I don’t know but what I encountered (pun intended) when the encounter drama was airing, very public shaming of SHK and lots of comments made about her. I did not research any more.
I have encountered lots of humiliating articles about the ongoing divorce of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (She has been blaming him left, right and centre and very publicly airing all of their private life in public) and I was drawing parallels (SHK and SJK divorce was more subtle though not as acrimonious as Brangelina).

This this this… 👍 he has been so so so mean to her people don’t realise that. I don’t have a problem with divorce it’s a personal issue. But shaming someone is not cool. It’s not a gender issue. For example I do think Angelina Jolie is making Brad Pitt go through pits of hell. Some celebs are like that, so much of adulation especially if they are great at their craft and very charismatic (both Him and Jolie are), it makes them narcissistic. They get very very very vengeful. At the receiving end the person then goes through a very public humiliation.
Again what I wrote is just my perception.

The reason why people are bothered is not whether what you said is true or not. It is true. They do look older.
However it’s also not ok to do so. Just like we don’t comment or discriminate on religion, whether an actor is too fat or too dark. Commenting on age is bad because older people exist and their stories and their lives need to be shown and told. Of course if you don’t like it you need not watch.

I was watching this drama since I love maths. And I got annoyed with this drama. 1) why a student teacher thing… they could have shown a university corruption, he as a teaching assistant and she as a professor and this would have still worked. University trust funds are huge and a lot of corruption happens. Its ethically wrong to suggest a student teacher romance.
2) the female lead was very very very “foolish” she kept picking on the super powerful boss kept saying things to her and also kept hanging out with the student even when she knew rumours were floating around. I mean why? Did she know so less about power dynamics and hierarchies… that’s unbelievable. I hate when writers give us too stupid to exist characters.
The reasons why I am watching this drama is because of the maths and mentions of Ramanujam. As an Indian I am partial to both maths and Indians maths geniuses. Also there are snippets inside the drama where they show very interesting character dynamics. The melancholia painting that they mentioned, I liked it so much that I went and bought an art book about that painting. So really really cool info.

One of my friends was studying medicine. He said for certain branches especially orthopaedic a lot of maths and physics is required especially for concepts such as force and torsion so they actually use calculus. For clinical trials and Pharma statistical concepts are used such as sampling, hypothesis testing, forecasting etc. So there definitely is heavy maths for some medical fields (of course not all of them).

I am in a minority here but I want more maths and more murder mystery. Please give us good maths… I loved the concept of the Melancholia painting (Durer 1514) shown in the Melancholia drama and I hope this one also introduces us to cool concepts. I like my romance chocolate drama dark not milk. 🤷‍♀️

For everyone hating on Netflix, clearly this ploy is working for them. Wall Street performance of Netflix has been the best since 2022. So unfortunately even if we hate this, we will see more of this type of drama splitting in the future. And no people are not going anywhere since The Economist and other newspapers have reported that Netflix is the choice for most millennials and Gen Z and conversely other platforms such as Disney are not doing well. All of this means that sadly Netflix will do as they please as long as they see the numbers 😔

Look a Hoffstede culture index, that would be more accurate. The power distance parameter is pretty high. And hence you see dramas where the weak are crushed as ants. I mean North Korea is after all Koreans ethnicity too. So of course being fierce and the hunger for power must be there. There are also documented evidence on how poorly they treat browner asians in their country. Anyone not pretty enough, thin enough, rich enough or white (pale skin) enough can get bullied.

I hope this is not a fluffy romance buts it gets dark. Kim Yoo Jung does not hesitate to step out of her comfort zone and in none of her roles she has been a silly princess girl. I so wish she is shown strong and sexy a bit like Veronica Park. Song Kang I hope also does a darker role since that suits him better. I hope this turns out good,

Interests become stronger as you get older especially for women since once children grow up and stop being so needy women get a new lease on life. Its actually young moms of young children who have no time or interest otherwise women of all ages do want someone they can share their life with.

Yes and funny part is most of the comments are from women. Everyone is going to get older even most of the girls who are in their twenties will be in their eighties some day (hopefully that is). This bias is illogical no, “I should not be biased against something which I will be someday”.

Shorting was a big part of the Asian financial crisis also. If you remember 2521 the drama. Hedge fund guy George Soros was said to be responsible for massive short selling of Asian currencies tanking the economies overnight in late 90s.

The stories were heartfelt but felt a bit disjointed. So I dropped this drama. But did not give a rating. I realised “it’s me not you”. Technically it’s a well made drama with beautiful characters which I could not enjoy. But I can understand and appreciate why it’s rated high.

I wish this is like Tom cruise, mission impossible series with a different love interest. It’s a bit experimental within k dramas I would like to see him with new lady.

Has anyone read lord of flies, it was written in 1950s and kids can be very evil. In my school too, I used to see special kids getting bullied by mean girls and it used to be done so cunningly that the Teachers and the parents could not even realise this was happening. For these mean girls any girl if she was too dark, too fat or was spastic or too poor, or anything else would be bullied. It was relentless. So yes I am glad that these dramas are written which may urge governments and school authorities to take steps.
