This outcome was not unexpected the only thing unexpected was how long it took to get here. I am saddened by this…
People have sex with other people 10 yrs their junior after their first meeting all the time. They're grown. It is not for us to judge. It is between them and their god. What every man, esp a celebrity like Park, should think twice about is seeking out an easy lay with drunk women. *I* am not absolving the woman of her personal responsibility. But society tends to so whether it's fair or not it's always the man who gets blamed when the woman decides she wants money or doesn't want to be labeled a slut.

Well, you're doing yourself a favour by not seeing it. It's one of 2 dramas, the other being Save the Last Dance for Me, I regret seeing the most. But since I watched them in the early part of discovering dramaland I'll cut myself some slack.
Anyway, exactly! You'll never catch me dead watching shows like Full House, Boys Over Flower or anything with 'flower boy' in the title etc. I know many of these series are classics & people love them, but I just can't stand all the cuteness & childish behaviour.
I don't love crying so I'll stay far away from melos!

I can't figure out what OTP means.
Yes, to me Buzzer Beat, Pride, Coffee Prince are all mature dramas. They deal with issues adults face in their love lives every day, & they deal with it in a mature, as opposed to a juvenile, school yard type of way. I don't know if you've seen k-drama 18 vs 29, but it is the perfect example of an inauthentic, juvenile romance. While watching the drama I felt like I was watching grown adults, who are supposed to be a married couple, act like 4 yr olds.
That's why I'm saying 'mature' doesn't have to mean explicit content. It can just mean less childish behaviour.
No, I hate melos. Melodrama & romcom are two of my least favourite genres. I'll watch them when my mood calls for it, but not as a habit. I like dramatic romances in which the characters face everyday problems, but overcome them while falling in love the best. For eg, the movie Always.

I understand your position. Which country do you live in?
I have my higher education (MSc) in business & here in this country where I live finding work in the cooperate world was & still is a real struggle. Being a business major I never ever thought I'd face unemployment when I finished college, but I did & a lot of my classmates still haven't found work 2 yrs after graduation. I guess there are just no guarantees no matter what you study.
I always knew I wanted to work in film, but I was in the same boat as you. Family was against it, friends laughed at me. I wasted many years doubting myself & trying to squash that dream. Now I wish I could get back all that time I wasted listening to people.
The film business is certainly not easy. I know in most countries the barriers to entry are very high. I think you have a sensible approach to going after your dream. Don't give up! :)

What can I say. Until Oct last year I've been watching western entertainment all my life & as you know they leave very little to the imagination.
I'm not saying I want Asian movies and dramas to be like that, but I do want the romance to be authentic. I want to feel, see and experience the chemistry, the love the characters have for each other.
Does that shock you? LOL
What's your opinion on this topic?

I like mature movies. Mature movies don't necessarily have to be explicit. Not always anyways.
It just means that they explore adult themes, in an adult way that your average Asian fluff romcom tend to avoid.
I also prefer if two people are supposed to be in love in a movie/drama that their physical interaction is believable. I don't want to see fake kissing or characters who are grown adults just mooning at each other like they're in kindergarten. It feels inauthentic to me and ruins an otherwise good show.
I want to see them hug, kiss for real, and if the story calls for it, have sex. Just acting like a real, normal couple rather than 2 strangers pretending to be a couple.
That's what I mean by mature.

I love both Korean and Japanese dramas, but there's something extra special about J-dramas. They have a very simple feel to them, not as glossy as Korean productions & they impart some very valuable life lessons. I love the emotions they invoke in me and how relatable they are to real life. Funnily enough, though, I enjoy K-movies waaaay more than J-Movies!
Is Cyborg She a romcom? I'm watching I'm a Cyborg But That's OK now. I heard those two movies are similar. True?

And don't worry, that would be a ridiculous reason to unfriend you! I really do NOT mind gays at all. I just don't want to watch them getting it on! LOL So please feel free to watch as many gay films/dramas as you like! But please don't unfriend me because I don't watch them. :)
I watch a lot of mature films, but I won't be in any rush to watch FF. I prefer seeing Jo with women so I can live vicariously through them! ha ha ha
And yes, I'm not into K-pop at all. Again please don't unfriend me! I'm open to conversion, though, so if you know of any good songs/bands I should be checking out, lemme know! ;)

