I read it this morning but I honestly don't believe it and I won't believe anything unless it comes from both…
I believe it! People file for divorce behind their spouse's back ALL THE TIME. Granted it's usually the woman who does so most, but I'm not surprised that SJK as a man chose this route. Either he and SHK are not on speaking terms or he may have just wanted to avoid a confrontation. Sometimes there is such a break down in communication that the person who files behind their spouse's back may want to avoid any confrontation and just get the entire thing done and over with.

Never saw their chemistry or " connection" outside DOTS...when I heard of their wedding I was like " why they…
I agree with @Jinee, I never saw any chemistry or connection *in* DOTS. I will forever maintain that their pairing was a total miscast. Individually, both of them could have worked in the role ... if they were cast with more compatible actors. But together, they were a total mismatch. I could barely watch them interact, it looked too weird & fake to me. Joong Ki's super baby face has a lot to do with it. He literally looks like a teenager, and next to her ... something was just off. I couldn't even take him seriously as this badass soldier either. He just looked like a little kid playing cowboys & Indians. It was so laughable to me. I couldn't keep watching. I had to quit the drama after about 30 mins & I've never had the motivation to pick it back up. I don't think I ever will.

While I don’t agree about the whole star sign thing, I agree about everything else lol. I was having a hard…
A lot of people dismiss the power of the zodiac when it comes to accurately describing the personality traits of each sign .... but that's to their own detriment. I'm not here to try and convince anyone, but I've seen and experienced enough to know that when it comes to the basic personality makeup of each sign, it's often spot on. There's always an exception to every rule, but in general I've never found it to be wrong.

I interact with Virgos a lot in my work; I also have a few Virgo family members. Because I work heavily on my communication skills & being more emotionally intelligent, I'm able to tolerate being around them, but I can tell you that there has been no shortage of situations in which we could have severely butted heads.

Trust me, Virgos are *very* anal and controlling. It doesn't have to be a cruel, abusive type of control, they just like to set the tone of how things around them should be organized - whether it's a task at work or in their personal relationships. And I'm sure they always mean well, but for some people (like me, a Sag) their behaviour is often irritating as fuck! They have many admirable traits - they're very analytical, methodical and pragmatic .... but these good traits can very easily morph into being uncompromising, critical and contemptuous when people disagree with their methods.

Sagittarius is a dynamic, fiery, enterprising, philosophical, broad thinking sign. We're intuitive, deep thinkers & while we don't stay angry for long, we do have quick tempers. What we tend to hate the most about Virgos is Virgo's tendency to be very critical & always looking to find fault with *everything* ... esp the way other people do things. This is usually where the conflict lies for a Virgo/Sag couple. The couple may have developed contempt for each other because they both might've been too critical of how the other views & does things . Seriously, if I was a pushover sort of personality, the Virgos I work with would walk all over me.

If both SJK & SHK are emotionally immature & didn't work on better communicating with each other - which I suspect they are & didn't - then there was no way for their relationship to work. Even the most emotionally intelligent Virgos & Sags have to work extra hard to get along because they're simply not diametrically aligned in any way.

Moreover, you might not 'feel' SJK isn't controlling, but I'd bet money that he is! I seriously don't need to know him personally, I just know the basic personality traits of each sign are rarely ever wrong (regardless of culture, nationality, race etc - eg, a Virgo or Sag in South Korea & a Virgo or Sag in Antartica are very likely to share many similar personality traits). Like I said before, their controlling nature doesn't have be to be a cruel, abusive type of control .... I too don't get the impression SJK is like that, but its the way in which he likely views & does things would be in direct conflict with SHK. I have a strong suspicion that not learning to effectively communicate with each other - in a way that doesn't press each other's buttons - resulted in a lot of contemptuous feelings toward each other & caused a severe break down of relations in the marriage.

