Title: Fish Follow the Current to Land ML: Hei Ze FL: Zhao Xi Xi
This drama stands out with outstanding chemistry right from the first episode and delivers a genuinely romantic love story with one of the strongest plots of the year. Beautifully filmed with a mix of small fishing-town atmosphere and a layered crime storyline, it follows two people who naturally fit together and slowly fall in love while figuring each other out.
The relationship feels authentic and refreshing, with real conversations, playful moments, and even spontaneous laughter during intense scenes, which adds a sense of realism to their chemistry. The leads are fantastic together, supported by a strong ensemble cast that enhances the overall storytelling.
Sun Lu is the obedient daughter of a senior prosecutor, forced into a teaching career after her parents dismiss her dream of becoming an artist, and pressured toward an unwanted marriage. Her life shifts when she meets Chen Xudong, a former maritime officer whose past is marked by tragedy and wrongful conviction.
Now living a quieter life running an aquarium shop, he appears calm on the surface but carries deep emotional burdens, responsibilities, and an adopted child he cares for unconditionally. His life mirrors the image of isolated fish he keeps, symbolizing his loneliness and hidden struggles.
What truly makes the romance powerful is Sun Lu’s unwavering trust in his character. For Chen Xudong, that trust becomes healing, making their relationship not just romantic but deeply restorative and meaningful. 10/10
Title: Shen Qiao Is Not Too Late ML: Wang Daotie FL: Guo Yu Xin SML: Ying Zhennan
This drama revolves around a marriage of convenience where the leads are already married when the story begins. For the female lead, the marriage is purely a business arrangement, while for the male lead, it has always been about love. Despite loving her for years, he never truly makes an effort to build trust or emotional intimacy after their marriage, leaving the female lead distant and indifferent to the relationship.
Everything changes when the female lead's ex-boyfriend returns from abroad. As the man she once genuinely loved, his return shakes the fragile balance of their marriage. With the ex openly trying to win her back and deliberately provoking the male lead, the cracks beneath the male lead's calm and composed facade begin to show. What follows is not just a love triangle but a journey where the married couple finally gets the chance to build the relationship they should have had from the start.
I really enjoyed this drama. The chemistry between the leads was excellent, and the emotional tension created by the returning ex added just enough drama without becoming overly frustrating. The male lead's quiet devotion was one of the strongest aspects of the story. He had loved Shen Yiqiao for years and patiently stayed by her side, caring for her in ways she often didn't even notice. Watching him slowly step out of the shadows and fight for his marriage made the romance all the more satisfying.
At its core, this is a story about love, trust, and learning to choose the person who has always been there for you. The plot is simple but engaging, and the relationship development between the leads is what truly makes it worth watching.
Title:Sweet Hong Kong-Beijing Marriage ML:Wang Nan FL:
The story revolves around an arranged marriage between a successful director and a former rising actress who returns to the entertainment industry after taking a three-year break following her successful debut. The female lead struggles with abandonment and trust issues, shaped by a childhood with an actress mother and a controlling father. In contrast, the male lead genuinely wants her to thrive, supporting her dreams and encouraging her to succeed rather than holding her back.
What I enjoyed most was the romance and the relationship development between the leads. The male lead clearly loved her from the very beginning and understood how to handle her emotional scars with patience and care. Instead of trying to change her, he consistently supported her, respected her boundaries, and helped her regain confidence in both her career and herself. Their chemistry felt natural, and watching their relationship gradually grow stronger was one of the best parts of the drama. 9.5/10
I could have overlooked this, because it seems 59% of dramas have Blossom in the title! It's on my Watch Next…
I get you, every time I see “Blossom” in a title I’m like, not another one again 😭 But this one is genuinely worth it. I’d totally rewatch it. I still have beef with Youku for partially ruining the experience for me, though. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!
Title: The Bride Back from Prison FL: Wu jia lu ML: Chen jian yu (Dede)
8/10
The leads were so cute and grew to love each other slowly and naturally. The ML grandpa and sister were so adorable and so nice to the FL. It was so satisfying to see the evil people get their punishment, especially the scumbag ex and his old mistress. The long lost heiress trope they tagged on gets tiring but that twist had surprises too.Just I don’t like the plot about the adopter daughter. Why can’t the parents handle it more better. I really hope to see two sisters get along with each other

I moved it to "Low Priority." I know I'm blunt (and that does cause problems), but I've never allowed…
I get it honestly. I actually have a pretty high tolerance for misunderstandings and miscommunication in dramas if they at least make sense emotionally, but this is one of the few dramas where it genuinely started irritating me. It got so frustrating at one point that I probably would have dropped it completely if the second couple wasn’t there to keep me invested.
