Yeah me too. I always check people who send requests. Not because I'm expecting them to be crazies, mind you, but because there are a lot of kids on MDL. Too many if you ask me. I wish the site attracted a more mature audience but oh well ...

What are you watching these days? Did you check out any of the movies I rec'ed ya? I watched a really hilarious romantic comedy yesterday. It was so good. I was laughing my ass off. It's called Petty Romance. Seen it?

Wow, your Norwegian is still great! I think if I move back to the States I'd totally forget Norwegian after a year or two.

No, I didn't know you had 2 boys! How sweet. Do you share them with your Norwegian ex?

I love kids, but I'm of two minds about having them. On the one hand I love the idea of having my own family, kids to love & yell at! haha ... On the other I still feel like I haven't accomplished much in my life yet to bring children into the world.

Ahhhh ... what to do, unnie?! lol

By the way, you called yourself 'old' in your last post. You're not that much older than me and I ain't old so neither are you! :-)

Hey did you see my post on feeds about my crazy encounter or did you read all those weird azz posts on my wall? Is that why you asked about spamming mdl crazies? I'd totally do it by the way. lol

Thx a lot for rooting me on! It's a lot of work & I'm not the best sales woman (biggest part of being a producer if you're not a name), but I'm getting better. And I just love what I do! :-)

I have several ongoing projects. A doc which is a co-production with another filmmaker - I don't make docs of my own accord, I'm more into fiction films. Then there's my 1st feature film which is still being developed, script wise. Two short film projects which I'm trying to secure financing for now. Yesterday I got rejected by the Norwegian Film Institute for 1 of them, but I also have some good prospects with other funds so I'm still optimistic we'll make all or most of our budget. Fingers crossed! :)

Hyun Bin, was surprised that he turned out to be a pretty decent actor! Thought he was just another pretty face like Lee Min-ho! My fav Asian actors are all men! haha They have looks & talent! :)

By the way, I see that you dropped Smile, You, a drama I've only heard good things about. Why was that?

It annoys me too. They should really find their own men. But I couldn't imagine what in the world was going through Toru's mind although it was Yoko who kissed him first. While watching the drama I loved to hate him because of his outrageous behaviour. It's a good thing he's cute ... ish & not completely irredeemable. It was GREAT to finally see the mighty Toru Hyuga in love in the special. I really hope they make another sp or a movie or something!

As for something lighthearted, definitely check out Petty Romance. Funniest thing I've seen in ages!

What dramas do you plan to watch next? I have no idea what to watch. Any recs?

I saw 13 Assassins last year at a film festival, just around the time I was becoming an Asia addict. Pretty good samurai movie with epic fight scenes & striking cinematography. I liked it. I also want to see Ran, but it's been difficult to come by online. Let me know if you find it anywhere.

Your challenge seems great for variety. I need to watch more outside my comfort zone. I've been in a genre slump (only watching 1 genre) for months now, but I'm slowly getting out of it. From your list, I've seen 4 titles, the most recent being Petty Romance. Omg, that movie is so hilarious!

Asian dramas adhere to a very rigid formula that never fails to push me into a slump if I watch them back to back. You're always seeing the same sequence of events over & over & I lose interest super fast as a result. So I've learned to pace myself. Several movies for every 1 drama. Works gr8! :)

Oh, I think I'm now in love with Hyun Bin after World. He's one fine looking oppa. Omo! And he can act too. His eyes are the best tools of his trade. So expressive.

I had a few issues with the drama myself. I didn't really care for his girlfriend. She was indeed quite selfish & totally incapable of seeing how her behaviour affected others. I also didn't care for the relationship. I hate these childish on/off relationships that permeate k-dramas, if the couple is already an item. I mean can't they find more creative ways to develop conflict? Grrr...

I'm always in the mood for a good romance with good kisses. If you can think of a Japaanese one as well as Korean, that's awesome.

What other Hyun Bin drama, besides Secret Garden bcuz I can't abide by Ha Ji Won, did you enjoy?

Thx for the links! :-)
I wish I had the time to participate in these challenges. Lately though I've adapted a new method to choosing dramas outside my comfort zone.

What I do is choose 5-6 dramas from various genres and ask my chingus to vote on which one to watch. The drama that got the most votes, even if it's not one I'm most excited to see, I watch. It worked great the other day when my friends on feed chose Love Shuffle for me to watch. I really enjoyed the show.

Anyway, I can't watch dramas back to back otherwise I get burned out really fast & end up in a slump. That's why I love watching lots of movies in between.

What other movies do you have lined up? May I rec you one?
It's called Oasis. Odd little movie with a pair of unlikely leads, but I found it quite interesting. Check it out if you like the synopsis. Glad you liked Eros! You should watch Sweet Room too! :-)

Don't worry, Toru is a bit slow & bi-polar, but he won't let you down.

The romance was a bit disappointing for me too at first, but I've come to expect this from Japanese cinema. They don't seem to be a very romantic lot. But there's a scene of heartwarming solidarity between Toru & Makoto coming up that I think you might like.

Didn't like that kiss between Toru & Yoko. Not one bit, but I decide to let it slide since the following eps were quite good, romance wise.

