LOL, I'm sorry but no, emotion ruining his reflexes? Wuuuuh? LOL, not buying that, not by a long shot. Not for a guy like Doc. Doc was TOO good an agent for that to happen. I may have been able to accept that he got shot, but not fatally.
And BOTH HM & Doc turned their guns on Min when he attempted to pull it the first time! And again when Min started to reveal his misdeeds. Watch it again! :)

I've heard that My Daughter Seo Young is pretty good. I hope you stick with it so I can look forward to your feedback.
Well, I just finished J-drama Nagareboshi. It was just okay for me, gave it a 6. I had hoped the story would develop in a different direction, but in typical Japanese fashion they focused on all the irrelevant things (like uninteresting, boring secondary characters ... meh).
I don't know what to watch now. I've just been tipped off about Queen of the Game. I don't really like Lee Bo Young, but I love me some Joo Jin Min or what's his hot face so I'm thinking of giving this a go! Have you seen it?

It's amazing how differently viewers can interpret a scene. I didn't see what you wrote at all.
At the beginning of the altercation, HM had his gun on Doc, but when Min arrived & made an attempt to draw his weapon they both turned their guns on him. Moreover, despite their differences HM & Doc were allies. They had an understanding.
And even if Doc had let down his guard somewhat, he had much superior reflexes than what was portrayed. Min wouldn't have been able to shoot him, esp shoot to kill him, square in the heart. Sorry, it doesn't seem like we're going to agree on this. That ending was BAD and uncalled for! LOL :)

Hi Leanne, your article about our collective drama problems is SICK! LOL I particularly LOVE the ice cream cone problem. Man, am I going through that now with my latest crush, Lee Seo-jin! ;)
You have got to tell me what dramas are featured in Problem 10! I need to seem 'em bodies! Hotdamn! :)

Well, no, I hated it! And this isn't just an emotional reaction. I just don't think, given the type of guy Doc was, he would've just stood there & let Min shoot him in the heart. Think about it. BOTH Doc & Hyung Min were excellent marksmen. Both had their pistols aimed squarely at Min. How on earth was Min able to reach behind his back, draw his gun and discharge it with deadly precision and neither Doc nor HM reacted before Doc got shot in the heart? Come on! I think they did this to suit expectations of the genre rather than to fit in with the story & character they crafted.

Nice profile by the way. I'm browsing your blog now. I like your review of 3-iron! And I recently finished Cruel City. My review will be somewhat different, but we don't entirely disagree! :)

Hey, wha gwaan! :-)
Just read on the 'how did you learn english' thread that you grew up in a Jamaican household! So did I! My mom is Jamaican! :)
Always cool to meet other MDLers of Jamaican heritage. Where are you based? In the US?
I also read that you have a preference for Japanese cinema/TV. Any favs you'd like to recommend?
I have no preference really. There's something about all of them - Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese - that I appreciate! :)

Amazing! Indeed a very talented bunch. I've been meaning to watch Bara for the longest while. Now I have a reason to bump it up in my PTW queue. Are they still performing together or have they disbanded, do you know? I'll be searching up the other members too. Usually it's difficult for me to get excited about Asian music as I have their dramas. The main reason being if I don't understand what I'm hearing it's difficult to connect to it. There are a few exceptions, the OST of Cruel City for eg & in particular 'Everyday - You Are My Love' by Jo Jung Hee. LOVE that song! :) I haven't really formed an attachment to any Japanese band or music yet.
As for The Hotel Venus. It may be hard to find online. The friend who rec'ed it to me tipped me off on where to find it. Here's the link: http://www.veoh.com/watch/v17396339kxEBP77n
If you get around to watching it, I hope you enjoy it! :-)

Hehe, you're biased but at least you had the good grace to say so! :-) Moreover, you did point out in your review that a more rational you would have rated it a 9, which is still a pretty good score. I'll keep it in mind. I must say what awakened my interest was the gif on your profile. That nose kiss looks really sweet! :-)
As for Orange Days, all I can say is YES, YES and YES! It is such a beautiful little show. Watch it, watch it, watch it! I normally don't have the patience to deal with tortured heroines (though tortured heroes are fine! :), but I loved the heroine in this show. Her vulnerability was so heartbreaking! I loved that she found a man like Kai who was able to give her the love she needs. You'll understand what I mean when you watch it.
By the way, I can't remember if you've seen Lovers? Have you?

