Oh really? How is it so far?
That's a drama I'm pretty sure I won't watch. I'm NOT a Ha Ji Won fan ... like at all. I just don't like her style as an actress. I've seen her in a lot of things and perhaps the only role I could tolerate her in was Closer to Heaven. I also don't like the hero because ... well, he's ugly to me. And yes, I know that's very shallow of me, but judge me as you will. lol Finally, I hear it's a super melo with a sad ending so not my cuppa.
Haha, random or unique ... why on earth? You gotta tell me.

Yeah, In the Mood For Love was a smash hit on the festival scene when it came out a couple years ago. It's a real depiction as filmmaking as an art form and I loved it because of that. I can't remember if it was a commercial success as well, but even if it wasn't it's one of those films every filmmaker hopes to make at least once in a lifetime.
I haven't watched Personal Taste. It got really mixed reviews on here but I remember Knight telling me that was simply due to the Curse of the Fangirls ... haha. Moreover, I don't think I want my first offering of the lovely mr. Lee to be in a feminine role.
I'll still pop in from time to time, just not every day so if you've got any more questions or interesting discussions you'd like to have I'm gamed! :-)
By the way keep me updated on what you think of Orange Days!

Hi, so sorry for late reply. Busy, busy time at work for me so haven't been able to log on. I'm still not sure what you mean by "my majors". Do you mean what I studied in school? If yes, then I studied marketing, international management and film (producing).

This is hard, but it's got to be the kitchen kiss scene between Halu-san and Aki in Pride. Brother looked like he literally wanted to devour her. lol
What's yours?
P.S. I'm not much on MDL these days as it's a busy time for me, work wise. But I'll back more regularly in mid march when my current project goes into post.

When you say what is my specialty what do you mean?
Re: tearjerkers, I'm sure many of them are great, like for eg 1 Litre of Tears. Everyone says that drama and the movie too were deeply touching but will make you cry ... well, 1 Litre of Tears. LOL I'd rather not cry 1 Litre of Tears. No. So I'll probably never watch that show. I just don't like to see people, esp good people, suffer. I'm not strong enough like that.

Well, being part Jamaican I kinda grew up with a lot of British influences so I understand their humour even though I don't always "get" it if you know what I mean.
Oh I hope you like Orange Days. It's an oldie, but definitely a goodie. Great show about friendship, growing up and the healing powers of love. Kai and Sae are one of my favourite TV couples. Keep me up to date as you watch. Hey we should try and watch something together sometime. You're such a great conversationalist I'm sure it'd be fun watching and chatting about the show with you as we watch! What do ya say? :-)

I know what you mean. I juggle between two cultures too since my parents are not from the same country. I try to take the good from both. When I first watched American The Office it was too American for me and I AM American. LOL ... I've seen the UK version too & Ricky Gervais is hilarious. Yeah, lots of British humour going about. haha
What's on the watch list for the weekend? I'm thinking my next drama is Taiwanese ... Love Keeps Going with Mike He. A lot of people are mad over him so I wanna see what all the fuss is about. Or I may head in a completely different direction and watch Salaryman.

Yeah, flexibility is good, but it's very difficult to live off filmmaking. Working in commercials/music videos brings in more work, but it makes me frustrated developing other people's ideas. I want to make films based on my own ideas. Anyway it is what it is. Say, are you a boy or a girl? I can watch a tearjerker maybe once a year. But that's enough for me. LOL My favourite genres are dramatic romance, thriller and action. I like a bit of horror too from time to time.

Not much of a GG fan, but I've seen a couple episodes and only because there's a particular couple in it that I absolutely adore. They have this amazing onscreen chemistry, it's practically bouncing off the screen. The few episodes I've seen was solely for them.
As for witty/intelligent Asian comedies ... I've never actually thought about it. I haven't seen that many dramas and I've seen even less comedy tv shows (personally I prefer dramas -- that is the genre, drama -- and if it's romantic drama, even better). My impression is that a lot of Asian comedies are more slapstick rather than witty/intelligent, eg A Gentleman's Dignity.
Also I think we accept American cinema as standard because they've done a helluva job with their global business model, but their humour is pretty ethnocentric too, just like the Brits. Ever watched an episode of US The Office? Sooo American.

Normally I'm a commercial & music video producer, but want to cross over into fiction films full time. The project I'm working on now is a short called The Broken.
I checked out some of your favourite movies and dramas and most of them are tearjerkers! How do you take it? I can't watch those, otherwise I'd be depressed for months.

Hey, I totally get your Lee Min Ho obsession so it has nothing to with maturity. The guy is HAWT. Full stop. But check out the star from Chunhyang. He probably will not end up as your next obsession, but he's soooo cute! :-)
I've been hearing about Dexter for years but never got around to watching it. One day I might give it a go. Do you watch Gossip Girl?

I'm a filmmaker and it's the busiest time of year for me. I'm applying to several different places for funding and have not had the time to watch any dramas of late. I'll watch a movie just to relax after a long day, but they're few and far between.

Hehe don't worry the drama slump will come. I was just like you when I first discovered dramas in October last year. I did some serious marathons. LOL Anyway, yeah, I thought Orange Days was amazing. The hero is usually not the type of guy I go for but Kai totally worked for me. He was so sweet and cute and manly all at once. If a man like that exists in real life I want him. hehe. Definitely watch OD before Legal High though. I haven't watched but I just know OD is gonna be better (lol can you hear my bias talking? :)
If you're looking for more eye candy. Check out Chunhyang. The hero is one of the most handsome Korean men I've ever seen. Plus the movie is a great love sorry too. I love love.
Hey, Prison Break is one my favourite TV shows of all time, especially the 1st season. I just love prison shows/movies in general. Lots of drama and sitting on the edge of your seat.

No reason in particular except that there seems to be an overabundance of Sagittarians on MDL (me included :), and many of them are born on nov. 30! LOL I was beginning to think that's the default bday the system chooses for people who don't fill out their profiles completely. Anyway, where are you from? And are you watching anything interesting? I'm on a drama/movie hiatus because of work, but I should be back to drama watching around the middle of February. :-)

Yeah, I can see that. You've had Hiroto up on your profile since forever. lol I like the show, but it didn't leave as big an impression on me. It was simply good while it lasted. I prefer Orange Days to Tatta actually. OD touched me in a way Tatta didn't. Nice to see that you have 3-iron up on your profile though. As you know I pray to that movie. LOL! :-) And thanks for the heads up I certainly won't be watching Koizora anytime soon.

Nope, been avoiding that one. Doesn't the guy die or something? Besides I'm a little too old now to be watching high school dramas. It's not that I dislike them, it's just that I've passed that phase in my life and can no longer relate. I want to see a love story where I believe the love will last hence my preference for more adult dramas. With Tatta Hitotsu No Koi I just felt the characters were too young to really understand what love is. It was fun while it lasted though, but they could have included a proper kiss...
