Sorry for bring dumb but I just don't understand what is going with the empress dowager and the princess's maid…
Here's my take:

The consort dowager once wants her son to be the crown prince. But she faced a lot of struggles, including her own lil bro (ruoshi's dad) who turned out was having an affair with a demon. She don't want anyone to know that her family has any association with a demon so she destroys the place where her lil bro's demon ex was residing (the qilin mountain). That's the first part.

Second part, one of the demon that used to live in qilin mountain was so angry he wants to take a revenge. He came in disguise and made a deal with the consort, that he can make her son to be the crown prince. But she has to sacrifice a lot of people, and her own daughter (the princess). She can't bring herself to do it so she look for another girl with similar birthdate and fortune path, to take her daughter's place. And then she held a ceremony, where she trapped the whole mass of people in the temple in a fire.

Whoops, that was not a brief, but hope that helps πŸ˜…

It's so funny to see people breaking down in defense after seeing AvenueX's review for Yong Ye Xing He.https://youtu.be/DxT17UmC6N4?si=qmoYCmTCB7BSQVLwI…
i've watched the video this morning and i don't see any bad comments that seems to hate on anyone. the few top comments that i saw from quick scrolling are mostly positive. anyway, i agree that esther (and may other actress, but that's a story for another day) probably doesn't deserve most of the hate that she's getting. but just because somebody says they don't like her voice or acting, doesn't mean they hate her as a person. people are entitled to their own opinion and they're allowed to express it in public space, as long as it doesn't harm anybody.
and yeah, most international drama viewers probably knows avenuex because she's been in the game longer than most people, at least in youtube i think. doesn't mean everything she says is valid. at the end of the day, she has her own preference, and her reviews, though mostly based on somewhat technical aspects is not necessarily objective. of course having some influencer or public figure validating things that we like feels great, but we don't have to believe or take everything that she says religiously.

Guys, please don’t take this as an offense. My intention is to understand the unique appeal of this show. It’s…
I can't say that i've been a long time cdrama viewer (probably just been about 2 years). I've watched a few dramas with similar trope (character transmigration into a book/game) and i have to say in terms of story it's not super revolutionary; things have been going quite predictable. But i have to say, it scratch an itch that i have been having for a fun and entertaining fantasy drama, with minimum amount of suspension of disbelief for it's genre. The executions, in terms of acting and visual effect is also pretty good, like nothing that is glaringly distracting me from the story.
In short, in my opinion, it's not perfect but it's enough to make it enjoyable for me, in comparison to anything else that i've watched this year.

They are the Water Demon, supposedly a flashback of what happened before.
Wow I totally did not realize that they're the same person! The wonder that costumes and make up can do! Thanks for the answer ^^

#LoveGameInEasternFantasy debuted with a solid 7.5 Douban rating from over 100k votes πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ Compared to MDL,…
Nice to know that it's doing well because it's the drama that finally pulls me out of my drama drought this year. I'm sensing a pattern that my favorite cdramas are usually the ones that's released around the end of the year. Here's hoping that it will maintain the quality until the end.

I will never get used to c-dramas randomly changing the number of episodes they release per day... let's start…
There's actually a pattern to that XD
They're releasing 2 ep per day every friday-monday, and 1 ep per day on tuesday-thursday. I'm guessing they're going to drop the final express episodes on nov 16 cause there's no schedule after nov 15. I got it from the wetv app though so schedules may differ if you're watching it on another site.

So getting 100% favorability from musheng is miao2's final mission to get back to real world. But why am I seeing little 99% on the logo πŸ€”?
I don't read the novel but i took a peek at the final chapters and it looks like they reached 100% in the novel. So the drama would probably end differently than the novel.
I mean, we already know, the drama has a slightly different characters setting than the novel (novel mu sheng is an actual fictional character that manages to jump into the real world and ended up being a corporate slave lol; meanwhile drama mu sheng has hints of somewhat having ties to real world). But this little 99% got me overthinking that something big is going to happen in the drama and miao2 is going to fail her mission somehow πŸ€”

Yes, that's why I'm wondering, to what extent/what are the rules of fu zhou's transmigration into the story is. Often times (at least from the dramas that i've watched so far) they don't really explore this, and just simply show the modern version of the characters at the end with no explanation and i just feel cheated that way πŸ˜…. It's perhaps just a 'me' problem cause lots of people don't have problem with open ending. I just think, transmigration stories with game system should have clear rules and limitations. Otherwise it would feel like they're just there as an easy plot device.

Ding yuxi and esther yu's acting is very fit for the role, except that one part when they're in the reverse world…
I have problem with fu zhou theory though. If musheng is indeed fu zhou who transmigrated as a character, the acting is a bit too real. The sister complex; the vulnerability as half demon in hiding; he takes all stakes a bit too seriously. In comparison, miao2's decisions are very calculative and the slightly delayed response is in line with the extra layer of her character. If he's indeed fu zhou, he must not be aware of/have access to the game system. Otherwise how could he killed her over and over, did they memory-wipe him over and over too? That's just too absurd. If he truly has the author's perspective, why did he try to send miao2 away? At what point did he transmigrated into the story anyway? Before, after, or at the same time as miao2?

Ding yuxi and esther yu's acting is very fit for the role, except that one part when they're in the reverse world and he asks 'you don't hate me?', she *shakes head*, *faints*. I had to laugh cause the fainting looks so fake haha. But other than that, i really like that they make an overused trope feels fresh and fun.

I used to unable to tolerate esther's cutesy voice and mannerism but here it works perfectly cause she's the type of character that you just can't hate. She's very aware of her surroundings and able to react quickly, a very high EQ type of character (you could say, the cute mannerism is her defense mechanism). Meanwhile, after watching MOTGA, seeing ding yuxi playing this grumpy half demon here is much more refreshing. I feel like, despite both being tsundere characters, his performance is much more relaxed as mu sheng compared to when he was acting as shen du. I just wish we could hear his own voice, but they probably has problem with his accents or something; as a non native speaker i don't have the full context so i can't really complain about the dub.

Overall, so far i'm really enjoying this. It fits my initial expectations for a light and fun period fantasy drama like BFTB. But I hope it won't take a nosedive after the second half mark like BFTB as well.

Is the end airing date of Nov 15 accurate? It doesn’t show on the airing calendar. I like to binge watch so…
wetv app VIP schedule is: 1 ep/day except Nov 2-4, 8-11, & 15 (2 ep/day) so we can assume it ends around Nov 21st for VIP members (unless they plan to release the last 8 episodes as express package on Nov 15th). The Nov 15th end date could also work if they plan to release more than one express episode per day, but as of now , they only release 1 express episode per day.

Mu Sheng is such a cheeky brat and definitely has some sort of sister complex. At this point Miao2's missions…
The gold toad demon definitely reminds me of no face monster from spirited away. Also the dust demons are very reminiscent of susuwatari (from both spirited away and totoro)

Mu Sheng is such a cheeky brat and definitely has some sort of sister complex. At this point Miao2's missions are basically catering to his tantrums and to keep his mood away from blowing up into a killing rampage lol.
The drama is pretty fun and and i love the humor so far. It's also very easy (both the story and visual) to watch.
