Hmm ... he sounds like the heroine here in MDSY. I understand Seo Young & her issues, but her inability to acknowledge her mistakes to the people she's wronged is starting to grate on my nerves. The more she lets pride rule her actions, the more people she hurt.

Anyway, I had a look at SWAK again and it's perhaps the love triangle that I wanted to avoid. Apparently it's very intense all throughout the drama and I just hate love triangles. Their use is often abused in Asian dramas.

Anyway, you've certainly piqued my curiosity so I might reconsider. I'd love to see a drama Rosie thinks is awesome! :)

Why didn't you like LJK?

Haha I gladly accept the label. I am a fusspot ... which simply means I know what I like! haha Anyway, thx for the rec of Sealed with a Kiss. I've had it rec'ed to me before but something made me pass. What was it? I don't think it was because of a misogynistic male lead ... (which btw doesn't worry me all that much otherwise I wouldn't watch Asians dramas at all. As long as there's no physical abuse or verbal abuse which is exceptionally cruel). Is the male lead worse than Le Jun Kai? You saw that mini drama didn't you?

My dear, Rosie, it would seem like you understand my tastes very well. I'm about 75% into MYDSY -- while there are some developments and story arcs I like, this is not the show for me.

The characters are all fine, I have no significant negative reaction to anyone. For the first time I see LBY in a role that I think suits her personality, as I perceive it, so she's tolerable to me here because she doesn't have to ACT so much. But the plot just seems so contrived ... and recycled. That's the worse part. I feel like I've seen it all before - the pompous jerk of a husband with the love child, the betrayed housewife, the cute/innocent romance blah blah.

Moreover, this is pure family soap opera - a genre that, on its own, is of very little interest to me when there's no romance. At least not when they're hopelessly deadlocked by all the same tired tropes.

So yeah. I took 4 steps forward with Nine & 10 steps backwards with MY DSY.

Re: OD, I'm so pleased you finally got around to enjoying that little gem of a drama! OD holds a very special place in my heart.

Re: my latest film projects ... thx for asking. Business could be better, but we're keeping busy. We just won a big account the other day & on the fiction film production side we have 1 film in production, one's with the funders & another is in development. So busy times. What about your life? What you been up? Do you work? I see you're planning a meet - up in London. I might come! :) I truly miss living in London...

I'm liking him in MYDSY. He has a nice presence, though his acting isn't always the best. And the man sure does fill out a suit, in the best of ways. Somebody should change his pic here though. The current one isn't doing him justice!

his acting is horrible...so plain!
I like him, but I have to agree his acting needs some work. The way he recites his lines sometimes can be exceedingly bad. Speaking with reference to his role in MYDSY.

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply! I'm soooo glad you found the review helpful and that you're enjoying the show. As you read I absolutely adore this story because it was so unlike the usual childish fare dramaland has to offer! How far along are you? Let me know how it ends for you! :)

I've seen Love Fiction ... er, didn't like it all that much! :/

You should watch oppa in Nameless Gangster. That's where I first 'met' him & fell in luuurve! :) hehe

Two in the Shadow isn't tragic per se. It's poignant, a little heartrending. What I loved about it is the great acting and direction that made me feel every emotion. I'm truly beginning to fall in love with classic Japanese cinema, perhaps more so than their contemporary offerings.

I've been to South America yes. Asia is very high on my list! :)

Ms Rosie, left the following for you on the feeds but don't know if you saw it so I'm posting here:

Curious ... why wouldn't this be my cup of tea? Given what you know of my taste is there something here than could turn me off? I've only seen 5 eps so it's hard to make a judgment call at this point.

This by the way is in reference to My Daughter Seo-young.
Hope you've been well.
You've become decidedly less talkative than I remember you to be. What gives? :)

I did a lot of travelling when I was a student. Backpacking, long weekends and so on. I come from North America so travelling the entire continent was easy and my mom is from the Caribbean so travelling there was also a must. Then I moved to Europe ... so it kinda adds up.
These days I don't have much time or money to travel ... which is what happens when you work for yourself and not someone else.

I liked the doctor friend in Nine too, but I didn't want to jump his bones like Sun Woo's ... if you get my drift! *wink*wink* haha

It's possible that I have all those movies on my list, but I can't recognize any of the names except My Rainy Days. I know I started that one then put it on hold. I'll get back to it at some point.

The one I wanted to rec you is called Two in the Shadow. I really loved that movie. Romance the way I like it, even though it's a bit tragic (wouldn't be Japanese if it wasn't, right? :)

Yes, ma'am, I have. 35 countries, 3 continents, but NOT Asia or Africa. YET! :)

I've actually had many chances to work in China, but always declined. That was prior to my drama addiction. If I get the chance now, hells yes I'd go!

I haven't been home to see my family in over 3 yrs so I want to make a trip home this year. After that I'm free to go anywhere else I want to go. I'm planning my next big international trip to Korea. On the same trip I want to pop over to Vietnam as one of my friends is based there and he's begging me to come visit everyday. He thinks I'd love it! :)

Hehe we did both NINE! Yay! :) How could anybody dislike Sun Woo? That man is just super smart and all kind of gorgeous! haha Can you believe though that I STILL have NOT watched the finale? Can you please tell me WHAT I'm waiting for?? haha

I was actually wanting to rec you a JP romance movie, not a drama. It's kind of artsy though so I'm not sure you'll dig that. :)

Not surprised! haha
Romance outside dramaland is usually weird or tragic.
Do you like Japanese romance? Esp classic ones?
It was I who rec'ed Never Forever to you, wasn't it? I think that's the first thing I rec'ed you that you liked! ;) Otherwise our tastes are on a collision course haha.
What dramas have you been shipping lately, if any? Have you jumped on the 'Man from the Stars' bandwagon?

Haha how you can tolerate the oh ah here, but not in Sparty? Crazy girl! haha Is it because you have a crush on Ha Jung Woo? ;)

Anyway, glad you liked the movie.
Scene where they go out of the resto, shouting and swearing??? What scene is that? I can't remember! I'mma have to rewatch cuz it does sound epic!

Hey, long time no chat. I noticed on the feeds that you just finished Nine & gave it an 8. Why not a 9 or 10? I'm just curious because I still need to watch the final episode and I'm not sure yet how I'm going to rate. It all depends on the ending! :)
Otherwise, what have you been up to lately?
