I did check your completed list, but I must have missed Happily Ever After. Anyway, yeah, Abe Hiroshi is lucky to have found such an understanding wife in Yukie because if it were me, I'd be flipping HIM over for flipping things over. LOL
I checked the films I haven't seen or heard of & they all look great. I've actually seen Finding Mr. Destiny & Midnight FM, but they're not on my completed list bcuz I feel I need to watch them again to really appreciate them. First time around I was a bit distracted & missed some crucial parts. Thx for the recs! Castaway sounds fun & quirky so I might watch that first. I'll add the others as I pare down my list. From your PTW list I've seen The Crucible, 6 Years in Love & Traces of Love. The Crucible is an amazing film, but quite dark. The other 2 are both watchable, but they're not films I'd readily rec, esp if you like happy endings.

Enjoy!

PS: Why do you put your posts as a spoiler, if they're not? Just curious.

This weekend I seem to be in the mood for period movies so I've been watching Yamada Yoji's Samurai trilogy: Love & Honor (with Kimura Takuya, yay!!!), The Hidden Blade, The Twilight Samurai ... in that order, although the order in which the films were released are the opposite. So far I've seen THB & L&H, both were good, but I enjoyed the story in Love & Honor a little better than The Hidden Blade. Plus watching my main squeeze Kimura Takuya do his thing is always a bonus. :-)

Drama wise, I'm trying to watch more Taiwanese dramas. I've started Devil Beside You and It Started with a Kiss. Generally I don't like high school dramas because I find them a bit childish & there's hardly ever any chance of a good kiss taking place ... haha. But I want to give these a fair chance before I drop them, if I do.

I hope you like Brother Beat. It suits your short attention span perfectly since the episodes fly by so quickly. Given that you're in the mood for movies how about the slightly quirky Happily Ever After? It doesn't show its characters in the best of circumstances, but it's an entertaining, thought-provoking film about life, love & the pursuit of happiness. I also just finished Love & Honor with the lovely Kimura Takuya. Really liked it. Both are good films with satisfying endings.

I look at my PWT list and wonder the same as you. Lately I've limited myself to 200 titles. I can't add another unless the list is under 200. I've limited my On Hold list to 50 titles. It stands at 51 now but I'm going to use the weekend to pick something off of it. Do you have any good recs of movies you've enjoyed?

It might helpful to state WHY the movie provoked such anger & hatred? Just a thought...

Oh dear, It Started With A Kiss & Devil Beside You are both high school dramas. I've only seen one episode of each and I'm already fed up with their childish antics. I'm actually considering if I should just skip ISWAK & go straight over to the sequel, They Kiss Again. In TKA the characters are married & deal with more mature dilemmas.

I want to watch more Taiwanese dramas, but not at any cost. ISWAK & Devil come highly recommended by a few people I know so I'm gonna hang in there a bit longer & see if they grow on me. Seriously, though, if they become too juvenile I WILL drop them.

Too bad about your Chinese friends & relatives. I kinda understand them a bit though. Since discovering Asian dramas I haven't really been that interested in Western cinema, esp TV shows, any more.

Life sure is funny! Sometimes I wish I was shorter because I love shoes. I'm a serious shoes freak & I LOVE sexy footwear. Problem is because of my height I become a moutain when I wear heels! Taller even than my yobo! I want to feel petite & feminine, not like a giant. :D

Yoo Ji Tæ & Ha Jeong Woo are on my favourites list. Yoo Ji Tæ also stars in One Fine Spring Day which was one of my weekend movie pics back in January. It's on your list.

Ok, thx for the heads up on HK dramas. I guess I won't be watching one anytime soon then! haha. I agree with you about J-dramas. That's why I love them on a different level than k-dramas. Korea seems to be a very image fixated country more than Japan. I started It Started with a Kiss & Devil Beside You recently. Hope they're good. Your sis-in-law is likely missing out on some good shows. You should share the addiction with her! :)

For me what's sexy about KT isn't necessarily his physical self, but his aura. KT has this enigmatic, magnetic, strong stage presence that sucks me in. Physically, Abe Hiroshi is more my type. I'm pretty tall (176cm) so I need me a tall oppa! I hear that South Koreans are the tallest among East Asians. So I'm in luck! Have you seen any movies with Yoo Ji Tæ and or Ha Jeong Woo? Some might argue that these guys are not classicly handsome men, but to me they're very handsome. I love them to bits. I haven't watched that many HK/Taiwanese/Chinese dramas, but guys like Mike He & Vic Zhou seem pretty nice. I'm looking forward to meeting them one day soon. I like that in Taiwanese dramas the kisses are mostly real & that the sexuality of the characters aren't glossed over like in K-dramas. :D

LOL, does he? I didn't notice that he has large eyes. I noticed that he's short, kinda skinny & typically not a guy I'd fall for but I luuuuurve him!

