People are used to seeing women. 1) under twenty five 2) pure as snow 3) has never even held hands with someone 4) does not even know what sex means 5) has to have the older male lead bully her all through the drama and even force kiss her 6) cook or clean non stop for parents or in laws 7) somehow magically is good at work too without messing up. Exactly what Carl jung/ Freud said 150 years ago have the classic “Madonna archetype”. Things have not changed since 😊

I agree. For once k drama has shown us a sensible woman who is non afraid of being in tune with her passionate self or her ambitions or taking risks. The scene where she talks to SK with so much compassion when she feeds him was so cute.

Did you notice the way song Kang father in this drama talked about park min young in such a derogatory way. I found that scene to be absolute poetic justice since thats the way trollers talked about her. So the drama authors knew how narrow minded and toxic some people could be.

Episode 6 Real Time Ratings 14.18% Now actual ratings will come after a few hours. I hope those of you bashing…
I have a theory. I think people yesterday were shell shocked with what happened in Ukraine so less people tuned in yesterday. To be honest I know I am

I am loving this show so far and have a few thoughts.
1) I don’t feel the exes are toxic since the main leads have clear flaws. The FL is so hard to be with that even her mom gets scared and the ex chose to passive aggressive leave her. ML has a lot of skeletons
2) the chemistry between the main leads is awesome and I hope its explored well since both compliment each skill sets
3) I don’t like mean bosses especially those who yell on their subordinates in front of others. So far the female lead unlike what others in this forum think to me seems actully quite capable. However I do feel she lacks Emotional intelligence. Any new boss has a one on one with their team first. They showed that in search Www so clearly this is not an alien concept. But she does not talk to them. Hope they do show that arc
4) the relationship to me is good since it’s full of consent and the leads are in sync so far

Also I feel that at this rate I am better off watching and reading about commentary on western (British and Scandinavian) shows where the viewers are not so sexist and can handle complex and older women characters. The female lead in the British Drama Bodyguard was one of the most unsympathetic characters written still people did not go all angry about it

Exactly. The hero in secretary was a sociopath and people still loved him. When will people stop being so so so very gender biased. I think people only want to watch girls younger than 25 with naïveté and dealing with life’s problems which have nothing to do with ageing and being super nice at the same time.

It’s quite common for new bosses to flounder. Her character will go through an arc. Everyone around her including her mom says that she is difficult. She is written to be like that. I am so fed up of all saintly women characters in dramas. I guess since I also read books like that, I am used to irritating female characters who redeem themselves. One example is Aelin from throne of glass. Everyone around her keeps saying how horrible she is and slowly she changes over 7 books. People are wired to like jerk guys such as secretary Kim but not women characters like that. we are like only 5 episodes through she should change halfway 8 or 9 episode. Nonetheless if she is not your cup of tea, you can explore other characters and dramas where women are likeable upfront 🙂.

I think he blames himself. There is some issue with his family or whatever so he thinks he is responsible. He also has some lingering feels since that’s quite natural too. As long as they don’t show him complete subservient to the heroine I am good, which he is not doing so far.

This is what makes it fun though, as it is a very different approach to the usual kdrama main lead relationship…
Same here too. I love the friends with benefits to real couple trope. It’s refreshing and also means that the characters don’t act like 13 year olds

I think people are a bit touchy since we all had unreasonable bosses. I know it’s a sore point of mine. That’s why people don’t realise it themselves but are having a psychological reaction seeing her this way as they are getting triggered by what they face themselves. I love her but her office image needs to be nicer. I get reminded of the drama My Horrible Boss where the female head started off as horrible but was a complete dudette by the time the drama ended

I loved how little Shi Woo gave a shit when SML put on his jealousy/insecurity fueled lovey-dovey show on the…
I also liked how he got angry when he saw her outside the motel. I don’t like men pushover characters when they are younger. For example all I remember in encounter is park bo gum and his big teeth 😊. So far I love how he takes a stand. Let hope this drama holds up today. I don’t like early breakups.

I'm completely agree with you, Jin ha Kyung (the character) completely ruined it for me in the 5th episode.
I agree to an extent. I don’t like bosses who make subordinates work unreasonably. They have a day team and a night team. So there will be contingency and business continuity planning both so there is no need for her to overreact. Bosses owe to team and customers both. One of the reasons why I hated the hero in secretary kim. But I hope she get better which I am assuming she will. There has to be character development.

Because a lot of people had a problem that the female was older. It’s fine to not be ok with the concept but they were very vicious and mean in their comments. While the same people had no problem with Bulgasal where the hero was 14 years older. Now those trollers are not there. And it’s a more healthy environment where people respectfully agree/ disagree

I also have tiny problem with her. I am watching it and I'm about to start episode 4 but it is a little hard to…
I like actresses when they are older sometimes since it’s different. I have seen lots of British, Scandinavian and Pakistani dramas where the women are older. However usually there is a stylistic choice. The men are always dressed in more formal clothes and have a full beard so it actually looks really good as a couple. In this drama the age difference is not large but the differences have been enhanced.

so first FL is older than ML, so they both used formal speech the first time they met because they were stranger,…
That’s what I wanted to know. Since it’s the same with south Asian languages where you switch between second level and formal level. Third level is only for younger people. However couples will always use second irrespective of age difference since they have equal status

Title Crazy Love
I hope she is really ill. I am not saying it in a sadistic way, but I find dramas where the heroine is ill very poignant and it’s not a usual trope. Scent of a woman and marriage contract are one of my all time favourite dramas. I loved and cried with Leo Tolstoy Anna Karenina, Gone with the Wind, Little Women, where one of the main female characters pass. Somehow these stories have remained with me, even though I read them in high school. Conversely I don’t like when the hero dies, since I don’t like to see crying women. We have enough of grieving women in real life anyways. The movie Fault in Our Stare was also so beautiful. There is something very melancholic and beautiful about people living life to the fullest with the time they have. I hope it does not get tropey where it’s a misdiagnoses. I will watch only if the diagnosis is real.
