same! i always love when ML character in a drama does this; looking at her like he's constantly in awe that this capable and gorgeous lady is now his wife, so full of fascination and amazement... ugh it makes me feel so single lol

The whole wei family don't deserve any descendant tbh. It's probably the universe's plot to put a dead end to this family 😬.

Just finished marathoning all the aired episodes yesterday, I'm glad i choose a relatively happy point to start this (the wedding episode was one of the most epically funniest i've ever seen). This drama is low key addictive. I came here with zero expectation, but when i checked the crew behind this, turns out it's made by my favorite short drama director! No wonder the style is so familiar, and everything on screen feels like a treat for the eyes.
Another thing that i like is that they don't dwell on the emotionally draining part. Like, some drama loves to milk the viewers tears, but this drama, they showed the characters low point, but immediately pick them up again. Pacing is also good enough cause so far i don't feel like i've stumbled into any boring point. Even though it took me a while to remember the characters and the conflicts between them (and idk if it's just a 'me' problem cause i feel like they're all look very similar and styled very similarly, especially the older male characters), but all in all it has been quite enjoyable. Eagerly waiting for the next episodes, i hope this would be able to maintain the quality until the end.

Finding this on 2024 is weird, cause it has similar premise to lovely runner (with different character background), but this one actually came out earlier. Then again, it's not like a time travel based story is completely new. Of course comparing a full length drama to a micro drama is not apple to apple. Regardless, I think this one did pretty well given all the limitations.

This is a short and sweet drama that's very bingeable! Not in the sense that it's addictive or attention-grabbing, but more like, it's so light and comforting that it's so easy to digest. The comedy is a hit or miss, but i love basically all the characters (the 'villains' are pretty much one dimensional but easy to ignore). There's no extreme high or low in terms of mood. Even the sad part is still digestible.

I'm also pleasantly surprised by how easy the romance has been going. Of course with 12 episodes, there's not much room to drag, which is a good thing cause we don't have to deal with nasty ex or dreading love triangles.

knight flower is good if you're into period dramas, though it was more FL-driven, but he did pretty well as a very supportive ML!

Tbh, same. The transition was quite abrupt, even more so because i binge watched it so there's no time for me to mull over their relationship. One moment they meet after ten years, and the next second she's in love?? Even their first kiss felt somewhat wrong because i wasn't sure she was there yet with her feelings. But then she just accepted it? Was she being gaslighted or something?
I understand that for sanha, juwon has always been a welcoming presence and him developing feelings for her was a natural progression. But her? When? How?

Just finished watching all the aired episode and everything's dandy except, during the first half of the series i was somehow under the impression that sanha was the oldest among the three of them. I was pretty sure at some point heejun even called sanha 'hyung'. And then all of a sudden heejun is the oldest now? Idk it's just confusing for me 😅

I'm not refuting the fact that one could've made better choices in her position. I'm just pointing out possibilities. When you live an unstable life (no home, unstable income), if you want to dress well you have to invest your time to find clothes that would fit your body, can be easily mix and matched into various combination, durable enough, and priced within your budget. People have different priorities and not everybody have the luxury.

But yeah. This could also be just because shen yue is always being styled this way in every single one of her dramas, and the stylist just got lazy. Who knows.

i know nothing about fashion but it's probably done to highlight that she's not someone who pays close attention to her attire. Most (not all, of course) people who has to juggle several side jobs don't really have the luxury to dress well. She's probably aiming more for comfort than anything else.

Definitely did not expect that something that is being tagged as comedy and romance would have this sort of atmosphere. Upon checking the team behind it, turns out the director is closely related to action thriller genre. No wonder the cinematography feels a bit different from the standard Chinese romcom.
I'm at episode 8 but I'm still having a hard time to connect with the characters. The pacing make sense considering it has 34 episodes. But I wish I've waited longer so i could just binge it all in one go.

Demon genes probably has cheat codes that makes them never sweat and never has body odor :D based on the worldbuilding it's not completely off the rails; considering cuicui's grandpa didn't even need to mate to be able to have offsprings 😁

yea. the sleepier she is, the more passive and, dare i say, boring? it was her wit and the extra layer of her modern thinking that made the drama interesting to me. now, i understand that this is supposed to be the point (the fact that she's slowly losing herself), but i wish this part would be over soon.

Ruoshi gave ziqi the bracelet but no single point was made about how this item has singlehandedly cause the heartbreak of the century? Also apparently everybody and their mother already knows that ziqi is half demon EXCEPT for mu yao? But what triggers the consort and ruoshi to find out about ziqi's bloodline in the first place; is it just because a mere 'they look so much alike'? Also, not to be racist(?), but how could ziqi be a half demon while also be a heavenly guardian (?) at the same time?

There are probably even more questions but these are just the ones that i could mention at the top of my head for now. I hope fuyi's master would also have answers to some of these. I don't think he actually mean any harm to show ziqi's true form. Afterall, it's his place and he already set the rules that everyone must show their true selves before they could enter. I don't think he hates ziqi or any demon for that matter. It's just the fact that ziqi was lying that put him off.

How is it possible to leave us with more questions than answers lol
