Someone please clear my doubt, San Young's father was dead by committing suicide very long ago because of ghost,…
He did not die long ago. He died at the beginning of first episode which then let to the entire unfolding of the story. So in the story timeline he died after the phishing incident so he was still alive in the first episode and his suicide caused him to pass on the ghost to her
Apart from anything else, this drama opened my eyes to the fact that attitudes towards stepchildren and blended…
Yea… in South Asia for example a man can have three ex wives and 30 stepchildren and still he will be a catch but a woman is considered damaged goods even if she had one broken engagement. Which I why I found this drama refreshing because the stigma of past relationships appeared to have similar connotations and consequences for both the genders. And how meaningfully the couple handle it.
Great article! I am with Anquat when they talk about One Spring Night in comparison to Something In The Rain.…
I am the exact opposite. I repeat watch one spring night every time I am sad or feel like having chicken (too many good scenes of them eating fried chicken). It has an old world vibe of silver era Hollywood movies. I struggled to watch SITR even once. The pairing too with Han Ji Min I liked so much more.
Can some people here with rationale mind and an Instagram account pls write some good comments on anupam tripathi…
Oh gosh. There is hidden racism too. Since Indians are treated poorly by many in Middle East. Mostly because they go there a migrant workers. Remember the Qatar World Cup. This is really bad this is happening to him.
I am seeing all the comments regarding episode 7 and the Arab Prince. As a white westerner, can someone educate…
It’s offensive to south Asians too which is what the character playing the Arab person is. The reason is south Asians because they belong to poorer nations and are darker skinned than East Asians face extreme and overt racism in most East Asian countries. And there is a stereotype that they are only poor migrants who do manual labour that lighter skinned East asians don’t want to do and can never be rich. Example are 1) in Malaysian and Singapore they are called Keling as in dark skinned monkey people 2) Hong Kong during covid did not bother to bring back citizens with south descent 3) being called names usually due to dark skin in most of Thailand, Korea, Japan, Etc etc 4) Samsung Bangalore office used to have separate toilets for Korean and Indian. I am a South asian living in East Asia and I see my fellow south Asians treated terribly. I get a pass from this treatment since I am very fair skinned. And this somehow makes the hypocrisy even worse. If they wanted to show a rich south Asians they should have. South Asians can be rich too.
The Arab prince did not look Arab at all. He looked South Asian. Plus why do they represent them this way. It’s so rude and stereotypical. They could have very well shown a rich South Asian guy. We south Asians are not all poor migrants. Some of us can be rich too. I hate this stereotype East Asians have of us. I stay in East Asia and have been legit told lots of s@it about South Asia on my face. Another note, why are people having a problem with the sis looking older. People are so weird. They can’t stand seeing any woman who looks older on screen other than playing a stereotypical mom or evil stepmom. It quite common for super rich men to have multiple wives and offsprings. I mean Donald Trump is an example. Among siblings too age difference is possible if say the mother had the first kid when she was 20 and the second kid when she was 45. I legit know friends like that with lot of age gap between siblings. I mean that’s the whole point no, since they are so much apart in ages they don’t have a common ground other than mutual animosity. PS: I am still loving this drama despite some misgivings. It’s fun super fun.
This drama is so cliche, so cheesy and so predictable. The chemistry is also average. But then why is this drama so good. I think it’s because 1) the male lead though rich and powerful is not a typical misogynistic and evil capitalism kind of a person (like the male lead in secretary Kim was). He is nice and respectful of other people 2) the female lead is shown to be quite talented 3) her friends are adorable The drama is so happy (at least until now) and it knows that its job is to entertain people which it is doing. I am loving it.
Which is what I was talking about ajussji type leads. All of these are decades older than her. I will check out link love. Thank you for your recommendation 👍😊
14 episodes? MDL now says it’s 12! Omg 😱 I thought it was almost over. I’m not sure I can handle another…
Same same same. Someone here wrote a review which convinced me to watch this train wreck and now I cannot look back. It’s like eating high sugary snacks which you know is bad but you keep eating nonetheless. I am loving it.
She is so beautiful but meh on her leading men. Most of them are very ajusshi type barring Cha Eun Woo. But high school romance is not my thing, so did not enjoy true beauty. She is also very talented, has great screen presence and very lively off camera. Waikiki was amazing I really enjoyed it.
It’s more like Soft Sci Fi… I mean that’s what it seems. Not hard sci fi like interstellar travel etc but more around a futuristic scenario… that’s what t seems like from the synopsis at least. I could be wrong.
I am an Indian and trust me Dan Albert is right. We have ageing Bollywood heroes at 60 even romancing women who are 25 but women cannot age. They at 45 play mothers of male leads who are 60. It’s a very gender biased society. There is a Hindi saying “mard to sath mein bhi path hota hai”. Meaning a man is virile and manly even at 60 but a woman ages the moment she is above 28. So as an Indian I can attest this is not a stereotype rooted in fallacy.