I also agree with your impression of SHK, I've always felt like she comes across as a little .... bitchy, for a lack of better term. One of the reasons why I've never enjoyed her as an actress. Her eyes reveal a lot about her possible personality -- since she's this superstar (probably bigger than Joong Ki) who is used to people worshipping her, she probably has an inflated ego. In addition to the fact that she's older than him too, she probably expected him to capitulate to her wishes all or most of the time. That type of behaviour would not sit very well with the more controlling, pragmatic, down to earth, stubborn & critical nature of Virgo so I bet SJK reacted negatively to many things about her (as she did about him).

I'm just glad they're over! I really think they would have brought out the worse in each other even more, if they had continued to stay together. They nipped this thing in the bud before things got worse & that's the wisest decision they could have made.

OMG, I am in complete shock! I was just rewatching her in Ojakgyo Brothers! In the drama she plays such a spunky, intrepid character! I could've never imagined this would be how she met her end. Very sad, indeed. :-(

Bahahahaha!!! WARNING - long post ahead!
I'm not laughing at anyone's misfortunate, but who didn't see this coming from a mile away? Oh right, you delusional fangirls who can't separate fantasy from reality. I mean no disrespect to anyone - seriously - but I gotta call a spade a spade.
I personally *knew* they were doomed from the day DOTS was announced and they were confirmed as the leads. I *never* thought they were a good match, neither on the screen nor off of it. In fact, I was so against this pairing that I hoped one or both of them said no to the drama. Sadly, they didn't, and DOTS turned into a carnival of overrated madness.

I *tried* to overcome my unease about this couple & watch the drama, but I just couldn't get pass it. They were not believable as a couple to me. I saw ZERO chemistry - she looked more like his older sister than his lover. I had to stop watching DOTS after about half an hour because I cringed every time they interacted. And this is very unusual for me because DOTS is the type of drama that's right up my street. But there was just something off about these two. When I heard they were getting married ... I literally said to myself "This is a mistake. These two are not going to last very long!"

First of all ... physical compatibility is actually the first stage of courtship. A couple must *look* compatible for their union to be believable. Have you ever seen two people together and you totally get why they're together? Because they *look* like they should be together. Their physical features compliment one another. I NEVER got that feeling with these two. Not just because she's older, but because their looks just aren't compatible in general.

SJK has a very open, innocent looking face whilst hers is very guarded. He would look more compatible with a woman who has an equally open, innocent looking face, even if she happens to be older. While SHK would look better with a man who has tougher, more guarded features just like she does, even if he happens to be younger than her.

But speaking of age, yes, SHK is older than SJK, but she isn't THAT much older, only 4 - 5 years. Next to him, however - because he has such a super baby face and looks like a teenager - she looks ancient, like she's his aunt or older sister or something. This is never a good look on a woman, and to me it *always* felt weird that she was in fact his wife/lover. That alone turned me right off (and is generally one of the reasons I don't like noona romances at all).

Then there's the issue that she's Sagittarius (I am too!) and he's Virgo. OMG, one of THE worse pairings ever! I know a lot of people will dismiss this and say zodiac signs mean nothing. But those in the know will know. Sagittarius & Virgo are NEVER a good match.
The two signs are just too different. Virgo & Sagittarius approach, see and process EVERYTHING completely differently. They almost never see eye to eye on important matters, and as a result, it's very difficult for these two to find common ground on which to build a lasting relationship.

I have NEVER come across a Sag/Virgo pairing that lasts more than a few months, if that much. That doesn't mean successful pairings of these two aren't out there, I'm just saying I ain't never met them. All the Sag/Virgo couples I know fought like cats and dogs and ended up hating each because both signs are sooooo different from each other. They're bound to drive each other crazy.

I believe SHK was desperate to get married & maybe she thought SJK looks so cute and cuddly that SHE could control him ... but little did she know (Virgos are some of the biggest control freaks in the zodiac). I'm not sad they've broken up. They weren't a good match from the start & I'm glad they realized it for themselves sooner rather than later (before children came into the picture). Now they'll be both free to go and find partners they'd be more compatible with, both in physical appearance & personality!

