Right…..to end this beautiful relationship will not be only be sad but tragic. 😭😭😭

Guys, I’ve never been so nervous for an ending, for rooting for a couple before. Like, I’m so emotionally invested in this couple that I think I’m going to cry all the way through the last two episodes. Even I can’t enjoy my Business Proposal couple because I am still stuck worrying about our Baekdo couple. Why why why does tvN and the writers do that to us?? I don’t know how I’m going to recover with a sad ending.

Can you imagine how wild the fans will be if it’s Baekdo endgame? Lol it’ll be the drama of the year even though the year just started. I just realized how much more of these type of dramas we need: healing comforting ones with strong messages on how to live life.

Something must have happened after that interview….name changed or career changed. The mystery deepens 😂😂😂😂 just give us that happy ending and we will stop with theories! Lol

What I want to know is why was Minchae still looking for a connection between HD and BYJ in 2009 when her mom and dad are already married? If her dad isn’t BYJ, she wouldn’t need to go search if they were dating or have any news scandal. And why did BYJ have to interview HD? He’s no longer a reporter yet he has exclusivity to her right after winning her gold? She also looked like she was expecting him to be there at the end to congratulate her too, see how she fixed her hair? Lol ….oh and I think the “appa” is coming from her side instead of his. Maybe young Minchae recognize her dad on the screen. I don’t think they would allow her in the studio during a live broadcast.

Also, from episode 15 preview, we get a bed scene. Why give us that to prolong our support for the couple and then break our hearts?

The reporter/subject issue, I feel like it can be resolved easily. He doesn’t have to cover fencing…it’s not like it’s the only sport there is. Ask to be transferred to a different department. I think the obstacle is his family reputation. I think he doesn’t want that to hold her back since she at the peak of her career.

However, the timeline of things is confusing because if they broke up in 2001, she got pregnant in 2006, still competing till 2009 then that means she could have waited 5 more years after the break up to rekindled her relationship with him. That should be enough time for him to advance his career, hers too…win win situation you know. But if the writer just toss in a random husband then it makes me feel like yes, they didn’t try hard enough and their love wasn’t strong enough. Why gave us episode 13 then you know, with him being conflicted with his job and her, then to see him waver and fall for her. We also see her practically begging for him to love her back too. Why go through all that just to end it abruptly. That’s what I hope the writers need to see from the viewers point of view. Why make BYJ step over his boundary only to come back and say, I told you so, you shouldn’t have done it, it wasn’t going to work out. Now, some people might argue that it’s better to have experience it at one point then to never…..which is true if like you guys said, they tried everything they could to make it work and it didn’t in the end. If that is so, then I’m ok with that kind of ending….but I don’t know how the writers will do it in 2 episodes.

It doesn’t matter to me because he’s not NJH 😂😂😂. Plus, if they aren’t baekdo endgame then I don’t want to think he’s still waiting all this time for her. It’s time they move on. We don’t need to see him to break our hearts again

I agree….I think people are not upset at the overall drama but they are upset at the ending if it’s a break up one. Why? Because HD’s youth was center heavily on fencing with BYJ as her support. People might argue that their love wasn’t as important but I think it was from episode 1 all the way. He was a presence in her life and mentioned a lot in her diary. Then to drop the spoiler that they don’t end up together really upset fans because why wasted 13+ episodes developing a love story, make the ML questioned himself, make the FL have to practically begged him to love her back, then to break them up. Now, it’s up to the writer to explain why and to tied it up nicely in the end in a convincing way. Yes, not all endings are happy but all endings for a beautiful drama like this need to have a solid ending. And I think that this ending will determine if 1) the storyline was good from start to finish 2) if others will be willing to still watch it knowing that the couple doesn’t end up together.

For me, I think she doesn’t know BYJ because of the name change. Might not recognize the face and the name if she wasn’t told ahead of time that dad went by a different name. If she said yes, she would have to explain how she knows and then they would know she read HD’s diary. So she said no and hurry out of the room. I think if she doesn’t really knew him, she would have asked grandma for more information.

I agree….not enough time for that. Plus, I don’t want this route for them. That would mean that YJ never moved on and got married and waited for her this whole time. Either they are together in the end from start to finish or not together at all in the end.

I want to say that after watching the drama a few times over….I’m pretty sure we will have a happy ending for our Baekdo couple. The storyline has been consistent so far and if the writer keeps it up, the ending will be a happy one but after a few bumps along the way. I have faith in the writers to wrap this storyline up well. I’ll check back Sunday how accurate I am.

Seems like the writer is sacrificing their love to prevent the same mistake as the coach and mom instead of overcoming it and making it work. But that’s just speculation on my part due to the leaked spoilers.

3 days left to find out if they will be together. I know we have been blowing up this comment section with theories and our thoughts but please be considerate on Saturday and Sunday and use the “spoiler” when you are referencing to the ending, especially a sad ending. Thank you

What I don’t get is why couldn’t they hold out for 6 years and then get back together. She can still continue to complete and he can still continue to grow as a reporter. They can still remain long distance friends and rekindle their love later. Why the need for a break up and then throw a husband/baby into the mix. Clearly she isn’t over him from their 2009 interview. This whole young first love theory isn’t working for me. It works for YR-JW’s because we see their relationship grows but not as intense and as deep as HD-YJ. So it saddens me that their love isn’t strong enough to overcome whatever obstacle they faced. That when I look back at the episodes, I see a beautiful friendship blossoming into a beautiful love story but the writers decided to throw in a ending just because they wanted to have this young first love memory theme.

The one thing I love about this love story between HD and YJ is that they don’t need to be intimate like hugging and kissing to see the love they have for each other. The chemistry from KTR and NJH is so good, especially the way he looks at her with so much love radiating from his eyes. I watched a lot of dramas and this is the first time I felt strongly that this is a true love deal. I don’t know how the ending is going to be justified if they don’t end up together. It’ll just break my heart.

That’s not what we want to know NJH. We want to know if you are Minchae’s dad. 😂

Those are very good unanswered questions. I have those same thoughts too. Why did Minchae walked out of the room in a hurry and why does she have that flustered look on her face when grandma asked if she knew who BYJ is. Why is dad absent so much he doesn’t know what Minchae is into now. If BYJ still works at the same new station, then that means he’s still in the same town as HD. So why haven’t they cross paths and rekindle their relationship? Why she has to marry someone else??????! I think with two episodes left and a bunch of unanswered questions, I feel the endings will be rushed. Like we get love scenes in episode 15, they break up in 16, then it ends. No good enough explanation…..I feel like.

I’m still clinging on to the 1% hope that dad is still YJ. That she read her mom’s diary thinking YJ was some other dude and when grandma pointed it out that YJ was in the photo, she goes “so this is BYJ”. And then she is now rooting for mom and dad……lol, ugh, my heartache for them is real 😂

Ugh, I love HD-YR friendship and HD-BYJ’s love so much. Now HD is going to lose both of them and writer is throwing some random guy into her life. Like wth if it’s not BYJ??? Please don’t break our hearts, it’s already broken when YR left.