I have Time b/w Dog & Wolf on the list. I'll definitely watch it, I just don't know when! Too many dramas, too little time!
Are you a fan of gay cinema? I'm not. Nothing against gays, mind you, but just not my cuppa. How far did they go with the guy-guy thing in FF? Based on your reaction sounds like they went verrrry far!
Who is Yoona? And yeah, he and Jung Eun Ji didn't have the hottest chemistry in Reply, but forget that. Forget Hoya. He & *I* would be sooo much better! Ha ha

I just had a look at your list and wow! You've seen a lot!
What has been the best and worse dramas you've seen?
To date I've only seen 19 dramas (21 if you include the one I dropped - I saw 15/16 so I basically saw it to the end - and the one I'm watching now). That's not a lot. For me the worst I've seen are some of the older k-dramas, 18 vs 29, Save the Last Dance For Me were not favourites. I find the one I'm watching now Devil Beside You pretty bad too! lol
Best would have to be: Pride, Reply 1997, Padam Padam, Buzzer Beat, Brother Beat.
What about movies? Are there any good romantic ones you can recommend?

Wow, you're the 1st person to have similar feelings of apathy toward Queen InHyun's Man as me! It was indeed very boring & pretty darn makjang if you ask me. I liked the chemistry between the couple & that 1 good kiss they had, but otherwise this damn show is overrated! :)
I checked out those two western series. Vikings look like a small rip off of Game of Thrones (which is an amazing series by the way! Can highly recommend if you haven't seen it). Even though I live in Scandinavia I don't think I'm going to watch it. I have many complicated feelings toward Scandinavians. The German one looks good. I'll wait for your review before deciding to watch. Generally I don't like military/war type dramas.
Besides Devil Beside You I've only see Autumn's Concerto which was very so-so for me too. I also think that T-dramas are poorly made. They look very amateurish with all that bad lighting.

Omo, aside from Son Ye Jin I haven't met any of your favs! Of course I know OF Binnie & recently I saw a pic of Lee Jun Ki. I agree, he's FOINE! I added a drama of his yesterday. Will have to get to it sooner rather than later.
Yah, I'm really starting to love Han Hyo Joo! And lordy lordy ... don't start mentioning Jo In-Sung's butt! This man is killing me softly. It should be illegal for one brother to be so damn goodlooking!
Ok, so you're a HJW fan, are you? Arasso, arasso ... I'm gonna stop picking on her just for you! :-) See? Na jutta chingu! lol
I watched the video & omo, omo, omo! This boy is too much. Ipo! Ipo! Ipo! The video's pretty unique, totally had me fooled, but I hope he isn't gay in real life! That's me being selfish! :)

I'll literally watch any and every genre (well, maybe not anything to do with military/war as I hate wars ...) as long as the story is interesting. One common denominator all genres must have for me to enjoy it, however, is romance. A real romance, not something hinted at or underdeveloped.
On the other hand, when I watch a particular genre is dependent on my mood. Sometimes I'll switch things up, other times I'll stick to one genre over a period of time. In the last several months I've only been in the mood for dramatic romances with happy ending! There are not that many of them, sadly! When I first discovered Asian cinema, I was shocked to discover how many of their films/dramas end in tragedy. It really depressed me & kinda forced me to gravitate toward more feel good, romantic stuff.
I don't think this is the end for him. He may have to lay low for a while. Then he may have to take on commercials & minor roles for his next few projects since the powers that be (directors, co-stars, the money men) may not want to risk casting him as a lead right off of something so serious. It will also help audiences to forget about the scandal since he won't be their main focal point. It all depends on how smart he is about his career, how smart the people he has around him -- managers, agents, etc -- are about his career. If he himself & the people around him think strategically he could go thru this unfortunate period relatively unscathed. Besides, Korea is a very patriarchal country. The system is designed to allow men, more so than women, to bounce back from scandals like these.

You dreamed of being a movie director, really? :o
Well, why don't you try being one then? What's stopping you? If it is really your dream, you owe it to yourself to try and follow it.
It has always been my dream to work in movies. First i really wanted to be an actress, but then my interest moved behind the camera to where you can actually control the story being told.
Being a director can be good fun, but it comes with a lot of responsibility. If your movies don't do well you'll have difficulty getting financing for your future projects.
Since the start of my career I've made 6 short films, 3 of my own & 3 co-productions. They've had varying levels of success & have traveled to many film festivals. Now I'm trying to get my first feature film off the ground while still producing shorts!

I've been struggling through Devil Beside You for weeks now. I tend to marathon dramas, but obviously it's not a fav since it is more of a task, rather than enjoyment, to watch each new episode. I have difficulty dropping dramas however so somehow I keep watching even though its torture.
