Things are still under investigation... As I followed the news one speculation came after the other, first they…
No. It’s all false info by the government likely trying to shift the blame off of themselves. That being said, this was not really an organized event. It was more a general outdoor celebration in one of the most busy and lively areas of Seoul where there are steep hills. In that case, the responsibility falls on the police and the local government to manage everything. They knew based on past years that this year would also have many people coming to Itaewon (some people can flew over from others parts of Korea and there were foreign citizens). It’s also occurring after the pandemic so ppl were extra excited to go.
Any bs about celebrities or the crowd stampeding (it’s not even a stemless but a crowd crush) are all false news spread by government and media outlets who want to shift the blame to the victims. It’s like the 2016 Sewol ferry accident that killed many high schoolers but the Korean government even tried to hide it to save their reputation on the international stage. If the city was competent and took into consideration how large it would be and had proper personal, this wouldn’t have happened.
I've read that the stampede occurred while countless mostly young fans were trying to get close and see a local…

I'm surprised at how good the setup of this show is. Everyone is playing their roles really well. I'm a big fan…
It’s really fun without being too childish. I like the fact Jebi is supposed to be this evil villain/arrangont pop star in real life as well as the novel but she’s an actual sweetheart.
Look at how many people rated it. It’s only one person who did. Watch it for yourself.
It just started tho??? I really don’t know what to say except that maybe you should wait until it finishes bc I can’t predict things either. Maybe someone is doing a recap? You could search them up if you’d like. Just based off of my experience being on MDL, if there are ppl who rate dramas only after 3 eps have been out, they probably has some unjustified hate against one of the actors and want to bring them down. It was only one person who gave it such a low rating, everyone else liked it and it’s rating has gone up is all I wanted to say.
Every airing drama in October will have these themes, and dramas glorifying army, police, service men or just…
October 1st is China’s National Day so it isn’t surprising. There’s plenty of our country is the best rhetoric in other Asian dramas and there’s many cdramas with non propagandist plots airing rn as well. Draw the Line and Light Chaser Rescue are both really good dramas with interesting plots. Agree with you though that this drama and Hutong were VERY blatant about benign flag waving shows.
Check the tag, it has also other countries. But yes, most of the propaganda content is from China.
“K-drama praising the authoritarian regime of Park Chung-hee in the 70s.”
Snowdrop was a propaganda even Koreans themselves disliked a lot but you don’t see any propaganda tags there. Interesting the double standards MDL has.
I feel like Netflix is influencing what dramas are being made. What type of shows that the western or American…
Nah. Japan has always been known for pushing boundaries and covering unconventional stories in a respectful and humane matter. Despite what twitter and Fox News tell you, this ain’t an example of Netflix being “woke.” It is nothing new for long time jdrama fans and Netflix is just dying to appeal to them.
You as viewers can ALL blame yourselves for the ending of Fox Volant. You were the ones who rooted for The Untamed.Let…
I’ve never seen The Untamed? This is my first Wuxia drama actually. I only watched it bc I like the two lead actresses Liang Jie and Xing Fei. Thank you for straight up spoiling the ending of The Untamed tho.
Strong girl falling in love with the wimpy CEO male lead she has to protect is a VERY common trope. Don’t go around screaming plagiarism when you’re a frog in a well. Funny how kdrama fans will yell China! and shit their pants at the first sign of a similarity between their precious kdramas and cdramas but suddenly go blind when kdramas like Alchemy of Souls blatantly rip off xianxia dramas lol.
Well China many times, rip-off's other countries dramas, without saying it's a remake :P So it's possible, it…
Hanbok does originate from China. Of course there are Korean elements that make it different but there’s bound to be some similarities. The same goes for some Japanese traditional clothing as well. In fact a lot of East Asian clothing have similarities as a result of cultural exchange. Japan and Korea has also modeled their government and writing systems after China before. Even today Korea uses Hanja while Japan has Kanji. During the Yuan Dynasty, Korea was entirely a vassal state of the Mongol emperor Kublai Khan, many Mongolian princesses were married to Korean kings in order for the Yuan Dynasty to control them.
The last emperor of the Yuan Dynasty even had a Korean consort who spread a lot of the Gyoryeo fashion amongst the court. Even during the Qing dynasty, you had emperors with Han, Manchu, Mongol, Korean consorts. Heian Japan was literally modeled after China. Of course there’s going to be all kinds of exchanges and sharing of cultures when you have people intermarrying and influencing each other. It’s really funny to me this debate over who owns what when historical evidences prove literally everything is a result of inventions and ideas from different cultures.
The cover thing I agree with tho. Designers wanting clout and being uncreative; most of them are posters from crappy short dramas that are targeted towards 13 year olds and are crated by small studios. I’ve personally never seen big creators like Tencent, Youku, MangoTV, WeTV blatantly rip off posters like that.
Female leads with super strength, or an upbringing that allows them to be more powerful than normal people is a common trope though.
https://kisskh.at/4746-sweet-sweet-bodyguard Literally a Taiwanese drama from 2012 that has the same strong girl and ceo trope. The Korean movie My Mighty Princess from 2008 also has the same supernaturally powerful girl trying to fall in love trope. Korean dramas get inspired by Chinese dramas too without giving credit. Alchemy of Souls was literally a xianxia drama and blatantly ripped off costumes form existing xianxia dramas like The Blue Whisper and Ashes of Love but ofc kdrama fans don’t wanna talk about that.
