sorry what how did vedish telling the guards that he'd expose them on social media work...? if theyre already…
I assume they couldnt risk Thadnathai's face being shown on social media as he is supposed to be dead ๐Ÿ˜… there was a risk he would lose his mask if a fight ensued. It also seems like they were outnumered, as i suspect most of the people filming were Vedish's men, not civilians. The King's men may have lost in case of an open fight, which, no matter how you look at it, would be bad PR for the King. Even if you can spin a narrative about the King's men ensuing the Kingdom's security by arresting a dangerous criminal, how do you explain them losing against unknown assaillants and letting said dangerous man go? Seems a bit difficult ๐Ÿ˜…
Thats the explaination i came to but on the spot i definitely felt bewildered when this scene played out ๐Ÿ˜…

Thoughts on ep 9:

I actually liked this episode! I loved that we focused more on the politics, I LOVED seeing Khanin involve himself for real into the mine matter, seeing him search for information for himself instead of stopping at the lies most people are feeding him, asking the right people for the right things (information, authorization to take control of the operations at the mine etc) and trying to really do everything he can do at his level to usher change.

To the King: RESPECTFULLY, Khanin doesn't owe you any trust nor any respect, provided you exiled him for most of his life and only care about him a means to win your fencing competition.

Jay and Calvin, please, be the grounded couple I need in this series ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™ I need realistic dialogues and a bit of depth.

The rescue at the end LMAOOO ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Would have thought the Kings' guards would be a bit skilled but they just stood there ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ๐Ÿ‘„๐Ÿ‘๏ธ and let Vetish strip them of their gun like bewildered children ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thoughts on ep 9:

I do not know what to think of Prince Wasin. It seems almost impossible to me he did not know how Khanin going to the protest would end, or that the Atsawathewathin are currently accused of taking lives in their mines. The fact that he let Khanin go makes me suspect he WANTED Khanin to run into trouble. And yet it's clear that Khanin running into troubles can have a huge negative impact on him (as it risks the funding the King grants him). So I'm not sure if he did it on purpose or if he's truly as innocent as he pretends to be.

I also don't know what to think about Charan. He knows the palace politics as he's been raised by the King and done missions for him, and it shows when he says things like: "everyone is out for themselves. Do not trust anyone", "the ones with power win", "no secret can be kept from the King". And yet at other times, he lets Khanin run blindly into situations that are obviously dangerous: the protests, the outing with Ramil, the traning with the spy coach, the outing in the club with zero guards etc. When Khanin asked him if someone had died in the mines because of the Atsawathewathin, he basically confirmed he knew by refusing to answer. So WHY did he let Khanin go in blind to that protest knowing there was bad blood with Atsawathewathin? If Khanin insisted, why did he not give him heads up beforehand? I just don't understand it

I loved this ep for Khanin by the way, his reaction to discovering how deep the palace politics run and the corruption within the Kingdom was very relatable and very well conveyed by NuNew.

Prince Wasin let Khanin take part in the protest?? I need someone to explain to me how this monarchy works because…

Prince Wasin let Khanin take part in the protest?? I need someone to explain to me how this monarchy works because i was dead sure he'd need the King's permission to take a political stance on an issue. As an heir doesn't Khanin represent the monarchy? And is that political protest not partly criticizing the inertia of the Kingdom regarding the air pollution? I'm thrown

Me learning Prince Wasin has a child: Just how many heirs died (or supposedly died) in this monarchy?? ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I just binged all the released episodes and I'm kinda scared to talk, but I'm gonna do it so help me god: i think…
I feel you! You are not alone in this. I agree with all your points except the last one, because i think even stellar actors could not save this pretty bad script ๐Ÿ˜…

Reading the comments here makes me feel like Iโ€™m the odd one out. ๐Ÿคฃ Am I seriously the only one who doesnโ€™t…
I think the key is coming in with low expectations ๐Ÿ˜‰

But i understand the people who came in with high expectations. This show was in the making for years and the show actually takes ITSELF seriously, in my opinion. Just looking at the money spent on the lavish sets and designs

Imagine this: you're window-shopping desserts like it's your life's mission. You lock eyes with the prettiest…
It's a pretty telling image๐Ÿ‘

This was the best episode so far! and Iโ€™m not saying that because of the NC scene (I honestly donโ€™t care much…
Agree with all your points, this episode was the best yet, for all the reasons you mentioned. I'm so glad to see it!

Okaaay I'm 25 min into ep 7 and I actually like where we're going this time! Khanin acts less pouty and more responsible, there's no irrelevant event or filler, and someone FINALLY starts to explain Khanin the rules (thank you Chakri, thank you biological dad - though i'm still not sure how bio dad acts with such familiarity to Khanin, as if there hasn't been a 20 years gap in their relationship). Acting is great, and Chakri is still the best human being on earth โค๏ธ

I don't think Khanin's forgotten his purpose but he knows that Charan is investigating. He isn't in a position…
I totally agree with you! I would also do all those things if i was thrown into a country i know nothing about as a freaking heir to the Crown, as a surprise competitor to families who have been vying for the throne for years (and might come for my neck), and as the victim of an Emmalian attack which killed my father and was probably targeting me in the first place. I don't know how Khanin has the time to go looking for pearls or to be out clubbing with zero security detail ๐Ÿ˜…

Also, why is Charan drinking on the job??
Okay clearly rain is more of a problem than alcohol ๐Ÿ˜†
