1) The most annoying character I've ever had the displeasure of watching has got to be Lee Soo Young from Loving You A Thousand Times. This woman had the victim, woe-is-me mentality down to a science. She had NO backbone, acts in every irrational, stupid, logic defying way know to man. I don't think I've ever despised a character so much. By the end of the show I really wanted to hit her with a shotgun blast. And sure this show had 55 episodes, but she started to try my nerves pretty early on, but I kept watching hoping things would get better. It didn't.
2) Choi Jung Yoon in Ojakgyo Brothers! Her screeching voice alone made me want to tear my hear out. In addition she's a spoiled, big baby who's still attached to her Mom's navel string. And what do you know the OP's #1 choice played her mother! Oh god ... double trouble.

Definitely watch In The Mood for Love ... AMAZING movie. It gives 3-iron a run for it's money, but in the end it's hard for me to pick which one I love more. It's like asking me to choose between my children (if I had children). I'd say Mood is definitely more visually stunning, even more arthouse than 3-iron, but 3-iron has a bigger emotional impact I think and at the end of the day, isn't that what's important. How things make us FEEL? I think so.

Yay! I glad you enjoyed it. Glad you loved it. Your approach to what you like is the same as mine so I know exactly that feeling you speak of. I felt the exact same way! I randomly chose to watch the film one night without knowing anything about it and I was simply stunned. LOVED IT TO PIECES. It is my favourite movie of all movies. And I aspire to make films like this! It's not popular because its the definition of arthouse. It won't appeal to many people who don't appreciate that filmmaking is very much an art as it is entertainment. This film turned me right on to director Kim Ki-duk who ironically enough is not very popular in South Korea! In fact his films are more popular internationally than domestically and apparently he struggles to cast big name actors in his films. Probably for the best. Now, have you seen In The Mood For Love? :-)

It was for me! It's very arthouse so it might not appeal to everyone, but I absolutely love that movie.
Erm ... thanks but no thanks.
Tearjerkers and me just don't mix! :)

Ok this was really hard. I took the whole day to think about it & I still haven't come up with anything definitive, but here's my answer for now:
1) My 1 night stand (sexy eye candy): Gong Yoo - this guy is really fine, and he has this really kind air about him that attracts me. He's a tad effeminate for my taste & I wouldn't be surprised if he one day comes out as gay or bi-sexual, but he has one of the sexiest walks I've ever seen. I just want to do him! :-O LOL!!! (would marry him too, but a man like him would never marry someone like me :).
2) Boyfriend - Kimura Takuya, I love him, but I don't think Kimmy & I would last longer than bf/gf.
3) Husband - Lee Byung- hun, this guy's so down to earth & so uncelebrity like (I've heard) that an average looking broad like me might have 1/100th of a chance. hehe.
I totally agree with Padam Padam. It was my first K-drama and it devastated me, but it was great. Great life lessons…
It was, wasn't it? I read the synopsis and liked it (the romance was heavily profiled) and since I'll pretty much watch anything with Jung Woo-sung's name on it I jumped in without knowing what really to expect & whoa ... did I get hit for six! I bawled, man, I bawled.
I've been hearing a lot about this Kim Sun Ah person so I just might give City Hall a go if it sounds right for me. I'll go check it out now.
As for LYATT did you watch it? Omg, I hated the heroine as much as I hated the cheater ... that show had so much potential, but was wasted...supporting cast was great tho.
I totally agree with Padam Padam. It was my first K-drama and it devastated me, but it was great. Great life lessons indeed. At the time I was not used to how Asian (Korean) dramas/cinema worked so I wasn't expecting certain things. That said, I have a lot of love for it. And Jung Woo-sung as Yang Kang Chil was AMAZING. He always brings such tremendous depth to his roles. Love that guy! :)
I got the gist of Ohlala Spouse from reading the synopsis and the commentary of many who have seen it and I decided to avoid it like the plague. I watched the cheating spouse theme in Loving You A Thousand Times and the way they handled it in that drama made steam come out of my ears. The cheater never said sorry or that it wouldn't happen again, but they just made the woman forgive him just like that as if such a thing is no big deal. Grrr. I'm not watching anymore shows like that.

Well, if he'll have you, more power to yah! :) Anime characters are probably more manageable and won't cheat anyway. lol
Still thinking about my choices.
Hey where did you watch Lust, Caution? Can you believe I have not seen that movie since it came out? My days...

I think you're mixing me up with someone else. I haven't seen Temptation of Wolves. I just added it to my PWL, but haven't seen it. It looks interesting though even if I'm sick and tired of love triangles lol. Buzzer Beat was pretty good. It turned me on to Yamapi too! :)

Hi June-isse, long time no "see". :-)
Love your profile pic. Yes, festive season was good! Had a bit too much rum ... but that's why it's holidays. LOL Thank you for the new year greetings. I wish you the same, may you be well in 2013. I haven't been watching any dramas lately because I'm a bit swamped with work. Movies are bit more doable since they're shorter. I just finished The Crucible which was good, but a very dark movie with graphic scenes of child abuse. Otherwise I've started several other movies that I haven't finished ... but will get back to eventually. What's been on your watchlist lately? Anything good? I noticed you had Buzzer Beat on hold. Didn't like?

What language is that I see on your wall, Claudy? Is it Romanian? It looks like a cross between Spanish and Italian which is what I was told Romanian looks like. Am I right?

How old is Lee Min Ho? I've already hit the 30 mark last Dec 16! I have to say I don't like it. I feel old, though I'm actually not (just my life circumstance make me feel old. I have a lot of responsibility). I wish I could have remained 28 forever. Anyway, Lee Min Ho is very cute. I need to watch a drama with him in it. I'm eyeing City Hunter, but I hear the romance is minimal in that one. And Personal Taste got really bad reviews ... though I now know it's because of the fangirl phenomenon & not necessarily because the drama is horrible. hehe. I might give it a go. I'm not going to watch Faith because I dislike older woman/younger man scenarios. I wish he'd make a movie or two!

Listen we like what we like and that's it! Hehe. No need to justify ourselves. It's harmless fun. I'm also supposedly too old to be a fangirl, but I have actors (& a few actresses) I love & squeal over from time to time, but I won't go ballistic if someone doesn't like an actor I like. That's where I draw the line. Too grown for that.
Re hot guys in the industry. Yeah you come across a few, but you have to remember this is the industry where people have THE biggest egos known to man. Anyone who's achieved the smallest bit of success thinks their sh*t don't stink. So yeah, many are cute, but full of crap ... lol. Nature of the business. When I just started out I was star struck but no more. I gotten used to it. That's why I like Lee Byung-hun because everyone says he's such a nice guy. Doesn't act like the big movie star he is at all. Hey, can ask how old you are? :)

We talked about this, remember? You actually have the better deal believe it or not! Hehe. Anyway, yeah, Byung-hun ahjussi really deserves all the recognition he's getting. He's very talented ... and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased. Haha. Check out a few of his flicks and see for yourself.
