This isn't as good as I'd hoped. First of all either the choreographer or cameramen don't know their business or both are just equally bad. Secondly the plot feels a bit too shallow but it's too early to tell. Thirdly I'm not enjoying this character setup for William Chan, he hasn't even started bleeding for Haishi but is already getting hurt so much for douchebag emperor, I don't enjoy noble idiocy. The plot feels sparse but it's too early to judge. But at the end of the day I don't want to drop it, I know I'm going to finish it. It's still very watchable, the production value is the best this year after the rebel princess and there's the high possibility that it's going to get better.

Lol, because of their huge fandoms and level of acting skills, I generally oppose BL actors for this role. The fanwars will destroy chemistry and ruin the drama. But this drama needs heat so it might still happen.

I 3rd Deng Lun. I repeat pls not Xiao Zhan or Wang Yi Bo, I want peace, Yang Mi has always been smart not to cooperate with over popular idols. Gong Jun seems fine though.
I've always thought that WC and YM make a visual pairing ever since this production started. My only concern is with the plot. This drama better be good, I've been waiting a long time.
Boy... I'd hoped YM would take this one instead of Jiao Zang but since she's taken that one, it's just impossible now for this one 😓 She'll probably give it to one of the actresses under her.
From the new trailer I feel this drama didn't take advantage of Novoland's complex world building and there are no fantasy elements, it's a bit disappointing. I just hope the entire drama didn't focus solely on love triangles and other romantic themes ( in a way that every event is as a result of and results in the dynamics of the romantic plotline). It would be such a waste. The only thing that would save it in that case would be eliminating brainless and childish plot points and giving us some serious romance to ponder on, preferably with a sad ending.