It is indeed fun to watch with Mom because we more or less have the same tastes! Sadly, my mom and I live halfway around the world from each other so there's no opportunity to watch anything together.
Omo, I just recently watched Kusanagi Tsuyoshi in The Hotel Venus & I liked him! THV is a Korean spoken Japanese film & he spoke Korean with THE sexiest Japanese accent! I really need to see more of him! :-) I plan to watch 1778 Stories of Me & My Wife soon. He plays opposite the actress who played Kimura-san's love interest in Pride. Interesting, I knew Kimo was in a band, but I didn't know with who. Who are the other members? Are they also actors, all of them?
I'd recommend you watch The Hotel Venus. I'd love to hear your opinion it. I've already seen it, but I need to watch it again to fully understand how I should rate it.

Omo, can you please give me a list of the dramas featured in your 'favorite or most memorable drama moments or couples' segment? I only recognized the scene from Nagareboshi because I just completed it! The others look really hot & I'd love to check them out! Thx! :-)
Oh and I see you're a fan of Lovers! That means you're an automatic friend of mine because I LOOOOOVE Lovers! I saw it recently & I'm still on a high! THE best drama overall & THE best romance drama I've seen since I got addicted. :-)

LOL, you've totally sold Can You Hear My Heart! I've been looking at it for a long time, but it kinda got 'friendzoned' (so to speak haha) like Lobbyist did for you! But I love the idea of a disabled hero. What can I say, they awaken my nurturing side, esp if they're hot, & it's a GREAT setup for romance if the heroine has to take care of him! :-) I'll definitely watch this in the very near future. Another one of your favs I've been eyeing is Bachelor's Vegetable Shop. Based on the poorly written synopsis it sounds similar to AGD, but with a younger cast. Am I right?
As for Naga here's the link: http://mydramalist.com/japanese-drama/275/nagareboshi
I finished it just now & gave it a 6. Not a bad drama, but it didn't live up to its potential. Too much focus on secondary characters to the neglect of the more interesting lead pair. Found myself bored in some parts.

Sumi, sorry for the late reply! I didn't realize that you had responded to me on feed!
Anyway, if you're still experiencing your vacation blues & still want to try something Korean that will make you laugh how about a short movie rather than a long drama? I recommend these: Petty Romance & My P.S. Partner. Both will make you laugh & release some of that stress.
It's been awhile since I visited your profile. We have a lot in common. I'm also in my 30s & I don't like it. I wish I could have stayed 28 forever. And I now realize my time as a student was perhaps the best time of my life. I only had to worry about passing my exams. Ironically though I couldn't wait to start working & earning my own money so I never anticipated the stress & disillusionment that comes with being a working professional or that I'd graduate in the middle of a recession! Life sure can be a bitch! :-)
Haha. Mad! This article had me cracking up.
After watching Lovers & falling madly in love with Lee Seo-jin I can soooo relate to the ice cream cone problem! Hehe
And omo, WHICH dramas are those stills from problem 10 from? JHC! Someone please tell me! Wow! Wow! Wow! ***fangirlalert***

As for what I'm watching ... it was a struggle to find anything interesting after CC. I started watching jdrama Nagaboreshi out of desperation & because I liked the synopsis. It's not really the drama I'm in the mood for right now, but so far I've kept watching even though I'm not really invested in the characters (yet). I hope it gets better soon. Otherwise I'm thinking of watching The Lobbyist next or maybe Can You Hear My Heart. Everyone says that's a great drama with a sweet romance. Have you seen it? If so what do you think? I also have a couple movies lined up, but I've been waiting for my manfriend to finish watching CC so we can watch them together. He's not that into the Asian addiction so he's taking his sweet time finishing a drama I completed in 2 days.

Ugh, that's EXACTLY what happened in CC. Doc is an amazingly cunning, clever, clandestine type of character! Excellent warrior, yet when he got killed he basically just stood there & let the other person kill him. It was so illogical to the type of character he is! He could have easily taken that bastard down. What's more he had an ally with him at the time of his death, but neither he nor this person was able to disarm the killer before he wiped out Doc. I mean it's just total bullshit! Just remembering it makes me mad! LOL
Anyway, I saw the comment Allyson made about it being an open ending. Trust me, it is not! This is just wishful thinking on the parts of devastated fans based on the fact that an earlier version of the script had an alternate ending where Doc survived. I don't know why that's relevant though when in the drama itself he's as dead as a doorknob!

Hi, me again. Sorry I keep bugging you, but something I've been meaning to ask is how are you able to write such long posts? I see the posts you write to Akumi & many of them are over the character limit, sometimes by 500 - 700 characters (I checked by copying & pasting your posts in a new comment box just to see how long they were!). How are you able to do that? I think most people are only able to type about 1800 words. Sometimes MDL confuses me with how it works. Are you some sort of secret premium member or do you have a high weighted average in reviews/comments/friends/whatever that allows you to write longer posts than average users? It's no big deal, mind you, I'm just curious! :) Come to think of it Akumi seems able to write very long posts as well, even though I have checked any of hers. They just look longer than the average comment I've seen from other users...
