LDH and SHK has perfect chemistry so don't worry they will survive and they will marry! :)
I love them both in the drama. Usually I love noona romances too. But in this drama they should not marry. Too much emotional damage, trauma and wounds. They both need to do a lot of soul healing. Which is why for me the perfect ending would be to have her in a sunny peaceful place sipping Pinna coladas and smiling to herself after everything ends.
Why don’t do you understand that people have different opinions. To me my ajusshi was extremely problematic because you had a very young girl and an old man. But it’s my opinion and I did not go around saying why did people rate it high. Give more credit to people, they are not stupid. If they have rated 10, it means it was 10 for them. To you it’s 1 which is fine too.
i thought the bullying in this show was exaggerated for the sake of an intriguing story but after some research,…
Bullying was quite common and severe in Indian colleges too and it was called ragging. Freshers (first year) college goers were subject to intense bullying which went for months and many hundreds committed suicide. In the early 2000s the Indian government did a whole crackdown on it and it was made illegal. Now most reputed colleges have bully squads and if students are caught bullying they are rusticated (which means they cannot join college anywhere else so their career is over). Patrol groups monitor college corridors and it’s difficult to bully now.
Oh, wow! This was really good to know. I find noona romances not to be very different from other romance dramas…
Not really he LDH is problematic and written to be problematic. He has shown to have mental trauma. A red flag are issues that are not visible immediately and I am talking about that. Just because he the husband is a hot person people are ignoring that.

That opinion was inspired by an Indian movie called Omkara which was an othello retelling. The main hero was really hot and smouldering and I still remember how magnetic his personality was in that movie. Hence got reminded by it. In the Shakespeare book also he is described as someone with very magnetic personality and appreciating fine things in life. So I am talking about that aspect. Of course not the whole “ I will murder everyone in my jealousy aspect “

He is a fine man but he has some red flags 1) failing to recognise how his wife was 2) his wife the villainess keeps saying how he likes his women young and thin and hot which is why she went under the knife to keep slim 3) a man who spends zero time with his daughter and does not even know she is colour blind 4) his exchange with his chauffeur where he is very condescending and asks him to have expensive wine Based on the subtle hints and cues given by the author I feel he will switch over to the dark side against our heroine. Else how else will the revenge story last for another 8 episodes This man is a classic example of why women keep falling for manipulative, controlling, powerful hot men. I mean history is full of women falling for such men and then being subtly controlled. He gives me very strong othello vibes in case you have read Shakespeare
For everyone who is again harping about SHK being older than LDH. In Korean dramas, unlike bias everywhere else women are shown with younger men. I have been watching dramas since 2012 and it’s been there as a trend with many famous actresses. The geek in me decided to do research since I wanted to know why Korea is different where everywhere else women should be on the shelf at 35 and act like a grandma, which is when I saw multiple articles saying that in old Joseon society of korea (about 400 years ago), marriages were arranged in childhood by families and sometimes the girl was older than the boy. So it’s a cultural thing. And hence the popularity of noona romances in Korea since the 90s since it’s more accepted and part of their tradition. This is similar to rajput weddings (Indian community) in the past where the marriages would be arranged before the kids were born Sometimes leading to instances where the girl was older. In fact a very famous movie Zubeida touches upon this fact, where the rajput queen (first wife) is shown to be much older than her husband.
Absolutely not. Her ex Song Jong Ki appears to be very vindictive and a lot of smear campaign done against her.…
Just my intuition. It’s most likely baseless, but a lot of slander is always timed when she is about to air something especially during encounter drama and now we breaking up. Also I have seen vindictive divorced couples in real life where men do go all out. Anyways I never do rumour mongering personally, so I do sincerely apologise for my comments. But somehow I also don’t want to delete it. It is what it is.
HOPE Lee Do Hyung and Song Hye Kyo will be a COUPLE IN MORE DRAMAS! PLEASE!!! And if they are a couple in real…
Absolutely not. Her ex Song Jong Ki appears to be very vindictive and a lot of smear campaign done against her. She needs to find someone (if she wants to) who is not of this toxic media Korean industry which is full of bullies as evidenced by spate of suicides every year
I don’t have an issue with romance. It’s the way it was written, I don’t like. But since it’s already there…
The romance should not be written as a romance. It’s not a crash landing on you. It just have subtle hints that’s it. The fact that she has someone who liked her with her emotional and physical scars. That’s powerful healing. She has a lot of healing from trauma she needs to do. So she technically has no love to give, she can only receive. Imagine you have severe stomach cramps from periods and burn scars which are hurting and you have no access to meds since you stay alone. It’s so gut wrenching. She is only existing at the basest level. She does not even know how to smile anymore.
Isnt her only real friend the girl she met at the factory? All others are people she's using and/or hired to help…
Not really, there is a line in the drama “which is more powerful victims banding together or perpetrators getting together”. They are drawing comfort from each other. She is using them and may even sacrifice them for her end goal but there is a feeling of liking and solidarity too.
I really like the lady who is spying for her and Lee Do Hyun characters. Someone has to be on her side. And they both are in love with her, one like a sister and another unrequited. And I think it’s very important since she was so so so lonely all this while. I don’t know why people have a problem with the love line ? Is she a bear or a wolf that has to be bereft of human compassion or love ?
One of my best dramas. I always watch it when I am upset and life is giving me lemons. It’s very uplifting and shows that no matter what you can bounce back.
i hate the america-fication of korean dramas being split into seasons, the only reason i started watching kdramas…
If they aired two per week in any case the drama would have finished by end Feb not earlier. So it’s literally just a 2/3 weeks delay. Plus helps better resolution of story arcs
Well said! I recently watched never have i ever but then i was shocked after hearing his age. Both leads have…
Yes and I love her. Maitreyee. Her love interest is this Part Japanese guy who is a great actor (he is 31) and severely typecast to only play high school dudes. It’s very career limiting since I don’t seem him get any more roles. Even Ross Butler (he is 32 now) “thirteen reasons why” has a similar problem. Point is beyond 25 people age fast and before you blink you are 35. So it’s important to chose roles well and ensure that you are considered a “serious actor” not a “teenage cool dude”.

Yes I know about this and it is horrible this double standard. Especially since I am an insurance/ statistical analyst and can tell you than women out-survive men by at least 8 years globally which is why it makes sense to marry men of similar ages or a bit younger. But bias is bias. I am a millennial and find it surprising that so many GEN Z girls like old men (which is fine) and are vehemently opposed to older women.

It’s fine as long as both are above 25. I personally am ok with age gap of under 10 when woman is older and up to 15 when the guy is older. If they can be old enough to be your parent (15 and above) then it’s a bit off for me.
I have seen people talk about pairing with SHK and Lee Do Hyun, and I think it’s a conscious career decision by Lee Do Hyun. In Hollywood and Netflix, we have seen male actors pushing thirty Darren Barnet (Never have I ever), continue to play teenagers and then they get pushed out of the system. The competition for actors is very strong and good roles are limited. It’s hard to break through as an actor these days. They get typecast. Whilst Noah Centeneo, Timonthy Chalamet look to play older and younger characters both, since they know that it will help them when they are older. It’s important to the longevity of an male actors career that they move beyond playing young teen roles. I think Lee Do Hyun is really smart since he has been acting continuously whilst also honing his acting chops.
