I saw your post on the discussion thread and responded. I'm with you on everything you wrote. By the way, I wouldn't post any spoilers for episodes you haven't yet seen, at least not on your timeline. I'm looking forward to hear what you think of their relationship as it progresses. I sure as hell wasn't happy. Soo Young and her entire family are freakin' nuts! lol

I so agree with your ep37 review of Ojakgyo Brothers! I started out rooting for Soo Young to win over Tae Bom, but man when she turned into a whining psycho 12 yr old, I just hated her! She asked the guy the wrong question at the wrong moment and when she got her feelings hurt she starts going ballistic over foolishness! I became so frustrated at those two that they stopped being my favourite couple for the rest of the show. Other issues with them also compounded this decision. You'll see why later.

Awesome! I've heard of that one and have been planning to watch it because I hear cutie pie Daniel Henney is in it. Now that I know it has great kisses, I'm all in! But wait, does it have a happy ending too? By any chance have you seen Autumn's Concerto? I really wanna see that drama, but I'm apprehensive since the feedback I've received have been mixed, some say yes it's happy, others say not so much. Kinda hard to know what to believe ... anyway, if you've seen it let me know your take. Thanks for the recs! Noticed you have 3-iron on your plan to watch list. I really love that movie so I recommend you watch it soon! It's a very artsy movie, but if you like romance I think you might enjoy this. Cheers.

Aright, I'll find a way to check him out. I've been thinking of City Hunter, but I hear there's not much romance in that so I've been if-ing and but-ing. But we'll see. Maybe my mood will change and I'll get on the bandwagon.
Padam Padam was my first ever Asian drama and I watched it purely because of Jung Woo-sung who I discovered in the movie A Moment to Remember (have you seen it?). It is also the drama that gave me my current strong aversion to unhappy endings. That show messed me up for days I tell you. I loved his character and for them to do him like that, man, I bawled like a baby. After that I can't bear to watch anything that ends sadly even if the story is good (or if I do watch I have to know in advance so I can mentally prepare myself). I can't deal with the emotional overload, esp when I'm already stressed in my own life. I want happy. Happy, happy! :)

I've heard A LOT about this Lee Min Ho, but haven't had a chance to see him in anything yet. I hear he stars in Faith, but hmm, for various reasons I don't think I want to watch that drama. If you know of anything good he's in let me know. I wanna see what all the fuss is about. As for the other guy never heard of him. I'm pretty new to SK dramas so I have a lot of catching up to do. I also tend to watch more movies than dramas AND I have a preference for more mature actors. Guys like Lee Byung-hun, Jung Woo-Sung, Yoo Ji Tae. Besides a good ending, the other thing I want in my drama is real kisses, not this playground thing that's so common in Asian cinema. Drives me crazy when they build the chemistry between the characters for 10 EPs or more and then finally when they kiss it's like 2 grade school children experimenting. I dunno how old you are, but I'm grown so I want the real deal!:)

Ok, thanks. I'm going to watch this slowly because I'm big on endings. If it doesn't end well I don't want to watch it. I'm not sure who Seo In Gok, but I've been hearing a lot about him. I'm mainly watching for Ryu Soo Young, who I like A LOT! lol But I don't like how he looks in Rascal Sons. He looks fat, especially his face which is a lot rounder than I prefer to see him. hehe. Still love him tho, so I'mma check this out for sure. I hope they don't kill off anybody by the end. Have you seen Ojakgyo Brothers? It's also a show about brothers and my man Soo Young is in it too. It's pretty good, even though I didn't like everything about it. I'd recommended it. Have any good dramas with happy ending that you would recommend?

I watched that film not expecting to like it, but it completely blew me away. It wasn't only the artistry of the film that made an impression on me, but also its message. It touched me pretty deeply. I have a review up that explains what I mean, if you're inclined to read it. It doesn't surprise me that your friends didn't like it. It's a typical arthouse film that won't readily appeal to viewers who aren't conversant in filmmaking as an art. If you like these types of films I'd also like to recommend In the Mood For Love, a Hong Kong romantic drama. It's a classic arthouse film, even more so than 3-iron. It's a remarkably wonderful film with an amazing soundtrack. For something that might have a broader appeal also check out My Little Bride, SK romantic comedy. Here again I was shocked by how much I ended up liking a film I fully expected to hate. Great chatting movies with you! :)

Yep, got Coffee Prince on my watchlist. So many people here on MDL have recommended it to me so I'm looking forward to meeting him. On further thought I think I've heard of Hyun Bin, but I don't think I've seen anything with him in it yet.
Being a complete movie fanatic I loove that I've discovered a whole new world of cinema to enjoy. And a whole new set of guys to crush on! lol Man, if you asked me a month ago if I'd be crushing on so many Asian guys, I'd be like "eh"? They just weren't on my radar before, but now ... can't get enough of these oppas! lol
Re comedy or melodrama, actually neither. I just like average romantic drama. I like comedy when I have a mood for it. Melodramas tend to go a bit overboard with everything (eg Save the Last Dance for Me) so I like when there's a balance(eg Ojakgyo Brothers to me was a good balanced drama with not too many outrageous plot devices).

