OK I'm going to admit it, episode 10 was Hye Sun and Jae Jin's time to shine. Loved their scenes. DamYeo - I'm not going lie, I wanted more kiss scenes, dates, I wanted him to wipe her lips from coffee foam and I wanted everyone in the cafe to see them all loved up, I wanted them having fun in the arcade with lots of skinship... gah... I knew there would be some hurt ,some angst this episode but I wanted more of the same of episode 9. I guess half my theory is correct regarding that random guy being God. I really dislike this God. I don't like that he is practically forcing Sun Woo and Dam together through his magic. Is this for the bigger picture? Does Woo Yeo need to be desperate enough to want to be human that his bead will turn blue? Is that it? 🤔I was initially conflicted with Dam for wanting to stay the distance from him out of fear. I romanticized that she would not care about herself but only for Woo Yeo's wellbeing. If he needed her energy she would give it even at the very risk of her health. It woke me up from my Romeo and juliet dream that they showed us what she was thinking. I realise her mindset and appreciated her perspective that Dam also had loved ones like her family and friends that would care for her well being. That resolved that issue for me. Also after yesterday's confession where she did accept responsibility even after Woo Yeo warned her, that expectation initially worried me about the direction they were going. That is why I appreciated the scene where Woo Yeo shape-shifted to Jae Jin and that Dam took the courage and held to her responsibility that they both in it together with figuring out the bead situation. That Woo Yeo is not alone tortured with this. SuperLoved that scene. I love when misunderstandings like Dam thinking she liked him more than he liked her. So sweet!!! Lastly I use to find the red string romantic I think this drama forever ruined it for me 🤣I wish I can just tell DamYeo - Be strong, Have courage, Love overcomes all things. I hope all my wishes come true that they have a happily ever after for my beloved DamYeo ❤Only 6 episodes left. Sigh. This is going to be the slowest most excruciating week for me. 😔

The deadline for a gumiho to become human is 1000 years. After the expiry if you are still a gumiho, you turn to an evil maegu. At this point of the show, im speculating based on the the little information we have been given throughout the show is that to become human requires Gumiho's red bead to turn blue in a Gumiho. Both Hye Sun and Woo Yeo do not know exactly how to get it to turn blue. Only that the accumulation of human energy helps them turn human. However, it can mean weakening or draining the person you are receiving the energy from. Basically using them and discarding them if they are lucky. If not, you like them so much and take from them for too long, you inadvertently harms or kills them. This was basically what happened to Woo Yeo, he killed the person he cared most about. After that eventhough he is still desirable to women, his guilt would not let him ever take that risk until he met Lee Dam and the bead was transfered by accident. As he is 999 years old, he doesn't have much time left and as we know from earlier episode Hye Sun and the only male gumiho - Woo Yeo just found out from their God that Gumiho would turn to an evil maegu if they didn't turn human by the deadline.

Why would you want to live forever ? When everybody you love and care about will grow old and die and leave you? Over and over for multiple lifetimes. Nothing is a challenge. You can pretty much do anything with your powers, always get what you want for centuries on end. Life becomes mundane and meaningless. I believe the show had alluded to this several times. If I remember this quote correctly: "to be human, is to be alive."

When Dam admits that she didn't lose her memory and pleaded with him to leave her be because her heart fluttered for him, her heart beat so fast for him..that she was so hurt he intended to wipe her memory without asking her first... the confession is so in keeping to the character and Hyeri hit it out of the park. Her hurt, heartbreak, love, confusion all wrapped up and served up. Bam! Bewildered Prof with this revelation, the montage of their relationship, the internal dialog...the feels.. how he finally could put into words why he is drawn to her and why he loves her....the transformation from an mythical animal to human was beautifully put together...I LOVE the Prof internal dialog script especially for this montage. It gets even more romantic in Jang Ki Yong's low deep masculine voice... his voice just so dreamy and safe... I can't get over the montage. Top notch to the editing and music department. And that embrace when she walked away and he goes to her and embraces her.... all anxious Prof and says..."I warned you.That you're too good for me.Now you can't take it back." I died and gone to heaven. He totally nailed it. They both nailed it. She closes her eyes and finally embraces him back like she surrendered to that responsibility....together with that song... that scenery.... love love love....I am so in love with this drama

Yes exactly no clingy misleading frustration. Yes a breath of fresh air seldom seen in kdrama land. I love that it's light and pace is fast. So satisfying when he finds out so cleverly that her memory wasn't wiped out so quickly, the sweet confession that came after that, the holding hands and even the Hye Sun being an ex gumiho was revealed so quickly and done so well. I was clapping to it like an idiot 🤪. Definitely this drama is keeping me engaged. The week went so slow and I'm always looking for spoilers 🤣 Whats next: The possibility seem endless and so much potential that I'm nervously excited. I can't wait for the next episode but I'm nervous that this drama crack is going to give withdrawal symptoms when it ends. This is definitely Jang Ki Yong's Year and he so deserves it. I can't see eoreushin/professor Shin/evil Maegu/gumiho-with-a-hunger as anyone else but him. Kudos to the casting team and all involved. I've already rewatch 3 times of episode 9. Still fawning all over it. Can't wait how tomorrow goes! Fingers crossed.
I previously thought episode 8 was the best episode but episode 9 takes the cake. I love that the memory issue was quickly resolved - no long drawn out misunderstandings. And the way it was resolved was nicely done. I feel this episode hit alot of high points. It had the best confession ever. Heart racing, sweet and direct! I love it. The hand kiss is genius. It is the sweetest, most romantic goodnight kiss in kdramaland. Their first date will stay with me a long time. It was funny, nostalgic and just the right dose when they realise how much they both like each other and gave us a glimpse of their cutest first date. And there's that kiss... what can I say. Jang Ki Yong has got to be the best kisser to pull off lovingly passionate to animalistic intensity. That plot twist is daebak... now how are they going to resolve this? Probably there will be angst, hurt feelings coming round the bend to get us there. 7 episodes left and I'm already afraid to miss this drama.. I just hope there is a happy ending. Praying to Drama Gods. Theories about what's going to unfold :-*The random man at the bus who stared at Dam - seems sinister - either it's the shape-shifting God who is not happy Hyeri is interfering into Gumiho's natural order? Or he is Hyeri's Dad who is a Gumiho? Her Dad is mysteriously absent from the show. And there's the fact that both her mom and Dam are immune to the memory wipe. *Dam in danger that Gumiho might not be able to control his animal instincts and consume all her human energy. I think this is plot point where they get to show Gumiho's inner conflict between love and his primal animal instinct to consume. I would love to see that character arch from Animal cold Gumiho to Human tenderness Woo Yeo because of his love for her. Will there be a cost to this? I hope not. But which greatest love story has no cost/sacrifice ? *The blue bead - Another plot angst is will he never turn human, turn into a maegu because he has already taken back the red bead and no longer looking for another human to give him the blue bead because he loves Dam. If Dam finds out he will turn to a murderous monster if he doesn't turn human how will she feel? Dam might be that special girl to turn him human but how will it happen and at what cost???? What do you think? 🤔
