I am glad the focus is now on split episodes rather than hate vitriol against song hye Kyo. I was just watching an article about Sulli and thought that the comments SHK receives is much worse. Hope she is holding up well. Even in MDL the comments have been nasty. Nonetheless, I really liked her in That Winter the Wind Blows and hope this is a drama where she is spared from the nasty people. Healthy critiscim is good but what happens is very bad personal attacks so hope it’s not so much. The premise sounds promising and two seasons may allow them to course correct too so that’s not bad.
Yeah I also like xukai and Sandrine Pina chemistry in once upon a time in lingjian mountain. It was more like…
Yeah but that’s chemistry for you. If there was none then the pranks would fall flat. Anyways it my favourite romance trope pranksters to lovers or enemies to lovers. So I loved it. This one SAPH they looked like roommates or grandparents sittting together.

Yes there was a disciple teacher relationship but you could see the Romantic tension from the very first scene when she meets him as a river fairy. He was always standing close to her, playing with her or teasing her. Just like how schoolboys pull the ponytails of their crushes. The dance at the village, the final kiss were very romantic. His eyes portrayed that love. And she also never let him down either. One of the most beautiful portrayals of love in Chinese dramas despite not showing intimacy or having much scenes. Lingjian Drama was my first Chinese dramas and which is why I started watching Chinese dramas. This drama has a special place for me.
Since Xu Kai had great chemistry with Sandrine Pinna (they both were super hilarious) I thought this would be a great drama too, since he is able to act well with women older, younger (Cheng Xiao) and his age. But in this one the chemistry just fizzled out by the end. Well it is what it is. Some of the most anticipated dramas this years were duds. And some of my least anticipated dramas (surprisingly western ones) were amazing such as Wednesday Addams, Stranger things.
I don’t think people are necessarily worried about the scenes. What people are talking about 1) the story arcs…
I saw that interview too, but I thought it was more to salvage the criticism since let’s not forget douban Chinese viewers also had the same complaint so within China too there may be a dress code. Some professions since they are in business of helping people in distress (lawyers, doctors, military, Teachers) are held to a higher standard and decorum. Lawyers in china wear a black code with a red necktie I just checked. Dressing fancy and elegant is very different from dressing flashy and avant garde.
I wonder why many comments here are so focused on how many scenes between FL and ML that it makes you all disappointed,…
I don’t think people are necessarily worried about the scenes. What people are talking about 1) the story arcs do not make sense. And characters behave contrary to their character sketch. It’s almost like the author created conflict while ditching the essence of the characters 2) very unlikable and unreddemable characters such as the childish girlfriend and the horrible sleazy brother and too much screen time spent on them 3) showing questionable ethics. Lying about a job is fine but lying about having a child would be too much for many people. People are sensitive about these issues 4) too much money spent on the wardrobe and it’s too glamorous. I have worked as a consultant and have worked with lawyers. They have strict dress codes. Lawyers in india if they visit the court are only allowed to wear a black and white dress, it’s even more particular in the UK. In apac where I stay the lawyers wear sober and expensive dress. Not ultra glamorous flamboyant dresses more suited to marketing/ hospitality/ event management/ entertainment industry 5) given the fact that they were family lawyers no one had a single court visit or even discussed law or law parlance too much. It’s almost like both the author and the director did not bother doing any research
I agree best chemistry for Xu Kai. I liked the weird comic vibe in Lingjian Moutian with both Sandrine Pinna and…
Extraordinary woo I watched and Loved. Thank you for your suggestions 😊. I do triage watching so dramas don’t seem samey. First watch western (mostly Scandinavian crime), then Pakistani (I love them) and then Chinese/ Korean and repeat the process. My next likely will be Wednesday, Netflix and after that Habs a Pakistani drama 😊👍.

Yes Wednesday is another totally love the gothic vibe. I usually just watch one drama at a time and rewatch it several times. Last one was Scandinavian crime Deadwind and now is this drama. Next is Wednesday. I think that would be cool

Did not like the girl in falling into you. Totally due to my preferences since I thought she was good objectively. My aesthetic for young girls is slightly edgy like Han So Hee or the girl in Queen Gambit or Sadie Sink in stranger things.
i doubt they dated for 7 years without having sex tho.
I would doubt it because In earlier episodes when the earlier boyfriend was having a flashback they were shown quite affectionate to each other. Maybe he is lying. She is not shown to be uptight at all. And honestly why would anyone want to marry someone they have been dating for 7 years who withheld sex like that since she did not want to marry. She is not shown to be either religious or ACE so it’s doubtful. No person will stick around for 7 years unless they are super religious or ACE with a person who is like that.