Actually Viki doesn't work for me either. Says it can't show in my region due to license restriction. It worked out though on Gooddrama ... I'm now on EP12 and the subs are okay again. Dunno how it'll be in later episodes. How did you like this up to the point where you watched? I thought it was a bit slow in the begin and pushed myself to keep watching in anticipation that it'll get better. Glad I did cuz I'm really enjoying it now.

By the way, where did you watch AGD? I'm watching it on Gooddrama, and I'm on EP 7, but the episode is not completely subbed! So frustrating! Where did you watch it?

If you've put it on hold then it can't be that interesting for you! lol You'll see what I mean by dodgy ending when you get to the end.

Hey my friend! I've been good thanks. How about yourself? You been good? Haven't been watching a lot of movies lately. Just came off a drama marathon, 58 episodes of Ojakgyo Brothers. And now I'm watching A Gentleman's Dignity.
I can't wait to hear what you think of Season of Good Rain. I really loved that movie (despite the somewhat dodgy ending). Enjoy! :)

Mmm, don't know any of those older oppas you mentioned, but I'll certainly check them out. I love discovering now actors and watching all they've been in.
I'm watching A Gentleman's Dignity now and that lead guy (the one who narrates) is sooo cute. It's a bit slow for me right now, but I do like it. I want Mr. Cutie and Si Yoo to just get together already!
I'm relatively new to K- everything! :) Been watching a few odd films from SK for years, but I didn't become obsessed until about a month ago. So compared to a lot of people here on MDL I have a lot of catching up to do.
When it comes to Asian cinema -- doesn't matter if it's a movie or tv series -- I like romantic drama. I like other genres too of course, but so far I've been gravitating toward romantic drama the most. It has a lot to do with my mood I guess. These days I just want romance ... I think I need to get married! haha
Jeaniessi, in your collage of Shameful Parents the lady in the top four pictures (she's next to the guy who I recognize from Padam Padam) ... what drama is that picture from? I'm not surprised that this woman has the crazy parent down to an art. She was absolutely bonkers in Ojakgyo Brothers, even if she was a bit funny at the same time! haha

Your list also reminds me about the jealous ex/boyfriends. You know, the ones who have no interest in heroine until another man starts showing interest in her. Crazy bastards. Guys like these drive me nuts! lol

Ok just checked your list and I noticed you have 3-iron as plan to watch. Watch it immediately! I don't know what's your tastes in movies, but this is by far one of the best South Korean movies I've ever seen. It's a very artsy type of film, but with a very touching, heartwarming story and the music is A-mazing! Also check Addicted starring my Asian dream man, Lee Byung-Hun. I loved this movie mainly because of LBH, but it also has a good interesting story.
There are many others I could recommend but let's leave it at that for now. These are two different types of movies even though they're both romantic dramas. One's very artsy and will appeal to film buffs whilst the other is more commercial. Be sure to let me know what you think once you've watched them.
And I love bromances too! Ironically, a lot more than chicmances so we have that in common! Recommend me some if you can! :)

Oh I'm the same way! I tend to watch a lot more movies than dramas so that's why my dropped list isn't overpopulated yet ... hehe. I've only watched 4 dramas so far. Two of them were very droppable, but since I'm newly addicted I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I kept watching.
I'm glad to hear that AGD has a good ending! I will start it after I complete the work that got totally neglected while I watched 58 episodes of Ojakgyo Brothers (if you like bromances you'll probably love this - the 4 men are actual brothers, not just friends and they all have unique, distinguable personalities. It's a great show with happy ending).

Hehe, just saw your dropped list and your comment on the Why you dropped thread ... picky one, aren't you? :) Then I'm very happy to see you gave A Gentleman's Dignity a perfect 10 because I'm thinking that will be my next drama. Can you PM me and let me know if it has a happy ending? For the moment I'm avoiding sad ending dramas where someone dies or will die or where romantic leads do not end up together.
