How could he? When was he supposed to explain everything to her? She has been too busy getting the Yans thrown…
Umm.. Did you intentionally forget that the Yan got into exile because Xie Wie wanted to punish them for disrespecting the Emperor edict as an excuse for the Yan to get far from the palace control??? No one was going to exile the Yan until the Xie Wie requested it. Why is it now Ning Er fault? Please redirect to epi 16 @25:50 for those who fail to follow along the story. According to Xie Wei, the Yan were to be punished and imprisoned because Yan Lin fought with the Duke Xue making the edict to fall onto the ground therefore indirectly disrespecting the emperor not because of the scuffle or the sword prior to the ceremony
Is this real life? I am sorry, when I watch or read a romance novel, I don't need my ML to be politically correct.…
First and foremost, it wasn't due to the sword or the scuffle between the Xue kid before the ceremony that got the Yan imprisoned. The Yan were punished and imprisoned because Yan Lin fought with the Duke Xue making him dropping the edict onto the ground therefore indirectly disrespecting the emperor. Please redirect to epi 16 @25:50 for those who fail to follow along the story. Plus no one was planning to punish the Yan until Xie Wei requested the Yan to be exile so indirectly it is Xie Wei fault for the Yan's exile.
Publicly giving a sword without a sheath to a man who is under house arrest and forbidden to have weapons is,…
They are under house arrest for further investigation meaning no can come in or out, basically staying put. They aren't charged or seized, none of their weapon were seized as you can see when the Xingwu guards wanted to search the Yan mansion, the guard wasn't even allow to enter, meaning Yan people still has their weapon on them and they weren't treated as rebel until further proof, case-in-point the emperor even allow the Yan to have that come of age ceremony. Giving a sword as birthday present that moment may be iffy and not the brightest but it is not against the rule. If weapons were truly forbidden, they would have searched all the guests that came to the ceremony. She did it under the the Princess knowledge and she were just treading between the line. It would be another case if she were to smuggle weapons.
It's understandable if some find what Ning Er did is frustrating but to call her an idiot is uncalled for when the choice she made, given the circumstances, pretty much aligned with her character motivation. She has every right to make those choices based on the given info that she currently has. Xie Wei ain't God to know what Ning Er is planning to do, so is Ning Er. She doesn't know what Xie Wei is planning and based on what we have seen of her so far, she ain't going to wait around for someone to save her or the people she wanted to save. She has to take the risk and do what she can, whether it work out or not because she isn't omnipotent. She did the same when she was blamed for the jade septre case, taking chances. Once she fail to use common sense then you can call her an idiot. Same goes for everyone else, they are just following their character motivation.
I'm having problem seeing comments linking Jiang Xue Ning to Mary Sue character archetype. How is she Mary Sue when Ning'Er herself is someone who is flawed? Mary Sue refers to someone who's unrealistic flawless, free of weakness, extremely talented, you name it, basically an idealistic person. Just because she has 3 people pinning for her doesn't mean she is Mary Sue. An attractive person shouldn't be equate to Mary Sue like. She is capable but she still relied on the help of other to achieve her plans. Calling Ning Er Mary Sue is just degrading the author's work when the author was given us more than Mary Sue complex character.
This is literally the worst scriptwriting i've seen after a long time....I really can't understand what they even…
They change the airing time for tomorrow because it will collide with Hi6 airing time which is also a Mango produced variety show plus tomorrow epi is the confession scene=kiss hence 1314
All the actresses you mentioned are now a little too old to be playing an 18.y.o character. Much less believable…
Well too bad we can't reverse time and novel was only written in 2019 and as I say currently she is the perfect actress for the role. Zhou Ye is ok but she doesn't have that beauty for me to believe that all men around her falls for her. She is still just now trying to prove herself to carry a drama. SOT was actually filmed after SOKP and it is a copycat of SOKP. Glad she is getting more recognititon after SOT. Wang Churan though pretty still lack acting naunce. Song Zuer beauty look too foreign to be an Empress the same way I feel about Dilraba playing historical character. Song Zuer is also on the chopping block for tax fraud/evasion. If she has taken the drama it might not even see the light of the day just as Beauty of Prisoner. As for BL enounciation, there is room to improve but glad that she using her voice and hope that she can learn along her career. No one is perfect in everything.
It's OK/passable for a dialogue-heavy rebirth trope drama (i ♥️ this genre and watch much of it lol) that…
All the actresses you mentioned are now a little too old to be playing an 18.y.o character. Much less believable and would definitely suspend my belief. Not trying to age shame them but there is a limit on how much youth you want reverse while still being believable. They has passed that prime time that is why those actresses avoid playing these young character because they are aware they will receive backlash for playing such character. Plus the role of Ning Er is not suppose to feel too "queeny" as she is just a girl raised from the countryside. She never learn proper etiquette until she schemed her way to become the princess study buddy. Even during her time in the palace as Empress, Ning Er was still criticized for being crude and rough. Bai Lu is currently the perfect actress among her peer to portray Ning Er and she has properly portrayed her character.
Does Xie Wei know martial arts in the novel? How skilled is he compared to Yan Lin? Does Zhang Zhe know any martial…
from the drama portrayal so far, it is hinted that he does know kungfu. His reflexes are good during attempt attacks for someone that supposedly is just a frail scholar
What happened to the princess’ scar; it magically disappeared after serving its purpose in one episode lol
I thought I still saw it in some scene whenever there is a close-up shot of the princess you can still see it but from full shot you can't just like real scar plus her scar it small to begin with. Even in the first scene when the princess was introduced you can barely notice the scar until they do a close-up shot. It was just a complex for her until it wasn't anymore
by the lastest broadcast, you mean the live stream they did from last year?If so here is the link: https://youtu.be/Kn60rBYVPCQ?si=2doZn0Gr2xB3nyoI…
I believe that is how drama usually do their promotion to attract viewer to watch the drama, a strategy to rally viewers just before the drama airs. I remembered the live stream promotion for TTEOTM also started within the hour of the episode being aired. It's a common practices.

yep.. it is funny how Mango TV scheduled the OFL livestream at 7:30pm when SOKP is supposedly airing. Bai Lu is stuck being a rock and a hard place. Her fans is probably having the time of his/her life juggling so many thing at once. lol But I cant fault Mango, she probably has previous agreement to promote OFL before SOKP aired.
Even though there are a small/few minor inconsistencies overall it is still a cute drama, even with the slow moving…
I clarified this in the comment below: If you pay attention closely, the Royce Roller is separated into two compartments (the driver half and back passenger half) by a glass window with an outlined semi-circle hole to pass thing through the semi-circle with an intercom. What you are seeing is the outlined semi-circle not the actual steering wheel. If you check out episode 4 at 14:22-14:29 mark, you can see it more clearly. episode 4: https://youtu.be/N4JEuUheqU4?si=aKX_BeKKJRggZSif

If you check out episode 4 at 14:22-14:29 mark, you can see it more clearly. It is how the car is designed, not the fault of how it is being shot. episode 4: https://youtu.be/N4JEuUheqU4?si=aKX_BeKKJRggZSif
But yes it can cause some confusion if you view it from far away.
