How is this doing in China though haters notwithstanding
I don’t know why but I keep seeing park minyoung in yang mi and song kang in xukai :DI know they have done a…
I love your opinion since I thought the chemistry of FLAW was great but the writer was the villain of the story. I am still angry at the writer. They both had great natural chemistry, her second best since Ji Chang Wook I think.
Some haters are bringing the rating down due to the age difference. What a bunch of clowns. That review by a person…
She said that she was old enough to be her mom and I was like in what planets are 8 year old girls getting pregnant and having babies at 9. With that stupid logic people should be dead against older men since King Tutankhamen of ancient Egypt became a father at 10 years of age.
Hmm.. we don’t have to worry, it will go up again if the story is good
But it’s statistics right… if 100 people give one star then it will take about 100 people to give it 9 to bring the points by at least 10 decimal points (assuming that 400 people have rated in total until now). Hate rating can really tank a drama since the ratings push the scores massively down, so the ratings don’t get normalised unfortunately it’s maths. Which is why marketing companies always look at top box scores for product analysis since hate reviewers may unnecessarily drag a product down.
At this moment I feel like haters are rating 0 here😏! Why r u so jealous guys? U can drop the ratings but u…
Which is why the supporters also have to rate unfortunately. Which is unfair since it makes me feel like we are in an American reality show with toxic mean contestants
Save Lee do Hyun from noona dramas, it’s so painful to see 💔
Working with older cast help the leads hone their craft. Did you not see Dylan Wang, he has suddenly getting so many roles after he did the drama Rational Life and is one of the most sought after actors this year. It gives them visibility and work experience so don’t understand where “saving them” comes from. If you want to propel your career to become an a lister you need to act against an a lister and works for both genders which is why we usually see such a huge age difference in the ladies Nam Goong Min acts with and it’s such a great opportunity for these ladies.
Actually I dont interested in older woman genre but coz its yangmi I still watch it,and turn out I love the story..I…
In china and some other Asia pacific countries you can get full time nannies. Also grandparents raise kids a lot. Where I live, every morning after the mom goes to the office you can see the granny holding the baby, walking the baby. And Chinese adult kids reciprocate this by taking care of the same granny when she is very old herself. You walk into any hospital the old granny is always accompanied by her daughter or daughter in law. The society is still very filial.
There's definitely something about Hua's background, I thought he was being reserved because he doesn't really…
I get that on the spectrum vibe too not diagnosed autism but I have known extremely shy introvert people like that in real life. which is surprising since Xu Kai usually does such assertive roles so it’s a very different space for him and he is so amazing. When you see him it’s not the Xu Kai we have ever seen so far. I wish more people talked about how well he is acting.
does anyone know any upcoming Older Woman/Younger Man dramas beside this one? Have to make plans after this one…
Western or Eastern? Home for Christmas (Norwegian) is very sweet. Love and anarchy is crazy. There is Chinese, Rational Life. Korean I hear your voice, Hyena. Japanese I am taking the day off has a very adorable heroine. Also one upon a Lingjian Moutain (Xu Kai is ther) but watch it more for the Bromance and this drama can get very campy and does not take itself seriously. There are also a lot of meta references in the Lingjian Moutain.
Yang Hua’s mom…what the heck are you thinking, lady?? Wow, I don’t even know the right word to describe…
I stay in Asia pacific and am exposed to Chinese culture a lot, and I can say that it’s less patriarchal than South Asia, Middle East, Japan and Korea and more patriarchal than the west. Women enjoy a lot of freedom, can wear what they want and work and are in control of their lives. Professional spheres have a healthy representation of women (again I am comparing with more regressive Asian cultures but still some way to go in comparison to west).
I promise I was just about to ask for someone to explain to me the logic in not promoting or even hiring single…
Asian conservative public/ official spaces do not like single women unless they are young (less than 25). Women feel insecure about “husband stealing”. If you watch historical dramas from Turkey, Pakistan, India, China, Korea and Japan all the cultures were polygamous and until the 1940s at least. The trend was that a young wives become favourites and consequently the kids of the older wives would suffer badly. There is a very classic Indian Myth based on this concept “Dhruv and Narsimha”. So that feeling still carries. Unfortunately things happen in real life where these prejudices are reinforced for example - Adam Levine, Try Guys. At work people do not want to cause an HR headache, such affairs can cost millions in lawsuits/ reputation damage. When I worked for a consulting firm, work fraternisation had to be discussed with the HR especially with older male boss and it was frowned upon. Problem is a few young women with zero principles and many males with mid age crisis behave terribly and the entire female (CIS) gender has to suffer. It’s unfair but it is what it is
The script writers didn't do their job well then... lack of research 🤭
It’s more like they focused more on character development instead of technical details. The characters behave consistent as per their personna. And immediately you like them. Unlike forecasting love and weather where the writer spent all her energy being super technical about the physics of weather forecasting but the characters were unlikeable and mean. She even glorified cheating. So I prefer this approach 😊
I am loving this drama. My only pet peeve so far is that the finance explained is a bit lame. I am a financial analyst myself so I cannot help rolling my eyes sometimes. Otherwise it’s a real fun watch and the chemistry so far is awesome. Not over the top (since they have just met) but good nonetheless.
I have a feeling that this is a “dramatic” drama since there would be angst coming the leads way for sure.…
To be honest we use the word comedy in a wrong context so you right. Comedy means something that ends well so opposite of tragedy. Humorous is the right English I suppose. Nonetheless I do hope it’s light and not heavy. I am still reeling from the disappointment that Forecasting Love and Weather was with so much angst and then 2521 with ridiculous ending, that I stopped watching dramas real time for months now. This is the first one I have picked up in a long time.
I think it should be taken as a comedic series, with something social to say about glass ceilings, and parental…
I have a feeling that this is a “dramatic” drama since there would be angst coming the leads way for sure. There are some secrets I can see already and some manipulations which will happen so it won’t be a comedy all through its run. You can watch some trailers and they are hinting at a tonal shift.
What's with everyone obsession with women getting married 🙄
Some good reasons and some bad. Women who are older themselves are afraid of seeing their girl child lonely. In most societies an older woman is usually quite lonely - no social equity, not considered useful. So she is projecting her own fears. “I don’t want her to suffer so I will force her.” The second more insidious reason is patriarchal “how dare women stay single” . They are supposed to have babies and get married. So it’s a mix of good intentions and bigoted intentions both.
There is saying in my language, “the village has yet not been inhabited but the beggars are already there”. This drama has not even started but the noona haters are already here “spreading their joy and love and light”. If you hate a genre don’t watch. For example if you don’t want boy love dramas don’t watch but don’t spread toxicity just because you can. Move on from this page. There are several wonderful Korean dramas being aired now (Young Lady and Gentlemen, One Dollar Lawyer, Somebody) where the heroes are comfortably much older than the heroines so it’s not like there is no choice.
