@bimba She's right up there wit ms. Ha Ji Won as far as I'm concerned. In fact I probably hate her more than Ha. I've seen her in a few movies + this drama and I've never liked her in ANYTHING. At least I didn't mind Ha in Closer to Heaven.
I really enjoyed this drama though I dislike the female lead (and the actress) with a passion.
I read somewhere that Cha Seung Woo was in talks to star in this drama. Man, he should have taken the role. Even though I enjoyed Jang Dong Gun as the male lead I think Cha Seung Woo would have fitted better ... just because he's so darn manly AND he has good comedic timing.
Ah well, it was still a good show. Some viewers felt it was a bit sexist. And it probably was, but what do you expect from a drama that is completely from the male POV? What I loved about the show was exactly the fact that it wasn't sickeningly PC ... even when I personally wanted to beat them over the head for objectifying women.
Good job with the article, Clemi! :)

Noooo, no tearjerkers. I'd prefer romantic drama like Lovers or romantic comedy like City Hall. Something stress free!

It's weird. I'm not in a slump because I have the desire to watch something, but it feels like I kind of am in a slump because I can't make a choice! And it's been this way for 3 mths! Grrr. What should I watch? Any suggestions?

Bahaha! Give her a break, will ya? She's just a lowly office lady. But, don't worry, she cleans up nicely in later episodes (the ending is so beautiful & so much fun!). Mi Ræ & Mi Joo did have horrible hair styles, but not Kim Ha Neul's character in AGD. I don't think it's a KES thing. Just coincidence ... or perhaps in this case bad luck! :)

I've seen 13 Assassins & Audition from Miike. I liked both. I liked Visitor Q too actually, even though it's some of the weirdest sh*t I've ever seen. I think that's why I like it because it's so damn bizarre and out there. Have his version of Harakiri lined up to watch as well. Curious to see how he'll handle the original 1962 story. Knowing Miike it's gonna get bloody. I also want to see Ichi the Killer & the Dead or Alive trilogy.
Well I was born in the '80s so I guess I'm a '80s kid, though I remember very little of my childhood.
And wait, what? Gong Yoo has a new movie??? I haven't seen it! But you betcha I will. I love that guy! Have you seen it? Good?
I got the snippet but haven't read it yet. I will soon, don't worry. :)

So ms D4L, first order of business: thx for the request! :)
Second, if that magician suit was meant to be a comedy act that was a pretty bad joke! Moreover, it's not just the magician suit that turns me off his particular brand of fashion. It's how he dresses generally. He wears clothes that look two sizes smaller than him. And too many skinny jeans! I really hate men in skinny jeans! He's way too feminine ... from the way he does his hair down to the shoes he wears. And he also wears VISIBLE make-up!!! I've seen the eyeliner in many of his pics! It's not that I'm 100% against a man wearing make up but it shouldn't be obvious!!! You're a man after all, not a woman!
Anyway, that's just my 2c. That he's witty and okay (not handsome to me) in the looks department is all true, I'll give him that. But I can't take him seriously when he leaves his house in some of the outfits I've seen him in. Soon he'll be full out cross dressing! lol
Don't get me wrong, even though I'm appalled by his fashion, I don't dislike him for it so this is not a diss. Just an observation! :p
Why do you think we have different taste in men? I'm curious what made you think that? I tend to like men around my age or a few years older. I do not fancy idols/flower boys at all! I like grown men. So I'm one noona who does NOT go for younger fish. In fact I really don't know why an older mature woman would want to date what is likely to be an immature kid, but to each their own! :)
What themes on my profile did you agree & disagree with? Curious! :)

That's one of the reasons I enjoyed Coffee Prince as well. The romance was just the way I like it. Very affectionate with lots of skinship! That's how it oughta be, if you ask me! :)
Haha ... Visitor Q, total mindf***. Miike can be one sick bastard. lol
As for Scarface, I like gangster flicks & Scarface was alright in that it lived up to the crime drama, but it didn't blow me away like say ... the Godfather trilogy. Mostly I loved having a glimpse at what the '80s were like more than anything else. Seemed like a fun time to be alive (although it was also decade AIDS was born & started dropping people like flies). When this film came out I was just about to turn 1 yr old! :)
Anyway Scarface was set to be a despicable anti-hero from the first frame so I wasn't too disappointed by his demise. I knew he was never gonna change for the better. He killed people too easily, without any remorse. I also thought Pacino was okay, but it wasn't one of his best performance imo. I dunno I just felt a little underwhelmed by his portrayal here. I can't quite put my finger on it. I gave the film 3 stars out of 5.