Two of my favourite actors are headlining this! Choi Jin Hyuk, with his fine self, and Son Hyuk Joo ahjussi. Story sounds like it could be pretty good too, but in the hands of a relatively inexperienced writer, who has until now specialized in the teen/young adult genres ... hmm, dunno. I would have felt much better if this was being scribed by Park Kyung Soo (Golden Empire, Punch, The Chaser).

YO! This drama is straight insanity!! The low rating it has boggles my mind. This has to be one of the best written…
I rooted for the ML to the very end. Everybody wants power, but not everyone really understands what having true power means. All the leaders we look up to and revere, they do some f**k sh*t behind closed doors too, we just don't know it. That's what having power means. Having power is always corrupting, no matter how good of a person you think you are. Somebody has to be the con and somebody else has to be the conned. However, the best use of power is to try & cause a minimum of damage as you can. But to live in a dream world and to think you won't ever have to make decisions that will negatively affect someone else is a naive understanding of life on the top. I think the ML made some mistakes, but he wasn't irredeemable. I didn't like what he did in the end. He was better than that.

Ever since Heirs I've wanted to see Choi Jin Hyuk in a romantic role & finally it happened! He was soooo gorgeous here! But the mystery / amnesia plot that dominated this drama was very poorly done. Lots of telling, instead of showing, in this drama. Grrr ... hate that! ML was supposed to be very sick, but there was never a day he wasn't dressed to the 9s, looking every bit the bill of health! I mean, really? :/ Totally unbelievable.

The romance was better, with a good amount of OK kisses, but they lacked that little spark, that extra sizzling chemistry that epitomizes an epic love. The first ep was the best in showcasing the electricity that pulled them together. After that, despite all the sentimental scenes and kisses, their courtship felt a bit bland. It was just your typical 'innocent', 'pure' romance. Meh! Loved the frequency of physical interaction, though ... and they were kinda, sorta natural looking. And lord, I wanted to switch out the FL with myself .... so I can kiss Choi Jin Hyuk, with his fine self!, all I want!!! hahaaa

I knew you'd be completely off! But fine, we all judge things differently.

However, I've seen all these movies and none of them are 'human interest' stories like Train to Busan.

The Wailing and The Host are pure genre films without much focus on the human interest aspect. They are genre films, meaning they are mostly plot driven and heavily depend on the tropes of the genre to move the narrative along . Same goes for I Saw The Devil .

Read up on human interest narratives and perhaps .... maybe you'll be enlightened by why - even though all these movies appear similar - they are completely different from TtB in terms of narrative resonance.

Moreover, your sample size is hella small, dude. When you watch as much films as I do per year, come talk to me. And I'm not just talking about mainstream movies on TV and in the cinemas.

And what kind of movies am I watching, pray tell? Since you know so much about my tastes in films. Moreover, you've watched 4 Korean films of a similar genre recently, I've watched hundreds and hundreds over several years. Your anecdotal 'evidence' of this phenomenon means nothing. Name those so called films you claim to have watched recently and I'll judge for myself. Bet you can't ...

Delusional feminists with some sort of penis envy tend to believe there's only one way a woman can be so-called 'strong'. If a character is sweet-natured, they throw a hissy fit. Granted, woe-is-me type characters (like the FL in Oh My Ghostess) who allow themselves to be bullied are dull as fuck. They're not interesting to watch, but characters who are purely innocent and sheltered (like the FL in Boss & Me for eg) don't automatically mean they're 'weak', but everyone's always complaining about this. It's nonsense! I guess every woman needs to act like a damn butch lesbian to be considered 'strong'. That, and among other things, is why I don't label myself a feminist and I don't care who don't like it. This kind of thinking is so one dimensional, it makes me want to fucking puke.

First of all, who's really being defensive here? Did I say anything about not wanting to watch the show? Did I say YOU should stop watching the show? SMDH. You made a less than intelligent comment and gave an even less intelligent response to my comment. Instead of taking what I wrote as 'arguing' with you, you could have used the opportunity to be a bit more discerning and come with a more thoughtful response. But I guess that's beyond your capacity. Moreover, if you don't want people responding to your ish, then don't post your 'opinions' in public. Period. How about that?
