After I found out of today's scandal with one of the Leads, I can say that this drama has Worse of Luck.
This drama can be considered quite old already, is been 3 years since they filmed it and not released it. As things look like I think we can loose all our hope for this to ever get Aired. If Chen Feyu gets over this scandal he will have to lay down for a while (maybe another year).All his projects and dramas will be also delayed, which will make this drama even older and irelevant in the money making industry of Chinese entertainment.
Tencent kept waiting for the best moment to air this until they literally got no hope for it. Because of their greed, they hoped to score big money with this drama and got nothing in return. This should have came out in 2021 Spring even before Word of Honor. That's my personal opinion, that's why Word of Honor did well and Tencent will get only the Middle Finger.
Let's wait and see how they will screw Winner is the King also. 🤡

Your review is Immature! It's a Wuxia drama what do you expect? Is freaking Fantasy, Not reality. I don't think you even know anything about the genre, don't comment or give low scores if you don't even know what you are talking about. It's like I would give my 2 cents about Horror genre movies which I don't usually watch. To me they all the same, but someone who is passionate about it will definitely have more to say.
All the Wuxia/Xianxia or almost every Chinese drama lately have an "anime style" as you call it. This drama actually has decent CGI and is refreshing to see a story about Friendship, and a group of friends taking on adventures and not the usual Boring Romance plot (which are almost all identical anyway).
They are fighting as they are supposed to do since this is a story about Martial arts, if you look for deep plots or Romance go watch some Palace dramas and that's it.

December 2022, this year is almost over and there is no Immortality. Do we really have to live 2 life times before this will air? 😭

I love his character in the Blue whisper, he is very charming. I hope to see him in more dramas in the future, maybe in a Main Role too. ❤️

A drama which had potential but ended up a dissapontment. At least there were funny moments and the main cast was spectacular.

This drama deserves a maximum of 6.5, just because the first half of the drama was alright, the 2nd half was like a different drama. The whole plot is about people sitting at a table and talking.The main couple had no chemistry whatsoever and I disliked Madame Mi character a lot. In my personal opinion she didn't deserved any help she received from Sang Eun. She deserved to start experiencing a real life of hardships and work her a*s for real if she wanted to enjoy a life of luxury. Madame Mi is a selfish character and deserves no pity or redemption. I am usually excited about PMY dramas but after this one I will remember never to be again. Lately her roles are kinda similar in terms of characterization and the plot lines are weak.

I personally enjoyed this drama, I think this season had some worse dramas (Park Min-Young new drama for example, which bores me and I am struggling to finish) . At least The Golden Spoon had some aspects which made me want to see how the story is unfolding. I hate those dramas where I can already guess what's next (I watched K-dramas for 12 years already and I kinda seen it all).
With a small note that I never have read the webtoon so I have watched this drama through the eyes of a viewer who did not had an alternative story line for comparison. With this in mind the drama is more than decent. If you ever read the webtoon then think of this drama as more of an adaptation than a faithful replica of the original work.
If you look for a mystery/fantasy type of drama this is alright to try out.

I have watched "The Golden spoon" and found out that 2 of the actors from there are playing in a BL together. So I had to check out what is this about. Hopefully is going to be good.

Funny, light-hearted, no episode was boring and the jokes were on spot. I loved the cast and all the characters portrayed.
I think this is a hidden gem among this season dramas.

And I have been spoiled countless times on the ending of shows I was still watching on. But in most of the cases it was my fault also for not following the Spoiler warnings. I can't be mad at the entire world and millions of other fans of the shows I am watching because they shared their view about the story online (we live in the era of Internet). If I don't want to be spoiled then first of ALL I DO NOT read the comments.

Great drama with an unsatisfying ending! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILER! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️So many questions are still left open and so many bad characters have not been punished (the nurses, choi doha secretary, Dr. Han crime is not being revealed, Charmain son is not being brought back in the country and punished, etc.).The whole Dr. Seo paper and lab situation was just brushed off after they built so much mystery around it for so many episodes??? Why? How?They should have extended this drama with at least 2 more episodes. Or kill CD in the last episode and have a closure in the last episode where they show how they punish and reveal the crimes of Charmain all the other minions.I don't get it why the writers did this to this drama! At some point I thought they will have an open ending and head towards a 2nd season.Anyway, I want to give my applause to the cast. Great job everyone.👏👏👏

