The red outfit wasn't really noticeable in the drama as it was more of a dark red velvet top and the drama pretty much didn't really emphasize it. I think the drama is leaning more toward the Chinese wedding dress. The manhua will probably draw it in a couple of chapters. But if you want to you can read it here https://wondernovels.com/novels/accidental-love/chapter-5-2-do-you-have-a-girlfriend/
Yes there was lot of subtlety in the drama that you really need read the novel to understand what they are hinting at. Their text convos are hilarious. Shu Yi is a flirt in text while in real life she cant even hold the candle.
Both are in the novel.. There is a double meaning for the red dress when Shi Yan answered that he likes her in red. First, is that during their first exchange when Shi Yan took Shu Yi to his uncle horse riding ranch for the first time, Shu Yi changed into a red horse-riding outfit which has left a big impression on him. And the second meaning is that red dress is worn in Chinese wedding, hinting that he wanted to see her in Chinese red wedding dress and marry her.
For the "making cake" scene, Shu Yi was piss off that her ex keep on texting her and asking her what she was doing. In the heat of the moment she wrote "making love" as a reply however before she hit send, Shu Yi noticed that Shi Yan saw what she wrote so due to embarrassment she changed to "making cake". However in Asian culture, making cake can also be use as innuendo for sex depending on the context lol. Pretty much anything related to cooking can be use as innuendo for sex such as cooking rice, pounding cake, and etc. Therefore you have the scene of Shi Yan ordering cake to tease Shu Yi afterward. The prior "making love" text can't be shown in the drama so they probably cut it to follow censorship rule.
To the novel reader and those who are interested, Only For Love was recently adapted into manhua. So far just only 5 chapters has been released on Jan 17. The artwork is beautiful.
I am watching the 1st episode because I don't know how characters like the ML can become the ML. This drama is…
Just to get the fact straight before you lead other astray, you are confusing the screenwriter with the actual writer of the novel for both drama you mentioned are based on. That's doing a disservices to the actual writer. The novel that this drama is adapted from is Accidental Love aka Cuo Liao is written by Qiao Yao while The Legend is actually written by Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. The only common between these two adaptions is the screenwriter that you mentioned. However, the screenwriter didn't developed these characters as these are to be attributed to the actual writer. I would say, the screenwriter has followed the major plotlines from the material book with few additional characters and storyline. Could the screenwriter do more to improve the storyline? Absolutely! I disliked the addition of the character Yi Yang but that her creative choices. None of the characters in this drama nor the Legends had perfect characters so I don't know what you are talking about lol. They all had their flaws. FYI, the FML never stayed overnight with whom she was supposedly interviewed, she went home and slept after she finish writing the interview. At best you can call it overtime. And what does Yu Zheng has to do with this drama except being the Boss of Bai Lu? Yu Zheng didn't produce this drama.
Nah, most video of them put together are actually with the filming crews, the director was in one of those, too.…
You are right. The dating rumor broke out last year around September when Bai Lu was filming for Keep Running special season 10. Their dating rumor resurfaced again in September of this year when ZLH was seen wearing a similar bracelet that Bai Lu has been wearing for months prior. When SOKP was about to air, it was actually their broke up rumor that surfaced.

I find both compatible with her as both are equally handsome in their own way. With Dylan, Bai Lu is like a playful, carefree girl while with ZLH, she is like a little mei mei who like to tease gege.
Only for love broke the streak of BL’s consecutive 8+ rating in MDL where she is the main lead since Jiu Liu…
If the screenwriter hasn't add Yi Yang character, it would have stayed an 8. She got a lot of flack for hanging out with him and it started to decrease once his character show up. His character was unnecessary.
I am wondering the same thing. Where is it? I am VIP iQIYi so unsure why I can’t see the last 6 episodes 🥲
They are competitor however Mango is the one that produced this drama. Mango only sold the broadcast right to international market, such as iQiyi, Viu and Viki meaning only Mango is exclusively allow to broadcast in China to the Chinese market. The Chinese market is their main target while the international market are just bonuses.
She find him attractive but she mainly pursue the ML because of revenge. Him being the person she needed to interview…
She believe that his niece is the girlfriend that her ex-boyfriend cheat with in order to climb the social ladder. So if she successfully pursue the ML, she will be in a higher family status than the ex in which the ex and his girlfriend has to respect her.
I'm on episode 7, and the FL seems to be pursuing the ML, but does she really have feelings for him, or is she…
She find him attractive but she mainly pursue the ML because of revenge. Him being the person she needed to interview was coincidental so killing two birds in one stone.
Let me be honest with you, I have read the novel 2 years back before I was aware of who was going to partake in…
Absolutely agree with you that respectful negative reviews should be respected and shouldn't be label as anti. I have only seen selected few to label to do so. But I think their post is more directed toward the Chinese audience homebase such as the Weibo/douban situation. With any drama, there's bound to be a mixture of fan/anti/passerby. I have seen on multiple occasions when the score was 8.3, there are comments indicating that it's undeserving and should be lower and questioning of how can people like it. What's deserving or not when it is all a matter of opinions? But really no drama deserve a rating of 1 unless it promote sexual abuse or child exploitation. When the rating actually started to drop they actually come back to gloat just so they can feel validated. That is just distasteful to me. By any mean this isn't the worst drama till date. In my opinion Here We Meet Again that aired this year was way more frustrating than this but was way less scrutinized because of lesser popular actors/actresses. Drama with lesser popular actors/actresses tend to have more leeway.
I have no problem with the actors, it’s not like I know them personally. I do however have a problem with people…
:) No problem. I like Janice Wu but her character in that drama doesn't do it for me. Her best one/most noticeable one is probably Le Coup de Foudre aka I Don't Like this World, I Only Like You that she filmed with her ex-husband.

Oh then I guessed you haven't seen Here We Meet Again that aired this year. Lmao. To me that is the most frustrating drama due to constant work-place gossips that took place 50% of the time.
Let’s be honest here. Would you still stick to this drama if the leads are lesser known actors, those without…
Let me be honest with you, I have read the novel 2 years back before I was aware of who was going to partake in this drama. It was a cute and fast read so I wasn't expecting thought provoking drama. I will definitely stick to the drama to see how they are going to portray it. If anything, the novel was meant to be a 24 epi drama adaptation. So far they has done pretty close as they kept the majority of the story line of novel with the additions of a few characters and business talk so I would say about 80%.
I don't mind the negative reviews but the problem I have seen quite a few times with the negative reviews is how they questioned the people that actually like the drama such as how can anyone like such a brainless, plotless drama, only the fan like it and blah blah blah. Some were even making personal attack such as if you like this kind of FL then you must be such and such in real life. It just came as offensive. You might not see the plot but others do as everyone has different interpretations and their own likes/dislikes. Everyone has right to voice their own opinions including the positive and negative ones. Let's all agree to respect all.

I was fortunate to come across a novel translation a few years back did a great job translating their text messages convo so it was an easy read.
Loved the green-color scheme for the cover page
When SOKP was about to air, it was actually their broke up rumor that surfaced.
1. BL: Do you like DIY craft?
ZLH: I like watching you DIY.
2. ZHL: What are you looking at?
BL: I'm looking at you cook.
(Basically the whole scene in the kitchen was GOLD)
3. ZLH's stare, lip biting smile when BL was sing her OST Snow season.
4. ZLH's sparking eye looking at BL when placed their daughter on her lap.
5. When ZLH making the "loving dumpling" for BL.
6. TBC