If you're not too tired be sure to watch the special as something of an ep 11. The romance is slightly better in that. Not by far, but more than in the drama.

What do you have lined up to watch next? Watching any flicks?

Hey, long time no chat. How is it going? I see you're on a movie binge. Hope you're having fun! I myself am more of a movie person than a drama person, though these days after long stressful days at work I end up watching those silly romcoms I normally DON'T watch just to relax & release some of the tensions of the day.

Anyway, where did you find the movie Time? I'm a fan of director Kim Ki-duk & have been trying to get through all of his movies. I know it's on youtube, but I can't watch it in the format that it's in on there. I need to have the picture on widescreen.

Did you by any chance download it from somewhere? By the way, if you haven't yet checked out 3-iron, by the same director, I highly recommend that you do. Awesome movie! :)

Did you really go & edit all your posts on my wall?! Trying to erase the evidence of your silliness, are you? Or maybe not ... considering what you've replaced it with.
LOL ... dude, and then you say you aren't a kid ...? Aigooo ...

Hi Unnie, sorry for getting back at you so late. Had a short break from work, then was back it like a maniac.

Anyway, was Dog & Wolf so good? I have it on my PTW list, but must admit I wasn't in any rush to see it anytime soon. I was certainly planning to watch City Hunter before it. But now your enthusiasm has me intrigued. :)

What would you recommend? I think I want to see both so should I watch City Hunter or Dog & Wolf first?

What are you watching now? Any standouts? Wish I had the time to participate in challenges. I really need to watch more dramas, esp dramas outside my comfort zone. Saw Love Shuffle recently & quite liked it. LOVED Hyun Bin in The World That They Live In. First drama of his for me. Drama itself wasn't too bad. Better than most. Have you seen it?

Good that you're liking it. Toru Hyuga is an interesting enigma. No wonder Makoto keeps trying to figure him out. The special's pretty good too.

Really, when did you say artists follow their own rules in life & art? Trying to take credit for other people's words, are you?

And exactly how did I contradict myself?

Hitler applied for an art college, never got in and abandoned that interest for politics shortly after. And Einstein called himself a scientist many times ... because, tada, he was a scientist. His work can certainly not be classified as art. Odd that you don't know that when you seem so clever. Of course I could cite examples of the numerous times he referred to himself as a scientist but I can't be bothered because you're being silly & argumentative for no reason.

I was/am trying to be friendly and you're getting all worked up like a diva. LOL

But, it's all good, mate. I'll say thx again for the links to the film and leave you to brood over whatever has you in such a tiff. :)

I don't know about you but my experiences in life influence what I like and or dislike in dramas.

A lot of what happens in dramas can and do happen in the real world, esp relationships with huge age gaps. I've seen the vast majority of them end in bitter heartbreak for the woman & that's way I avoid them on TV. Sure they're times when you have to suspend belief, but in my opinion when it comes to this this ain't one of them.

Anyway, it's all good! We like what we like & dislike what we do. We don't need to explain or defend our tastes.

Thanks for the pics of Seo In Guk. This kid's the bomb. For real.

Oh boy, you are a prickly one, aren't you? Just relax & stop getting so worked up.

And you're wrong. Einstein called himself a scientist & Hitler a revolutionist.

Artists follow their own rules in life & art.

So what are you saying? That I am not an artist? How do you know?

Unnie, what's up? Sorry to be getting back at you so late. Work. work. work. I'm struggling to get a project off the ground. 50% financing in place, but it's beyotch trying to get the other 50%. Sigh...

Anyway, no, I didn't choose to watch World because of the kisses. It was because of the hotness that is Hyun Bin. I had heard so much about this man, but had never seen him in a drama. I hate Ha Ji Won (sorry if you're a fan) so I've avoided watching Secret Garden. World was the next best thing to 'meeting' him.

I wasn't disappointed. He was great! To look at ... amazing. Acting wise he did well too. And the fact that the intimacy between the characters seem realer than your average k-drama was a magnificent bonus. I loved that about the show. Not a perfect series, but better than most, imo. Amazing that it flew so under the radar on MDL. How are you liking it so far?

Ok, I just re-read what you wrote about chem, math, physics & I may have misinterpreted. My bad.

I still hate all three though. I'm a natural born artist. Don't like rules ... :-)

But, hey, you did write 'but ... I'm a good kid' so I'm just following your lead. Moreover, dude, if you're under 18 you're a kid. Just sayin'

HighFive!!!

Edinaa, how is it going? Sorry for the late reply. Been a little caught up at work.

Yes, I totally agree. Hyun Bin is one gorgeous, gorgeous man and he CAN act. I love especially his eyes. So expressive. The World They Live In was good, but there were a few things that annoyed me. Overall, though, it was a good drama & I can recommend that you watch it. Now that I've met Hyun Bin & love him (also not quite a fan yet, but boy is he gorgeous so its hard not to stalk him) and Secret Garden seem to be on so many favourites list I might one day break down & watch it.

I know Ha Ji Won is going to irritate the daylights out of me, but I'll try to focus on Hyun. Shouldn't be too difficult with a face like his! :-)

Have you started with Spartacus, S3? If so, how is it so far? I can't understand how come you don't have a fav character yet. Not even Sparty? :-)
