This seems like a threat. If fans are unsatisfied and are rating low, who are you to say otherwise? Seems like…
I perfectly understand feeling disrespected by another country's portrayal of a culture- my country gets disrespected basically any time American media mentions it, so i get it too. But when i argue against my country being disrespected, i don't aggressively spam fan communities, or post rude comments to random people. I post civil comments highlighting what disrespected me, and i have civil discussions with other fans. I don't annoy random people because i know that it would only further harm my country's reputation, rather than fix anything

There's no threat here, i just think that the people spamming 1 star reviews and posting aggressive comments are only damaging their cause, rather than doing anything about the negative portrayal of their culture. I'm just saying people should be civil and discuss things rather than being aggressive and bothering international fans who did nothing.
It's fine to have opinions and be annoyed at how your culture has been portrayed on a tv show. No problem there. I hate how my country is represented on foreign tv, so i get that.
However, this website here is not affiliated with anyone involved in producing this show or other shows. This is purely a place for FANS to share and discuss dramas that they enjoy. If you spam 1 star reviews on a particular drama on MDL, you do not cause the drama any harm or anything. All you are doing is disrupting a fan community, and bothering people who are not involved with making the show.
No writer, director, producer, actor, or anyone involved in the show will see your reviews or comments posted on MDL. This is a fan website primarily in English. The show's creators will not see these comments. If you want the show's creators to hear your opinions and criticism, you need to contact them directly through the broadcaster (JTBC). It'd even be best to communicate through korean to get the KOREAN creators of the show to hear your points. (why do you think that Korean speaking writers are gonna bother using an English language fan website full of mostly non-korean users? They already have Korean social media to discuss Korean tv on anyway). You are just bothering international FANS here, rather than getting any justice.
You are doing more damage to the reputation of Arab countries. Even if you feel that you are in the right, and that the show disrespected you, by commenting rudely and spamming the website with bad reviews, you are portraying Arab people negatively, as people who can't take jokes, or who are overly sensitive, or aggressive, or annoying, or whatever. People who may not have viewed the Arab character in this drama as bad, may still go on to gain a negative perception of Arab people based on the angry comments from Arab users here. Please understand that I do not hold any negative views of the Arab people. I have respect for you as i do for any other people. I just find it interesting how people "fighting for a cause", as i'll call it here, often don't realise that when fighting for something, you seriously need to prioritise the general public's perception of you and your cause. If you react aggressively and cause annoyances for the general public who did not wrong you, you will only fall out of favour with the people who could have supported you, and you only do damage to your people's reputation. When you are campaigning for something, public perception is extremely important. How can anyone take you seriously if you cause an annoying disturbance and act rudely on a fan website that has zero affiliation with the show's creators. I know it can be annoying to act civilly and polite when you have been disrespected, but this is the best way to act if you want people to take your cause seriously and respect your opinions. You should start a civil discussion on how different cultures may be misrepresented in media, rather than just disturbing and annoying innocent people who are not your enemy. Let's all be civil adults, and have reasonable conversations, rather than an angry spat that changes nothing. MDL is not your enemy. Go discuss your opinions through the correct channels where you can actually speak to the broadcaster, rather than just shouting into the void at unrelated people, where the broadcaster will never read your comments.
Let's live good lives and treat eachother well. Even if it's difficult, let's speak civilly and start discussions rather than arguments. You're entitled to your opinions but you shouldn't bother other people with arguments and spam reviews. No one here created the show and the character you dislike
hey i don't agree at all with the people who are bombing this drama with 1 star reviews, but i think it'd be best for mdl if you stop commenting that people should kill themselves. Call them cunts or tell them to fuck off instead. I know it's not much better but saying "kill yourself" just crosses a line, making things a bit more serious. Their reactions are very.. extreme but i think it'd be best for all of us if we respond to them just a little bit more civilly. We've interacted on some other comment recently so i'm not having a go at you, i just think that the "kill yourself" comments are only feeding into the hate that the other people are giving this drama, and telling them that the people arguing against them are as bad as they are. That's all, have a good one
It's not free on Viki. It is a Pass Plus drama on Viki and requires a Viki Pass Plus subscription to watch because…
thanks for the info! i'll try that with a vpn. the reason i posted my original comment is that it used to say "Viki : Free" on this page. After i checked every country on viki with a vpn i submitted an edit to change it to say "Subscription". thanks
probably my favourite thai drama and purely because of the side characters... whenever the show cut to Duean's story, it was brilliant. The main romance barely matters... it's all about the side plot for me
yeah it's not on viki in any EU countries either. I can only see it on viki for countries in north and south america, but even for there it requires a subscription.
Don't beat yourself up if you can't get through season 2. I'm a diehard fan of season 1, and will forever sing its praises... it was my first drama, and it fills me with immense joy every single time i rewatch it...i ADORE it, but i have never managed to get past like episode 5 of season 2. I despise season 2. If an absolute diehard fan of season 1 hasn't managed to get through season 2, despite trying every year or so since 2017, you don't need to beat yourself up for not getting through it.
I laughed so much when they were trying to make their way from the airport to the guesthouse, and also when Hodong went to get food lmaoooo it's so funny so far
This was such a nice and refreshing show to watch during the summer. It's funny- I want to live in big bustling cities, but i still love countryside dramas haha. Yechan was so cute. honestly i only decided to watch this because i thought the title was so funny, but i found a real gem of a short series in here.
oh no i think I've reached the dreaded second half... still enjoying it though
Life's short, i'm putting on hold. if someone has watched this, please let me know if the second half ever gets better i.e. does the relationship between the two leads return to what it used to be.... does ML stop being weirdly mean to FL. I cant be arsed with political drama anymore

Things the film did terribly: adapting the original story concept and the general feel of the original urban legend
honestly i only decided to watch this because i thought the title was so funny, but i found a real gem of a short series in here.
