I went through almost all of 2021 without really hatewatching a standard length drama. I tried with "Police University" but it was so bereft of any quality of any kind, I could only manage half the episodes. I did manage a few shorter form web dramas though.
And then "Now We Are Breaking Up" came along and it is a sublime hatewatch because I am constantly discovering new flaws and reevaluating who is to blame for the disaster that it has been from the very first scene.
I guess I don't especially mind that it's less screen time for CC. I'm not sure that I would have gone in the direction of all three of these characters though.
My only complaint about this show was how hard it was to find where I could watch it.
It is an astonishingly excellent show. It has a marvelous mixture of some of the best lighter, funnier scenes and a few of the most poignant, heartbreaking moments. I have been positively riveted.
For a 90 minute finale, felt like 88 minutes was wrapped around Hee Joo and what happens w her. I wasn’t looking for a happy ending for Hae Won or Li Sa or the other characters, but give us some sort of adequate exposition on what happens with them. Didn’t like that.
And mother-in-law gets exactly what she wanted. Boo 😡
First, it's a surprisingly good show that has warmth and humor and doesn't rely on the characters being drunk to be funny.
What is shocking to me personally is I had seen three of the four main actors in other productions (Choi Si Won in "Revolutionary Love", Han Sun Hwa in "Backstreet Rookie" and Jung Eun Ji in "That Winter, the Wind Blows") and thought they were, uh, to be kind, not good. Here, they're obviously playing better characters, but also I simply misjudged them badly. Comedy is not easy and this team is really good. Delighted to find that my previous opinion was proven 100% wrong.
By my count, there are now four subplots: 1. Chi Sook & Do Hoon 2. the conflict between the two work teams 3. Mi-Suk's health & her husband's fidelity 4. Chi Hyun
All of them are more entertaining (far more actually) than the primary arc, but at least each episode seems to feature these subplots more heavily. Had this been more of an ensemble show from the drop instead of relying so heavily on the JYK & pair, it would have been (at least through 6 episodes) far, far more enjoyable to watch.

Dig the article. Well done.
Had the final episode been better, probably would have bumped it up to at least a 7. But that was really bad. 😳
I've only seen "One More Time" but I thought it was a really well-done show.
This is such a dumb twist that it can only be considered drama malpractice. Someone should be drummed out of the industry forever for that idiocy.
The rest? I dunno. I liked Hyun Jo and was happy he didn’t die but that’s all we get? Yi Kang can walk now? Ok how? Not a great ending iyam

Thanks for giving this gem a little spotlight!

A pulse of 117 seems like it’s high for sitting on my couch watching a tv show 😬