A 9.5/10 for me, one of the best dramas this year.I loved all the characters, everyone played their roles so well. The Cheng family were the MVPS of this drama. The Emperor and his two ladies were absolutely extraordinary. I loved this refreshing representation of an Emperor, also the Empress and the Concubine.Even if the princesses and the princes were lacking in certain aspects, I actually liked the 3rd Prince a lot and the fact that the switch of role between him and his brother happened without bloodshed (as typically happens in these dramas).* As a side note I loved to see Marius Cheng playing again, it's been a while since I saw him in The Untamed. *Moving on I also liked the other 2 Second Leads in this drama, they were not revengeful, possessive or manipulative( as I usually seen SL being portrayed in these type of dramas). I loved A'Yao character a lot, even if he was a bit immature at the beginning he really grew up a lot as a character thanks to SS. I think he was a good match for SS. I also like Yuan Shen, he helped SS and her family several times and he never pushed himself or forced SS through some wicked means to marry him, even during those 5 years when LB was not around. He was a bit spiteful at the beginning but I think that was his way of deflecting the feelings he started having for our FL, as never really believed in love and didn't had any healthy relationship role model.About the FL, and ML, they were just perfect.As a down note, I found a few of the last episodes a bit draggy, I was expecting that SS would understand better from were LB was coming from and try not to be so harsh on him. He never left her, he just wanted to protect her but he also had a whole life revenge to fulfil. I think LBY is the most pitiful character in the whole drama. And he really suffered for way too long, and SS cold shoulder didn't help much either. So I wasn't really convinced at times about her love for him. I still believe that LBY was actually loving her much more than she loved him. Regardless of her whole 5 years of confinement, which may look like a supreme sacrifice she did (sort of preserving herself away from other future possible prospects), she could have simple done that for herself too, like not wanting any more men in her life.I think SS is a women with a modern mind set but born during a wrong time.I also found the ep 55 a bit nonsensical, I thought that would be the time when she would make use of her knowledge in mechanics but I was dissapointed to see that it didn't happened.To close it off, as the Emperor said we also wanted to be there to see the wedding but we weren't invited. 😆

I get you. I saw this drama getting a lot of attention and I thought to give it a try but then I have seen the FL. They typecasted again the typical cute looking actress for a Xianxia drama. And what is worse is that the styling team lacks any kind of inspiration and used the same recycled aesthetics for the FL where she is wearing the typical silly looking bangs and similar hairstyle as in other previous popular Xianxia dramas (Love and Redemption or Ashes of Love).
I need to prepare myself mentally if I want to watch this drama.
I don't know when I will live to see a strong mature FL in a Xianxia drama.

I have watched a few episodes already and this show is quite funny and addictive. Even if I am not familiar with everyone in the cast, I think they are all getting along well and they are funny to watch.

A 10/10 for me. Probably the best Cdrama in the Cdrama land this year. I don't think there will be another one which will top this one.It's a drama made with great attention to details. Every character is very well built and developed.The visuals, costumes, actors, music, everything is Top quality.Every episode was interesting and I didn't felt any moment that the drama is boring or that the story is getting draggy. This is an experience I often felt with these long running Chinese dramas, and for this reason I often found myself dropping them mid-way.But I binged watched all the 40 episodes of this drama in a few days.The actors are very captivating, the main couple has a great chemistry together and I really fell in love with them as watching their story unfold. I am not a fan of love stories but this one is so well made. Its a story about a mature, supporting couple which accept each other as they are without any judgement. Ofcourse there are moments when things seem to be hopeless and they go down but if there wouldn't be those then we would have nothing to watch. I just loved to see how they solved their issues and overcomed all the hardships. Our FL and her two great friends are just like a breath of Fresh Air in the Cdrama land. We finally have some Smart, Strong women which show that they are not damsals in distress in need for a Prince to get saved.I personally loved Sanniang as a character, she is very mature and perceptive and a great support for Zhao Pan'er. She is always there supporting Pan'er and I loved how well she knows her that she could easily sense any issue with her friend even when she wasn't talking about what she was feeling. And the fact that she was supportive and reliable all the time. I love her strong, outspoken character and how honest she with herself and those around her.It's also my first time seeing a drama with Chen Xiao, and I fell in love with his acting. The bottom line is that I don't really find anything to critique in this drama. Is a MUST Watch for anyone who likes Historical type of dramas.The whole Production team and Actors deserve all the prizes they can get!