I'm tellin' yah, it's a good thing KT isn't my neighbour! My oppa would be in danger of being shelved. Haha

I presume you've seen Pride? Aside from that what's the best (romantic) KT drama or movie have you seen? I'll gladly accept any recs you may have.

RainFlower, you changed your name! I saw Rosie & I was like ... huh? Who the heck is that? lol

I finished Reply 1997 a few days ago. Wonderful little show! It took me a while to warm up to it, but once I did my feelings ran raging hot! Seo In Guk as Yoon Jæ ... OH.MY.GOD!!! I love that kid! Sooo gorgeous! :D Thanks for urging me to go for it. I'm gonna watch Smile, You as my next long drama. I've really done my homework this time around so I don't think it will disappoint me as much as Unexpected You.

Watching anything interesting now?

I did recommend Season of Good Rain to you long ago. Back when I had it up on my favourites list. It is a great little love movie, just like we like it. So yeah, watch it, you'll enjoy it, & like I wrote in my review Jung Woo-sung is verrrrrrrry handsome in it. You can also look forward to some badass kissing. I was actually planning on reminding you about it after you watch The Servant.

I Saw the Devil is a revenge movie so brace yourself going in. There are some gruesome scenes that might make you queasy if you have a weak stomach like me. Great, great movie though. LBH is at the top of his game. The closing scene stayed with me a long time after the credits rolled. You'll see what I mean when you watch. Enjoy :)

Hey Rose, we haven't talked since we became friends in November. How is it going? I just read through your profile and I so agree with you about the melos. I'll watch them on occasion, but generally I don't like them. Life's hard as it is. Are you watching anything interesting? Do you like long dramas? They are usually good at combining genres. I checked your list & noticed that you haven't seen Ojakgyo Brothers. I didn't like everything about it, but it was an okay drama. Not too heavy with a little action, a little love, and a little comedy. I'd also recommend Brother Beat. It's a j-drama (so only 11 episodes!) about a slacker mom & her 3 sons. It made me laugh a lot & the romance in it was very sweet (only down side, some pretty lame ass kisses, but that's Asian dramas for ya, as I'm sure you well know). Definitely worth a watch otherwise! :D

Finished Reply 1997 yesterday & it was GREAT! Wasn't feeling it at first, but it grew on me by the end. And gosh, LOVED the male lead who plays Yoon Jæ. What an eye candy! Hope he makes dramas & movies STAT! As for Queen In-Hyun's Man ... ah, QIHM. The drama I kinda love to hate. Actually, I blame the fangirls for making me hate this drama. They rose my expectations to epic proportions only for me to realize this was your usual k-drama trope, which would have been fine for me. Had they not convinced me what a fresh, innovative, non-cliche kiss fest it was. Only thing I loved about it? The couple & the ONE major kiss scene in it. Otherwise, the story was crap & had all the frustrating cliches k-dramas are known for. But definitely watch it for yourself. Just don't be like me & expect too much. Now Song Seung Hun ... with a body like that there's no way he's safe from me now!

I've only seen him in what appears to be his most well known work, Autumn's Concerto, and he was just meh for me. His spin in that drama has not enticed me to see him in anything else. Not that I'm opposed to watching him ever again. He's just not a priority. I'm looking forward to becoming acquainted with Mike He. He is, at the very least, cute. My hope now is that he can act too.

I hope you enjoy Happily Ever After as much I did. It's a thought-provoking, sweet little story.

It's difficult to find online I've heard. I watched it at a film festival when it first came out. Search around on all the different sites. It's been a while since its release so it should be up somewhere. To tide you over until you find it, you can always watch A Bittersweet Life. Another great, mesmerising performance & good story. One thing you should know though, Byung-hun ahjussi has an affinity for tragedies so rarely, if ever, will you see him in anything with a happy ending. :/
