Same here,,, the serial I suggested is actually an older one. It’s not Hindi but Marathi. Having said that, let me know if ever you find a drama where the girl likes the guy first. Even I want to know

Oh one drama I remember now. If you understand Marathi then it’s Radha Hi Bawri. She likes him a lot and he wants her as his Vahini. But then he does end up liking her. This is a good drama (ignore the usual Indian dramatics) since it touches upon childhood trauma and childhood neglect and how children feel in broken families. It also shows how family members can manipulate people. It’s a hidden gem unlike usual craptastic Indian shows and it’s not endless either.

I also want a noona drama where the older woman likes male lead first. It’s getting tiring watching men chase after women so much and so hard. I want an honest drama where the male lead is also not interested in dating older women (in line with how society is) but somehow ends up liking her. She likes him first. The only one I can think of is the Pakistani drama Dobrara. But the age difference is too large for me (she is 15 plus years older, and I prefer 7 to 10 years and it did look too obvious in some scenes).
I was in an emotional slump and I started binge watching this drama. It’s healing. I cannot explain why. This drama is very simple, many iterations have been done before. But still it’s simple and sweet. I don’t get why people want awesome stuff all the time. Sometimes home cooked meal is so much better than dining at Michelin Star restaurants. This is a solid 9 from me.
For those who disagree with her rejection. I must say that I totally agree with her... Not because of the age…
Actually she is the vulnerable one especially since she was expelled before. So her reputation which she built for so many years would be tattered. People always blame women in more conservative cultures in Middle East, South Asia and East Asia, so her attitude is reflective of her surroundings and circumstances. And I totally agree with her. I like this drama for the tennis so I am happy even if the romance does not happen at all.
Lu Wei has worked so hard for this role and you can see he trained hard. Some scenes are physically gruelling. The other characters have also put in a lot of effort. The female lead and how her life has been so rocky, she did an admirable job bringing out the character. A lovely drama.
The best part they hardly shared much screen time, so this probably would not interfere with the drama narrative in any way. I always find if the OTP gets married to be too boring. This is cute…
They can do the souls (different actresses) in different time period Or none at all
Yeah which is why I prefer western fantasies … but to each their own choice. I don’t understand this especially when all Asian cultures practiced polygamy in the past. So the idea having only one love in an immortal life is too banal. But then I understand what people like so it’s fine 😊

Maybe I am projecting since I did not like Jo Bo Ah as his love interest. And I like this actress since she was so awesome in penthouse. But the honest truth is logically an immortal is expected to have multiple love interests. Their lives are supposed to be larger than life literally and not follow human conventions. Otherwise how are they immortals. It make for so much more interesting content when that happens. For example the discovery of witches book, the lead hero who is a vampire has another child in another life and this with time travel made for very interesting plots for the heroine and the hero.
I have to be honest, I am not a big fan of Jun Ji Hyun. I don't even know why. Don't brick me, please :D I watched…
Same here. I don’t like her and her voice is too nasally to me. I don’t think she acts she is just her same self in all dramas. Having said that she is the real deal, the real star. She is the original star and she is what started this whole Korean Wave in 2013. I remember moving to an Asia Pacific country in 2014 and she was literally everywhere. Her popularity was unmatched. So I realise I am a very small minority of people.
POV: me sitting here confused reading that people call SHK a bad actor.
Same here… I still like her best in that winter that wind blows. I wish she did more dramas back then. She started doing more work after descendants in dramaland. Glory ranks second after that drama.
I hope there is no romance in this… I like horror or dark thrillers to have no romance. Example village secret of achiara. Will only watch if there is no romance. The Annabelle universe or the ring series… I hope they go really dark, and there is not romance. But it’s on national television so I assuming it won’t go so dark.
Loved this drama, I was very badly bullied in middle school and my homeroom teacher (just like in this drama weirdly…
Same here… it’s sad to see all of them doing so well… most of the girls I knew are now moms and have adopted a holier than thou attitude and talking about the ills of bullying imagine. Sometimes there IS NO JUSTICE in life… this drama was catharsis for me…
why is everyone so pissed at romantic angle lol. its not like it overshadowed the main plot or anything.why can't…
People fail to see how devastating that would have been for the poor child to have a step mother who essentially took revenge against her own mom. Not ending with the CEO meant that the cycle of violence stops. This was a smart move by the author. Also the doctor had to be young and idealist, since clearly he was going through existential despair and wanted to lean on to someone strong, whilst providing support himself. Imagine if we got a 40 year old dude to play the role. That would not have been the right fit, since only the young bring about that desperate longing and desire for love. People after 35 are almost always jaded. So it fits so well with the authors vision. As far as I know, top authors like Kim Eun Soo, in Korea draw a character sketch and the casting is accordingly chosen.
Wi ja hoon would have been great. Especially in a Count of Monte Cristo setting. I don’t understand why he does…
Do you know anyone who has done a good Heathcliff, the smouldering jealous possessive but hot guy. I have been looking for someone to have done a good Othello or a good heathcliff and I find everyone wanting,,,

The book is a classic and my all time favourite along with Wuthering Heights and Far From the madding crowd. I love dark stories. But this version is closest to how I imagined the Comte to be like.
