chanyoung getting dragged to filth we love to see it
He pissed me off so bad lol. They could've resolved their conflict by themselves, but he just had to insert himself in someone else's problems when NO ONE asked him to. I wonder if it's a deliberate decision to make him soooo unlikeable, but insert him in so many scenes, so people would develop an early dislike for him.
Is it just me, or Ho Sik and the tsundere girl (forgot if they even mentioned her name 🥀) are very cute? If we had to have a second pair, i would've preferred them. At least not the annoying mf Chan Yeong.
Either way, "potential confession in episode 7", my delusional ass. It was cute nonetheless. It's nice to see Heesu finally making a move on someone who actually cares about him, his interests, and his worries. Can't understand though why can't Seung Won just say that he's not interested in Ji Yu at all, and never did? Plot device and all that stuff, sure, but at least on episode 7 we could've done that so we can move on, right? Here's hope that he's finally going to come clean tomorrow, but the hope is very slim. At this point all the "Seung Won is interested in Ji Yu" stuff is getting tiring, because untill it's resolved, their relationship is not moving anywhere.
An actually nicely done plot device are Heesu's sisters. Maybe they're not always giving good advice, but at least their situations help Heesu to make some moves, even if they're not always effective. But, i would say that it's thanks to them that he can move on, them and how open Seung Won is about his opinions and liking of Heesu.
Ji Yu kinda feels like a non character now, and her new persona is simply "Chan Yeong's girlfriend", which is sad. I actually liked her when she was by herself.
All in all, a nicely done episode, not only in terms of main's relationship, but resolving inner conflicts, too. Sometimes it feels like writers were fighting between each other lol....
Positives...check. Negatives, also check. Here you go, balanced episode review. Peace out.
Yeah, I have seen a few people (almost always the same ones i might add), being condescending to others, just…
I totally agree with you. I don't understand how can discussion about some show can influence your actions and words that badly. Personally, i try to be objective and keep things civil if someone doesn't try to insult me first, so seeing people throwing jabs and insults like nothing at each other was wild.
I thought this place was better than twitter, but honestly, twitter is handling this particular issue way better than here. Maybe because the majority agrees with each other.
Did y'all see that they added a warning to the comment section btw? Maybe, just maybe, throwing personalised insults to someone's thinking abilities or taste just because you disagree with peoples concerns over the show is a bad idea, since it was not obvious otherwise. Just saying.
I honestly don't understand people who gets THAT bothered by other people's opinions. Are you like 10? This is…
Honestly i think letterboxed is better in a way that people don't actually engage with each other, and you can say whatever tf you like, and no one would care. On here, it's all very personal. If i wanted to hear people invalidating my concerns, i would call my parents lol.
lol at the sudden influx of huge text walls on this page, all of them mostly saying the same thing 😂
The question is, why don't yall just block people, and keep complaining about complaining? Genuinely wondering. Cause you don't have to see it, like, at all. Thing slightly irritates you? Block. Life is easier that way.
I think most of the people here are not really used to hearing actual criticism instead of mindless bashing, so…
Welp, i personally never said that it was straight washed, but i did say that they've given way more attention to the second pair. And no matter what reason, it would've been okay ONLY if it was an original work, and not an adaptation. Being an adaptation makes it worse. You cannot criticise this show objectively without keeping in mind that it's an adaptation.
Some people say that we're blind, delusional, or both because we talk about CY and Ji Yu taking a lot of the screentime, but I've seen way more people complaining about it than not, both biased and unbiased, straight, queer. So who's in the right? Guess we can't tell until it's finished, but for most, it's already not looking good, for reasons discussed again and again on there. (Going to add one important detail that makes it all worse: The fact that they showed in the photo previews for episode 6 a bus scene where Heesu sleeps on Seungwons shoulders, and this scene straight up wasn't in the show. THAT is blatant bait)
Honestly, this is not the only problem that this show has, but that too had been discussed a billion times, but most people only focus on dislike of the straight pair. For valid reasons, though.
That's great that it's a slow burn, personally, i love slow burns. In literally any other story, which does not feel as draggy as this one, when potential confession, right after the main character realizes he has no chance with his crush, happens at episode 7 out of 10. 70% of the show. Man.
