Haha, why do you think I didn't realize? I realized and it's actually my only gripe with the site. I wished it attracted an older crowd (or more mature crowd, perhaps, since you're 18 but seem very advanced in your tastes) because it makes the conversations more nuanced and interesting.
But, yeah, it is what it is so I try to align myself with people of similar maturity. I've never thought anything was wrong with what I liked. Everyone luurved QHIM, and I actually hated it. I think it was a hot mess. And I'm not afraid to say that when the situation calls for it. You like what you like and that's it. End of story. LOL I notice that my movie article is not very popular because I'm tooting the horn of an ahjussi that the fangirls aren't interested in. Hehe ... it doesn't matter because I didn't write it with them in mind. I write & watch what's age appropriate & interesting for me.
Oh my ! I just noticed that the article is written by you ^^ Is it your first or did I miss out other articles…
Haha, no, it's the first! :-)

I've only seen him in Ojakgyo Brothers and he was aright. But yeah I agree with you I don't see what all the fuss's about. I don't particularly find him attractive and to me his acting skills are just okay, nothing noteworthy. He's still young, though, so maybe he'll grow into his own as he gets older and gain more experience. Anyway, I'm starting to realize mdl is overrun by teenage fangirls so you can't expect anything better. Haha

Lee Min Ho is on your hate list?! Dude, do you want to be lynched by the fangirls? Very prudent of you NOT to publish that. hehe

Haha ... are you referring to my hate list of actresses?
"I think that everyone has a moment when he/she just needs time to cry his/her heart out, right?" To…
I loved A Moment to Remember, it's one of my all time favourites and a movie I re-watch from time to time. Maybe because the romance leading up to the illness was so well played out. Jung Woo-sung and Son Ye Jin had some mad chemistry in that movie. I had no hope that she'll recover. Alzheimers is not a disease one recovers from, instead it gets progressively worse over time. But somehow the movie was more poignant than downright sad and depressing for me. It was sad but also sweet to see how devastated Chul-soo was over losing her, how he took care of her and so on. I don't know how to explain it, but it's the one "sad" movie that I watched that didn't completely devastate me afterwards.

Omg, Mrs. D, we're so alike in this regard! My very first K-drama almost ruined me for all others. After watching it that damn show haunted me for days! I was so depressed and sad afterwards that I didn't watch anything for several weeks and when I did start watching again I'd maniacally check the ending of any and all movies or dramas just to make sure they don't screw with my head like that again. Man, I just can't deal with stress like that. LOL I can tolerate sad movies only if I know what's coming beforehand. That way I can brace and mentally prepare myself. However, if I'm taken completely off guard like I was with my first drama, I'm totally screwed.

Beautiful. I still remember my dog as if he passed only yesterday. I really miss him so much. That dog brought a lot of happiness to my life. My condolences on the passing of your beloved one.

To answer you question ... hell no, life in general provides too many opportunities to cry so I'd prefer if my entertainment is uplifting, happy or optimistic, an escape that makes me laugh or smile or feel fuzzy inside.
That said I will check out some of your recs. The Dog movie is on my PWL. I love dogs! My dog has been dead for many years, but I still love him so I'm guessing this movie is just right for me. Maybe I'll cry, but it'll be happy tears, I imagine.
I'll also watch Pain & The Crucible because I like the sound of the plot. I don't know if I'll cry, and I HATE sad ending love stories, but I'm gonna woman up and give them a go!

Sick!
And you're right! I do live in Norway. I've been waiting for an opportunity to "meet" Lee. I don't think I'll be disappointed either. I'll be the first to admit that I'm shallow as heck ... hehe. I've seen screen shots of him in Faith and damn, the brother is FOINE!
Anyway, not to worry ... you can have him. I'll satisfy myself with Lee Byung-hun ahjussi! I'll take a real man over a boy any day! haha.
As for the people who stress us about the marriage & babies thing ... fuck 'em. ;-)
Well for someone who is now married to a Korean guy ( drama had nothing to do with it lol) that it's true that…
I live in Norway now and man when I see how children behave here compared to when I was growing up ... I gotta cringe. Here it's the children, sometimes as young as 4,5, that run things. When I was a kid just the side eye from my Jamaican mother would get me immediately in line. In fact it still does and I'm a grown a$$ woman ... haha

Love your input. When I first started getting into Asian, esp Korean, cinema I was pretty surprised at how similar some aspects of their culture was to my own. I'm Jamaican-American and though things and times are changing and American consumer culture has perhaps influenced the Caribbean for the worst ... filial piety and respect for people older than you is still very much a part of my cultural identity. So in that sense I was pleasantly surprised and the similarity has helped a lot in cultivating my growing love for Korea.

No dramas at the moment. Waaay too busy! I have several deadlines looming so I have to stay focused. I'm still watching movies though because the time commitment is not too much and they help me de-stress when I get in from work. Did you like Orange Days? And how did Kings2Heart surprise you? Does it have a sad ending? To be honest I don't think I'll ever watch that drama because not only do I not like Ha Ji Won ... I also think the male lead is fugly (apologies if you're a fan). So that's a double whammy. It's not looking good for that series. There has to be something that draws me. I've been thinking about seeing Secret Garden despite my hatred of Ha, just to see what all the fuss is about when it comes to Hyun Bin.
