I don't now what happened too, I don't know if she was real or just his imagination
I don't think it is his imagination since she was told by Mother Dragon that she had to seek after the Xiao Family jade. I feel bad for Xiao Yan, he had put so much trust in her only to get stabbed in the back like that.
Wait what is Xuner's mission? Did she just rob him in his weakest moment and leave him to die alone? What? I don't understand? What just happened? HELP?
This is one of the strangest genres I have ever watched. Frankly, I considered dropping this drama after ep 5 but then I decided to give it a chance for I didn't want to judge the drama so early. I admit that there are many things that I don't understand and that I skipped so many scenes but Xiao Yan is very lovely a character, I couldn't not root for him and accompany him in his journey. His academy fellows & Xuner are also fun to watch. I am literally only watching this for the main character, good job writers for making such engaging characters. Haha I came here after I had watched The Long Ballad and I'm impressed with how versatile Leo Wu's acting is. From the charismatic general Sun to the mischievous child Xiao Yan, it was truly interesting to see him in different lights. And knowing that in this drama he was so young (what? 17-18?) but was still able to deliver his lines and emotions so well, it makes him even more impressive to me as a viewer.
So they wrote "SUN" as شمس in the subtitle? (How did they write "Ashile"? أشيل or عشيل? I still have…
Yes Sun became شمس in the Arabic subs and I was dying seeing that because I knew it's a mistranslation but at the same time I loved it despite of how cheesy it looked and sounded. HAHA I mean who wouldn't really agree that he's the sun of Grasslands and Changge? Right? >< As for Ashile, it was not even translated. They just put the English word and that's it lol Thanks God I watched it originally with English subs. Too bad both lead characters are fictional. I would've loved to read more about them. <3
After having watched this drama and loved it wholeheartedly, I recommeded it to my mother and sister (veteran fans of K-dramas) yup they are totally in love with it as well. Ashile Sun and Sher have totally stolen my sister's heart (who's supposed to be studying for an important exam lol) and mum can't get enough of the drama itself. We are all left thirsty for more. Too bad that no news of season 2 to satisfy us. We don't want to bid you farewell drama. :( Funny information: the Arabic subtitles of the drama were too literal that Sun was literally translated as "SUN" (Shams) as in the star of the solar system and everytime this word showed up on the sceen, we couldn't help but scream and melt for the word suited Ashile Sun really well. LOL Anyways, I have one question: Many characters actually did exist back then but is Ashile Sun a real historical figure? I couldn't find anyone of the same name as I googled. Maybe they changed the name of the figure in the drama for some reason I don't know?
I just finished watching this and I have to admit that I'm mindblown. This drama was the right choice to start my C-drama journey. It has everything I like: a well-written historical plot, chemistry, strong and smart female lead, respectful and patient (handsome ♡) male lead, interesting side-romances, loveable supporting characters (MuJin, Mimi, Leyan, HaoDu...), nice background music, character growth especially that of Sher, Leyan and HaoDu). Moreover, it had me thinking about my perspective on wrong and right. Not to mention ofc the authentic cultural aspects of the Chinese history. I'm personally full of joy that I decided to give this a try. I have so many scenes engraved in my memory such as Changge handing Gongsen's head to the Ashile Tribe, the death of Sun's mother and the surrender of Sher and his wish to spare the Wolf Division. Three powerful scenes that will remain in my heart thanks to the superb acting of the cast. I'd like to clap for the heartwarming brotherhood of Sher and Sun too. This drama deserves a 9 from me. Btw, I'm fan of Leo Wu now, gonna watch all his dramas to cure my mind that's suffering from withdrawal syndrom. Bye.
i think this is quite fast pace especially in the early eps for a chinese historical drama. don't know if that's…
Besides the female lead, I'm impressed with how the male lead is written. He is very respectful and decent. Not to mention how patient he is. He rarely takes reckless moves and he really cares for the lives under his control. All the characters except for Shuyu are impressive tbh.

I'm okay with fast pace as long as it's reasonable. For this drama and since it was my 1st C-drama, I initially thought it was a bad things but thanks God the pace slowed down a bit after a few episodes which helped me to be more invested in the story and the character. Now I'm totally in love with the drama. :)
I enjoyed this despite of the drag here and there. The political plot was great. It's actually what kept me watching along with Jung Il Woo's undeniable saeguk charms. Haha Btw, the character growth of the 2nd ML DaeYeop & his back story were truly astonishing. Good job drama.
This is my first Chinese drama and I just finished ep 2 but I have a question: Is it a normal thing for the pace of events to be that fast in Chinese dramas? Also, can you please recommend me some valuable historical Chinese dramas? Romance is not a necessity, actually I would be more than happy if the dramas are focused on real history and personalities. Thank you in advance.
I don't usually watch rom-coms but this one got my interest. Jang Kiyong is exceptionally handsome here, I can't blink away of him and his character is like very calm and nerdy but in a funny way I can't explain. LMAO The sound effects & the funny little drawings are also funny.
