the ending is so confusing i need an explanation đ
I am now sure where you are confused, but if it the ending, if they survived or not. There are two ways you can read the ending (in both cases WKX didnât die): the Immortal Qi is too powerful for one person to contends. 1. WKY became similar to Rongâs father(RF-to make writing easier.) WKY used to it save Ah-Xu like RF did for Bai Yi, by refining it and giving it to Ah-Xu. Similar to Bai Yi and RF, WKX and Ah-Xu become The next Bai Yi and RF. One became immortal ( but he has to live on snow and ice), Ah-Xu and WXY became like RF, who survived the ending and have a longer life span than a normal person. Since RF live longer than Rong ( he died sometime between the 20 years before the story begins.) and he and Bai Yi are the ones who started the ghost Valley. Bai Yi is supposed to be more than 100 years when he came down the mountain in the show, RF must have died in his 80-90s. So WKY does live longer than most people and partly stay in the mountain with Ah-Xu till he died and I feel based on Ah-Xuâs characterâs typeâŠonce WKX dies, he will leave the mountain like Bai Yi and live to most till he dies in a couple of days or months. Because he only decided to live after meeting WYX and CL and only stay alive for them. Once WKX died, I donât think he would want to live eternally alone. 2. Ok-second outcome, the one I believed the write and production want but couldnât release because of censorship. As said before the Qi is too powerful for one person, you need two people to master it at the same, because the Qi needs to be constantly recycled between the two to be used and survived. Why Bai Yi and RF couldnât achieve it, while WKX and Ah-Xu could is because Bai Yi was not strong enough to admit his love for RF. The two people must be fully open to each other emotionally and mentally. There is a lot of hint in episode 36 that shows that Bei Yi âkind of lieâ to WKX about costing his life. One, he didnât know about the sharing of Qi because he and RF didnât achieve it, or two, he meant his mortal life end and start his immortal life. The reason a lot of fans believed in this ending is that are a lot hint and some of the original dialogue was changed in the overdubbing. In the original dialogue from the old CL when he is telling the story to his students, he explained how they survived. They change the old CLâs dialogue when he tell his students the story, because of censorship and dub over what the actor said. He actually said that two people need to master it and that they to absolutely understand and love each other to pass the Qi between them to becomes immortal. I did an edit that included all changes dialogues for episode 36 with real ending in the discussion section, if you want to watch the ending again. It also have the âlove youâ part.
In both cases, episode 37 fit. However, it is up to you which one you want to believe. I did an edit that included the âsupposedâ ending number 2, with the correct overdubbing if you want.

Two endings did get was filmed, a HE & BE. In one of the BST, you can hear ZZH (in his immortal costume) asking the crew, which âone are they shootingâ and I think someone released a shoot schedule for plan A and plan B. To me, the production didnât really want a BE, because they cut it up and mixed it in with HE. When I first saw ep 37, I really thought WKX didnât died but was in a coma and he just woke up and just came out of cave to greet ZZS that why ZZS looked surprised đ€Łđ. This is good example how good an actor ZZH is, just one look he saw you how ZZS missed and loved KWX.

To each his own, I personally âhypedâ both shows because I feel in love with the story ( plot ) and acting of the main lead. In both case, Simon was only actor I seen his drama beforehand, so they were not my âfavorâ. Actually my opinion of ZZH is that his hair and character seem to be same for all his drama from watching clip of his two more famous show before WOH. In both case, after watching the shows I end up liking them. Maybe you should learn not to listen to âoverhypedâ recommendation for future, if it happen to you twice. đ if you feel overhyped show not your cup of tea. Or maybe get better reviewer.