Oh sorry! I did check your profile, but I didn't realize it said 'Completed' next to CP & PT. I really enjoyed the romance in Coffee Prince even though the plot was totally pointless in parts (the love story between her mother & that ahjussi). Ohhh, I want to hear that story so PM me quick!
You went to Japan in January??? Sooooo envious! Glad you had a nice time! Was it cold or is it like summer or something there? (forgive me if this is a totally ignorant question!) So did you get back together with her? I seem to remember you telling me one time that things weren't sure? Anyway, if you're happy I'm happy! :)
Man I can't wait until I travel to South Korea. Unfortunately I don't know when that's going to happen due to a variety things. I know for a fact that I can't go there before I visit my family Stateside ... who I have not seen in YEARS! And I can't afford 2 big trips in one year so yeah ... it's looking like 2015 or even 2016! :(
Movies: Last Life in the Universe & Invisible Waves, both by Thai director Pen-ek Ratanaruang. I quite liked them, esp the former. Then I saw Takashi Miike's Visitor Q. Sickest thing I've seen it in a while. Leave it to Miike to come up with some of the most effed up, bizarre sh*t ever! I also saw Harakiri (1962), great! Romancing in Thin Air by Johnnie To, meh. Yesterday I saw Scarface for the first time as an adult. I remember I watched it as a child with my brother, but I had completely forgotten the plot. Al Pacino was the boss as usual.

Hi Mamira, sorry for the late reply.
I've been good. Have been on a little drama hiatus (haven't watched anything since Nine in December), but have been catching up on some movies. Glad you enjoyed My PS Partner & Petty Romance! What about the others ... did you get around to watching them? I think I also rec'ed Always, Love 911 and a few others I can't remember. These days I've been watching a lot of Japanese & American classics. I have some Scandinavian flicks lined up too, but they're low priority for me since I don't really like Scandinavian films. I find them too pretentious more times than not.
What are you watching now?

I read your review for I Came in Search of a Flower & I see you liked it very much. I, on the other hand, am a bit wary of that drama. Somebody has a terminal illness which doesn't bode well for the ending. I hate that. So hmm ... dunno, Bourne.
Well, I only saw Park Shin Hye in 20 mins of Heirs and that was enough to make me certain that I HATE HER. Well, not her her ... but her acting. I will never watch You're Beautiful. I've been hearing about it since I discovered dramaland and I knew it was not for me. First of all it's written by the Hong Sisters whose work I hate. Second, it's geared toward a younger audience which means there's a lot of silliness, cheesiness and open eyed kisses. Way too grown for that. So no.
Where are you that you're miles away from home & can't download anything?
Check out Last Life in the Universe. It's by that Thai director I told you about. If you like that, then his other films are worth checking out. Before my favourite Thai director was Apitchatpong Weesethakul (who I've actually worked with), but now I think Pen-ek has overtaken him.

But I still have to watch it! hehe
I can't pass on an opportunity to see him AND Eric! Is there any romance?
Now that From the Stars is over, how did you like it? It seems to have divided the viewership into love it or hate it camps. Which are you? If I have to guess I'd say LOVE IT! Am I right?
I don't know about Lee Seung Gi. I haven't seen him in anything. I've heard he's a great actor, but I don't know if I agree. I know I don't find him attractive, but I won't write him off on that alone. I'll see him in something first. You're All Surrounded seems like the best choice. I'm looking forward to that because Cha Seung Woo also stars in it. I LOVE THAT MAN! :)
