If they breakup it will be a cliche right??..There is only one reason for them to breakup.. Yi Jin will be one…
I agree….I don’t see HD asking for a break up. She’s so head strong about what she wants and she’s been in love with him for so long. Took her crying for him to kiss her. I doubt she would give him up easily….and then get married to someone else while still missing him and supporting him from afar. If it was me, I’ll be nursing my broken heart for awhile, last thing is to get pregnant with another guy’s child. And I don’t see any reason they should break up…..
Even if they decided to let each other go for the sake of their job I just can’t imagine them coming to a point…
Exactly…..at least not according to the timeframe in the drama. 5-6 years after break up while training and competitions…and healing from a break up. I doubt it….more like they are together and he’s supporting her so she’s winning all those gold medals.
I know i have been doubtful this past few days. But now, i can confidently say that baekdo endgame is real ✌🏻
For reals, me too. I’ve always thought it was baekdo endgame even after watching up to episode 14 but some of the comments here kept making me doubt myself. Personally, I don’t think this drama is a melodrama…it’s suppose to be light and happy, nostalgic of life in the past. The memories that was once there and no longer, doesn’t meant that they went their separate ways. All those talks usually center around HD-YR scenes. But for the HD-YJ scenes, it’s about supporting each other, being there for one another even if far away. Trying this kind of love, bracing oneself for the future unknown, sharing with each other’s their sadness and happiness. YR was her past, YJ is her future. After how much was invested in the development of their love relationship, it’ll be hard to convince me (and HD) that they can possibly break up. She loves YJ, can’t let him go so I don’t know how she can find someone else and have a child in the midst of training and winning all her golds.
What I really don’t get is how they are going to show so many things in two episodes 1. If YJ and HD broke up…
I agree too…they developed the relationship for them so much that it doesn’t make sense for them to end it. It’s going to be hard to give us a convincing break up after all the love confessions and scenes they put us through.
Wow…..How do people even have ears this well. But it could also meant her husband was with the baby….. 😭
While a lot of people are saying there is no endgame for them, I think there is. The ending of episode 14, she said she will send her support to him wherever he is, she will take care of everything until then. For me, that means she is holding on to whatever they have and is managing family life without him. Maybe baby and her have to live separately from him to avoid public speculations if they caught wind of a reporter and athlete in a relationship. That’s the only explanation I can think of why MC can’t recognize her father’s face. Plus, it doesn’t make sense for us to experience that last clip and then in episode 15, they take us back to the lovely dovely scenes between them. The break up should have a purpose and right now, there isn’t one. Why invest so much development to a love story and then crush us with a break up?
What if Minchae was the daughter of SW and HD is adopted mom, JW is adopted dad trying to raise the daughter up? What if HD wasn’t really married but just said she was now that she has a daughter to raised? Then her daughter got wind of mom’s diary and will play matchmaker for JY and HD to get back together? That could happen 😂😂
But I find it odd that HD married someone who shared similar qualities as YJ? Like MC’s dad being clueless about…
Don’t forget, she was still fencing up till 2009 when she got her third gold. So MC was born before that last gold. That’s what I don’t understand, how does she have time to find a guy, get married, have a baby, and still fence to get the gold. Now, yes it’s possible if one has a lot of supports but usually it’s very hard. So this part is where I’m the most confused at…
Min chae is 15 right now which means she was born in 2006 😫
Yeah, the timeline doesn’t make sense to me. If Minchae was born in 2006 and she won another gold in 2009, how come he didn’t congratulate her on her marriage and birth of her child? Makes me think that Minchae is adopted. Clearly she’s more interested in her mom’s previous love life than the how her parents met (I’d say YJ wasn’t her father).
Ugh, we know so far up until now that HD doesn’t want to lose YJ. It’s him that has an issue because he’s the reporter. What I don’t get is why couldn’t he just change career? Being a reporter wasn’t his dream anyway. So he’s going to give her up to be a reporter. If so then idk, maybe he doesn’t deserve to be with her. Throughout the drama, he talks about him important she is to him. She talks about how she can’t bare losing him. The only thing in their way is the reporter/subject conflict so if he is willing to let her go then no, girl deserve someone better who will fight for her. She’s always the one fighting for whatever she wants too. I’m sure she won’t give him up without a fight but it might be him that have her up. 😭😭😭

Ummm….then idk if it’s possible she was able to find someone else to fall in love with and have a daughter during the years she was still active as an athlete.
Minchae is what? 13? If so then based on year 2022, HD had her in 2009, which is about when she was congratulated on her marriage. So she was together with YJ until 2001…..that gave her 7-8 years to find someone else and fall in love. Very possible YJ isn’t the father but I’m going to say he is until the remaining episodes say otherwise.
Besides from all the drama, I just want to say how impressed I am with the acting from Kim Tae Ri. Every scene she is in, she portrayed it so well, including her fencing scenes. She also looked so young for her age, her portrayal of a high schooler was very believable compare to other actresses in her age group.
i agree 100% the whole show every time HD and YJ seem like they're going to have a big issue they just end up…
Agree….especially since they know the viewers are invested in this drama to find out who is the father, lol. So it make sense they throw us these kind of misleading scenes from the future but then we get something totally different when we go back to the past. And yes, they are both so supportive and understanding of each other, their relationship developed deeper with each episodes so it doesn’t make sense to change the direction of that. This isn’t a melodrama, it’s a coming of age drama and those usually ends on a good note.
I'm very convinced that Yijin and Heedo married but kept their marriage a secret, naming Minchae "Kim" officially…
That’s what I believe too….it’s too late in that drama to throw us a curveball with only two episodes left. Episode 15 from the preview focused more on deepening their love and support for each other. So it won’t make sense to introduce us to that then cut off their love completely.
