LMAO, as long as you can prove YM doing any of that to younger actress I'll join your ship. Too bad all the evidence…
ZLY's team and her fans have been going really crazy since Novemberish last year. They caught YM unawares and completely annihilated her because ZLY was aiming for the magnolia awards this year. It seems the magnolia awards led ZLY on and only used her for publicity because it looked like she really believed she had a chance to win. Even after losing she tried to bring up the issue of "controversy" and "bias" but it was so obvious she was behind it since she spent so much money on publicity from January/February to May 😂 She had to stop when everyone started questioning her nomination in the first place because Wang Zi Wen and Yang Rong were not nominated even though Yang Rong's "Da Shan Nu Er" has a douban score of 9+ it wasn't nominated. "Happiness to ten thousand homes" has the lowest tv ratings of the works directed by Zheng Xiao long even though they combined the ratings on both channels to top CVB rankings for the first half of the year or something (something that has never been done before and will of course end with ZLY 😉) yet it was nominated. Needless to say I've seen Wu Yue and Wang Zi Wen, ZLY's acting skills cannot compare. Their desperation is comforting though I'm worried for YM, if she's not careful her next two dramas will also be buried by ZLY's brutal marketing because ZLY only has Shen Li next year and she won't sit still and let YM get ahead.
Aside from being symbolic, the decision to kill the man felt very abrupt and their attempt to make up for the lacking justification in the end felt forced. They were all guilty and there wasn't much to put his own guilt above everyone else's. The man was toxic and selfish but I still felt terrible watching him lie in a pool of his own blood. Generally this should have been a 4 part mini-series, there weren't many memorable scenes. The extra time could have been used to delve into the many aspects that were too lightly touched on. Great music and cinematography though.
Actually there is an audience for mature roles in the genre so the problem isn't with YM's age. The question you should be asking is if the writing and directing can hold up and not waste YM... again
First of all we are 2 hearts away from 4000 on this page ahem ahem just saying. Harbin 1994 has been filming for 4 months now and the last I heard 80% has been completed. There are rumors that the crew is waiting for snow in the 4th quarter and will wrap up Septemberish others say August 🤷. After that YM will probably join another movie crew.
Xiang Liu is one of the 4 main leads and since you watched until ep 7 you think he should die. This is a 39 episodes…
A jerk is a jerk even if he happens to be a leading character. So far there's nothing to prove he's competent at what he does, so I can like or respect him a little. His brutality is pointless and it's really just poor writing. Next I'm expecting some silly sob story to excuse treating a human being like a farm animal ready and clean for him to suck off on.
