Hi Winnie. How have you been? As usual I disappear. I got a litle busy and then distracted by some of my other nerdy obsessions. I don' think I'll be watching any dramas any time soon for now. what's your verdict on Papa?

I have been done with Soredemo for a loooong time now, it;s a brilliant story. do watch if you feel up to it. It's dark but beautiful. Eita is talented and the other cast also amazing. How are you? Did you have fun watching Mop Girl?

Winnie, I just hope you keep safe/warm in this stormy weather. The wind is something else at times. I've been travelling to and fro London frequently lately and the landscape was somewhat depressing in places. I hope Arigatou Papa is treating you kindly too?

Well I haven't watched anything today myself; I got busy writing my project and then reorganised some of my references and bookmarks and I had to prepare for the weekend since we have a red warning for storms here as well. So it means I haven;t moved past episode 10 yet. I'll update when I reach episode 20 at least.

But instead you wrote a review. :) After a breka of this sort I think you will have even more hunger and energy for dramas. After an especially tiresome period I really find that biting into dramas is the first thing I MUST absolutely do. Eh, addiction. Can't live with it, can't live without it.

So far (still on ep 10) I think I would say the romance is there more to highlight how difficult the times were. Choi Min Soo is a gangster, his friend an insoiring prosecutor, while Ko hyung Jo a daughter of a rich casino owner. Lee Jugn Jae plays her silent bodyguard but one who will do anything to destroy the likes of choi Min Soo'c ahracter. It is really strongly connected with the period and so far I felt the potrayal is quite authenthic. I think they even included live footage of the Gwangju massacre. In this sense it feels like I'mw atching some piece of authenthic Korea rather than artificial glamorous gangster dramas, I hope how I put it makes sense.

Well I hardly ever watched them so far because I am still wating for "classic-mode mood" to come :) I see it sounds good enough but somehow I probably won't watch it anytime soon, not even for eita. Maybe in a year or so. But it doeas sound fun. I;llk keep it in mind for one of long days when I have absolutely nothing else that I want to urgently watch. How are you?

Hehe powiem ze niezla drama nawet. Milo popatrzec na naturalna gre aktorska :-) A historia osadzona w dosc trudnym momencie bo to sa lata 70-80 czyli okres rezimu/dyktatury. Ech w sumie klimat na tyle wyglada znajomo ze intruciyjne stwierdzam ze drama stosunkowo autentyczna. Ma tym tle mamy historie trojki przyjaciol, ale trojkacik to to nie jest i ta porzyjaz i watek milosy ma raczej na celu pokazanie jakie trudne to byly czasy.

lol, this isn't SO old. :D It's not like we are talking about Kwaidan or some such classic :D By the way I do want to watch Kwaidan and all thise oldies at some point but I need to have a different mindset/mood for them.
