I hate people saying "bUt ThE rOmAnCe WaS uNnEcEsSaRy" for these dramas. Like wtf you want, the main lead to rot…
I totally agree. Seeing the comments here it seems people would have loved to see her rot in hell as you said it. Unless she was the it girl of the seasons like zhao lu si then these guys would have been ok with the romance.
Funny how some people are saying the chemistry between the main leads was amazing and palatable while others -…
People who said it was terrible have a fundamental bias against seeing younger men with older women. Because in almost 90 percent of these comments it’s followed by them saying that the age difference was a lot. It’s societal norms and people are very rigid and gender biased when it comes to heteronormative relationships.
I wont give this higher than an 8 because I feel like they could have done without the romance. Otherwise, everything…
Why though? After so much unhappiness in her life why is a little happiness bad ? Are victims not worthy of love. Be it acid attack victims, rape victims or burn victims or widows? Just because they don’t fit with society ideal of being young and beautiful and unspoiled?
I loved that movie too. I think a good revenge story involves a lot of behind the scenes machinations and pre…
Glad you also liked that monte cristo movie. The scene in which he arrives in a baloon was superb. For glory I also like how she was like a master pulling the marionettes string. Very cool.
It’s a Hindu / Buddhist symbol. It kinds of irritates to be associated with nazis. This symbol has been around for thousands of years. You can Google swastika. No Hindu house is complete without this symbol. When you enter a more traditional Hindu house, the courtyard will almost always have a flowerpot with tulsi plant and the pot itself will have swastika in red font. And this is a thousands of years practice. Please don’t conflate it with western racist butchers.
Loved it loved it loved it. My favourite revenge book/ movie till now has been Count of Monte Cristo, where he plotted revenge for 20 years in the jail. An English movie with Henry Cavill as Monte Cristos son was masterfully done. This drama now comes close second for me. Truly a literary, direction and acting masterpiece. What’s better was how the author chose to cast less well known actors. So not only this drama as great in highlighting social issues, but also in uplifting careers of well deserved actors such as Jung Sung Il. I wish all Korean dramas were like this. A lot of people are loving Song Hye Kyo in this (I liked her too). But to me the true heroine was our badass white haired Author Kim Eun Sook. she wrote something straight from her heart. Wonderful.
Yes in Bollywood all the heroines are mid twenties and all heroes are mid sixties and no one has a problem. A couple of years ago a movie came out called Ki and Ka where the heroine was just two years older and people went berserk.
Those people are mostly teenage girls who hate older women. You can see it all over TikTok and Instagram about how girls hate older women. They bitch and verbally abuse their moms, their mother in laws, their teachers. The only person they seem to care about is that super old defenceless 100 year old grandma in the nursing home. I really wish to understand this evil psychology that young women have. The reason I am saying I want to understand is because when I was in my teens (I am in my mid to late thirties now) I too hated older women with a vengeance. What drives this I don’t know but this is a trend as old as time where young women absolutely hate older women. Thankfully this hatred gradually subsides by the time you are in your late twenties. Is it internalised misogyny who knows… 🤷♀️
I honestly dont mind age gap in dramas, but I cant erase in my mind that Lee Doo Hyun was a highschooler in 18…
I am not triggered. Why would I be. I am just saying that stereotype is a problem with media industry which limits an actors role. That’s why they do things to appear older. For example in clean with passion for now, Kim Yoo Jung had kissing scenes which she did to break away from her girl next door image. You will see it often with male and female actors who are first cast as teenagers since adult roles are where money is at. That’s why they try to break away from such roles. Daniel Radcliffe has said many times that being typecast as Harry Potter limited his future roles. I also remember Daniel Radcliffe came in a play called Equus which had very explicit scenes because he wanted to break away from the teen image. Unfortunately he has not been very successful. I was just talking about trends I have seen with actors.

Actors after choosing to play high schoolers purposely chose roles where they are adults and with older actresses. It expands their range and stops them for being stereotyped as playing only the teenager till they are too old and they phase out. One example is Darren Barnet from “never have I ever”. He is 30 now but has played a teenager so long that he gets no other role. Noah Centineo was smart and he cast himself against an older actress in the “Recruit” so that no one mistakes him for being a high schooler anymore. Lee Do Hyun is also a very smart and intelligent actor who knows to have longevity in acting he needs to play older roles.
People who were rooting for ha do young as a male lead, let's be honest: Ha Doyoung can never EVER even be half…
Yes because all that you said, Ha Do Young needs to do for the child that’s his. He needs to kill for her (which he did), heal her mother wound, and live for her. Raise her. Such a parent can never afford to be in an intense all consuming relationship. That would be irresponsible. So I laud the author for going where she did.
I think it’s the worst since she will live for a long time to suffer. Others will pass sooner. So it’s literally…
And I can tell you based on what I have seen. People who suffer mentally don’t want to live long because each and every moment is awful for them. And she would be unable to do anything drastic to herself either. If she attempts to commit sui@$e even then the jail authorities will stop her. So she is well and truly checkmated. She has no option but to suffer for decades in teh jail losing her looks her health everything
For glory I also like how she was like a master pulling the marionettes string. Very cool.