But, you see, I'm still not lowering the rating that i put at the beginning, or dropping the show. Because i want to see the whole picture, analyze it, and decide for myself, without being swayed by anyone else. And that's what everyone else should do too, i think.
I don’t know why people think we are not enjoying the show just cause we are giving our reviews…it’s not…
I think most of the people here are not really used to hearing actual criticism instead of mindless bashing, so every time someone tries to give their honest analysis or focus on both positives AND negatives, they think it's the same thing.
I went to an artsy college, college of design. And when we turned in our assignments, we were tasked to analyze each others works, and our own. What is good, what is not, what could be better. How can you do better if no one tells you which parts of your work are kinda weak? Why would you not be truthful about your review? To me, negative reviews are just as important as positive ones. But in the end, each person is different, so something that you liked is gonna be disliked by someone else.
And that's why we need ALL kinds of reviews, not just praises.
I really wanted to watch it because people were praising it for portraying platonic friendship between ML and FL, but now i see people talking about romance. Is it between them, and if so, is it prominent? I was hoping for a drama that finally shows friendship between a man and a woman....
Does anyone know how is the show doing in Korea? Besides LITBC, this is the first korean BL to have such long…
I'd say it's not very popular. I follow quite a few korean drama fans on twitter, most of them being queer girls like me or BL watchers. And I'd say that they are not even interested in it, because they did talk about Secret Relationship, Friendly Rivalry, but not this, and right now they discuss upcoming non romance shows like weak hero class....But yet again, maybe I'm just not making friends with target audience of the shows like this one lol.
After reading the comments, i'm glad i didn't start watching this lolDefinitely removing from my watchlist.
I mean, it depends. The main character and his future love interest are entertaining and cool, the girl from the second pair is okay, but no one can stand the guy for a good reason. Every episode or scene that focuses on Heesu or Seungwon is VERY good, but episodes that shift focus onto the second pair are kinda bland. The pacing sometimes is too slow or too fast, and some plot things don't make sense.
If you can stand it sometimes being kinda boring and focusing on anything BUT the main character - sure, watch it. But as of now, the show is just...okay. It's okay.
The only prominent thought that I have so far is this: I'm glad I didn't have high hopes after last episode. We…
"Good thing i didn't get my hopes up" yeah, my thoughts exactly. I already said it once, but a lot of people are disappointed because they keep hoping for the best, and in this show....it seems like the best is preparing yourself for disappointment.
Not saying that people are not right in their criticism, but if you already desensitized yourself to the second couple, you can tell that the story overall is kinda lacking. It's lacking as a queer coming of age story in terms of barely focusing on Heesu' inner turmoil, it's lacking as a pure bl we all know why, and it's lacking as a purely regular romance story because let's be honest, Chan Yeong is a very bland ML. It fails to gracefully insert background characters in it without feeling like they just took quite a chunk of the screentime. Pacing is all over the place, sometimes plot points feel too short or too long, sometimes unnecessary.
The good things about it is acting, visual, music, and Heesu's personal journey with inserts of Seungwons troubles. But both of those felt like they got little attention, with the way show focuses on anything but them. And that what's making it feel like Seungwon might just become a rebound...cause the show has clear favouritism for Chan Yeong for some reason, while failing to make him a compelling character.
it’s very easy to tell that this comment section is a bunch of fujoshis who don’t watch anything else 💀…
I've seen more queer people complaining than straight people, but go off i guess. And the rest of your comment doesn't even make sense, because it shows that you didn't even read comments talking about actual substantial criticism.
And to clarify on the first part: Term fujoshi is used as an insult, meaning being "rotten woman", so i see you used it here just as it was intended. Which would mean that it was a jab (kinda misogynistic, i might add) towards women, more often than not straight women who "obsess over men's relationship". But, the people i see complaining? Are either not women, or not straight women, who want honest to god good REPRESENTATION of queer people. So this "clever" comment completely misses the target.
the world is so messed up because in ep 6 all I could think of is Ji Yu going on a sleepover trip with three guys…
I know, right? Into the WOODS. I know they're her friends, but statistically speaking, more often than not people closest to you are the ones who can be the most dangerous.
