like people blame doctors for death of patients, blame someone else to ease one's suffering...it is quite common

Did you read these articles yourself? It clearly mentions blood splatters and they have also shown illustration of distance from the the shot and distance of blood splatter... And if we go by your hypothesis of no splatter...there will be oozing of blood out of wound for sure..there was no oozing of blood from the chickens in scene
