Ugh. Why is Toru is so hot & cold? Is he bipolar? I thought he and Natsoki were already official. Sigh ...
Only part that I really liked was the ending. He finally opens himself up to her fully. I didn't like his lame ass confession in Boston. He should have told her he loved her & can't go on without her. I thought the last scene at the office & the apartment afterward was so sweet, though. I want more of those scenes! That's why I'm hoping they'll make a S2!!!

What's the full name of the movie you posted about on the wall? I searched for Kurishima and it produced no results.

I do like it. The look & feel of it, the characters, the laughing goat ... I'd be too curious to see how it ended to drop it. The only thing I could do without is the female lead's violence. It's not acceptable for a man to hit & kick a woman so it always annoys me when women get a free pass for this in shows. It should go both ways. Otherwise I feel like the episodes go by incredibly fast and that's a good thing. Keeps me clicking to the next episode without realizing. Also it just got more interesting. When I first started the series I accidentally read a spoiler about Shi Won ending up with one of the 5 guys. I thought it was one brother, then the other brother dropped a bombshell that he's into her. Wasn't expecting that so now I'm not sure who she's with. I have a feeling, but not sure. I hope it's Yoon Jæ, he's worked so hard & put up with so much nonsense from her.

Yeah, when it comes to romantic movies, you and me both. I can watch a movie like Summertime or Intimate Lover once in a blue moon and not care, but in general I like sweet love stories like Always & happy endings. Sadly, they don't seem to produce a lot of love movies like that in Asia.
Reply 1997, nah, I'm gonna stick with it. You know me & my (sometimes) unreasonable compulsion to finish things. lol Besides, I like the male lead & the Busan accent. The intonations & inflections kinda sound like Japanese (which I now like as much as Korean).
Omg, thx for the head's up on Shut Up: Flower Boy Band. I shall promptly remove it from my PTW list! I'm usually suspicious of anything with 'flower boy' (what the heck does that term even mean anyway?!) in its title, but somehow it landed on my list. But not for much longer ...

Intimate Lover is about the demise of love whilst Summertime is about love, albeit tragic love. In my review I tried to discuss the themes the movie addresses: the security and comfort of the familiar vs the intrigue and excitement of the new or the unknown. The film presents an interesting treatise on love & how fickle it can be. I'd say it's worth a watch if you don't mind a less rosy view of relationships. In the end it's all about what you're in the mood for. I didn't particularly enjoy one more than other. I liked them both.
As for Reply 1997 it's okay so far. I think the male lead, Yoon Jæ, is really cute. Kinda getting tired of the jumping back and forth, and all the high school stuff. I want the show to stay in present time so I can know what the characters are up to now. Hence the 5 rating.

Balance.
I understand the need to feel this well. I believe I even said the same thing to you a few months back when I was going through a similar period of upheaval in my life.
Exercising always gives me a better outlook on things too. I recently returned to the gym after a very long period of mental and physical laziness. I'm starting to feel more energized and fit. When my body is in shape so is my mind & I'm able to find & maintain my equilibrium. So in that sense we're very much alike. I'm glad to hear that things are going back to normal for you & that you're re-discovering the things that bring you joy. It's important because life is short. Cling to them & do them often. I'm doing okay, otherwise. Still working hard to make my dreams come thru.

Haha ... you think so? He didn't really do anything major with the actress in my opinion. If I were his wife ... well, first of all I wouldn't be watching any romantic shows he's in! lol But if I were his wife and I saw this I wouldn't be jealous. It's all rather tame. They haven't even kissed (i refuse to call that one cold fish smack in the diner a kiss).
Anyway, I'm rewatching it with subs for the first time now. I haven't gotten to the part where he meets her in Boston yet so I don't know what was said, but that scene looked like a confession to me when I saw it the first time. You mean to tell me that I'm wrong? Sigh ...
It would be good if they make a second series. Funny how I wasn't THAT into the 1st one, but now I want a 2nd one because even with the special I feel like the story is incomplete.

Amazing! Had I known there was a live stream I would have tuned in as well. Have you rewatched it with subs yet? What do you think of it? Grrr ... sometimes Toru drives me crazy with his hot & cold behaviour! Why can't he just admit his feelings and sweep Natsui off her feet? Hahaa

Jeez, thx for the head's up. For a long time I had no plans to watch I Need Romance because all the comparisons to Sex & the City gave me a feeling that the guys were going to be schmucks, but a couple mdl'ers urged me to watch it and so I added it to my list yesterday. I think I'm going to pass though, now that you've confirmed my suspicions. I won't be seeing the other two you mentioned.
I really enjoyed AGD, but I couldn't stand Kim Na Heul in it. With a different female lead it would have been awesome for me.
Ela, what's up? Are you still in a slump?
Hope you get your mojo back soon, dear! :)

Really?! Please tell me which dramas are those because if I hate wimpy/whiny female leads then I abhor wimpy/whiny male leads. Toss apathetic into the mix... ::shudder::
The movies on my favourites list are awesome to me. Definitely check them out when you have the time & if you need more recs don't hesitate to ask. I'm no expert, but I've seen a couple movies.
Cheers for the request by the way. I look forward to chatting drama with you. :)

You asked me the other day what dramas with Ryu Soo Young I'd recommend & I forgot to answer. Sorry.
I've seen in him Save the Last Dance for Me. He played the villian. It was good role for him, but the drama is a melo with A LOT of makjang. I'm not sure it worth investing your time.
18 vs 29 - Wasn't bad, but he had a lot of excess weight in this drama & he looked like he hadn't slept well in months. The drama itself isn't that noteworthy either. I wouldn't recommend it but it's up to you.
Ojakgyo Brothers - I liked him in this role at first, but he plays alongside Choi Jung Yoon and that was unfortunate, because I grew to dislike his character & his storyline because of her. Otherwise the drama is perfectly watchable, but it's a long one, 50+ episodes.
Bad Couple - it wasn't a bad drama, but I didn't like it nor his role in it. It had a nice ending though.

RMPW is a really great show if you like business thrillers a la Wall Street or The Social Network. There's some romance in it but it's very slow brewing, as is typical with the Japanese I'd say.
But yeah I think you said it well. Oguri suits this role because in it he's charismatic & intriguing and you kinda fall in love with him as Natsuki falls for him. Also it's obvious that he loves her too, but he's fighting it for a number of reasons I won't reveal in case you do decide to watch the show.
While I don't think he's the most attractive guy ever, I do like the manliness of his features. I don't like the guys who rock the effeminate look. Shun looks like a real man. In the special whenever he looks at Natsuki so lovingly I'm gonna admit ... I melted. Badly. lol

Queen In-Hyun's Man is a drama everyone raved about, but I bordered on hating. If it wasn't for the main couple & their amazing the chemistry I doubt it would've gotten all the hype. It's as cliche ridden as every other k-drama. The story was unconvincing. We should have seen, rather than just being told, that the hero struggled to adapt to the modern world. With the exception of the romance in 2012 I was more intrigued by the political machinations happening in the Jesoeng dynasty. Autumn's Concerto is another eg. I gave it a 6 or 7 whilst most mdl'er raved about it.
I tend to love movies more than dramas. I'm a busy person offline so I prefer to watch something & be done with it in one sitting rather than be distracted from my work with thoughts of 'i wonder what will happen next?'. With that said, now that I've caught the drama bug I don't necessarily want to be cured.
